Ray,
Where do you stay when you go to LS... I perfer SandRatHaven its out of the way and you can access the store at the north end... The owner is really cool if you follow the rules... I like going on the big weekends Because I like to night ride and there are more people to ride with at night on the bigger weekends.. Ive meet some really cool people from all over....
Anyone else going on to LS for the Snake hunt weekend?
Ron(Spudss)
Most of the time we are in the south camp ground somewhere under the trees. I would like to get in the cowboy camp ground next time, I'v tried to in the past but it was allways full. I want to go up to LS with the club in march. If they cant decide when they are going i am planning on being there march 13th and 14th with or without them.
Good Luck on the 400!
Raymond
Posted by: Spudss
Called on that 400 this morning and it is Sold He said his buddie has one for the same price...but I cant get ahold of him...DOOOHH.....What is cowboy camp I dont guess Ive ever heard of that before.... I dont stay at the state camp grounds north or south... Too many rangers trying to be billy bad a$$...

I got the orange my wife likes the orange one and i kinda do also, and yes Brandon has done a good job so far
Brent

Where is everyone....Where is the cowboy camp at LS is it the Sand Rat Haven...
Posted by: Bluegoose
Brent,
I know I kinda wanted an orange one since I'm an OSU grad but Ty wanted me to get the Kawi green since he had a green 400 and our sand rail is trimmed in the same green.
Spudz,
Cowboy camp is the new part of North camp. It is part of the state owned property.
The probelm with staying at Sand Rat haven is none of the money that you pay them goes into improvements to Little Sahara. Does Sand Rat Haven have new restrooms and showers or do you go to the ones on State property?
Sorry you have had problems with rangers. We have never had any problems with them, ever.
Ronnie
Posted by: Spudss
Blue,
I agree with what you are saying about how sandrat dosent upgrade there camp..But I like staying there because it is off the main drag... Ive stayed at the north campgrounds once and I couldnt sleep at all with all the traffic coming and going all night.. Even though I dont get much sleep because Im out riding all night too.. When I do wanted to sleep I couldnt...Where as at sandrat you can get in the middle of the campgrounds and you cant really hear the traffic at all.. Thats the only reason I like the sand rat.. And its easy to get to the store through the campgrounds..
Ron

Spudss,
I know what you mean about the noise. I have had trouble sleeping sometimes but, not as bad in cowboy camp. It has to be ten times worse on the two maor weekends. We don't go on those two big ones, we have had close calls on Memorial and Labor Day weekend. Just to many people for the size of riding area.
Please don't take this wrong but, it really bothers me when people get on internet boards and bad mouth the rangers. I have seen them in lots of different situtions and then later read about people complaining about them for arrestting someone that had been riding drunk, driving 40+ mph through camps, indesent exposure or having illegal substances. I know one thing I don't want there low paying job.
Just my two cents in case anyone cares.

Ronnie, I agree! I've never had a problem with the Rangers, it may be that i follow the rules is the reason why!!!

Anyone going to try ride today? Its supposed to be almost 50 out!
Also, does anyone ever ride in th OCCRA races? I'm thinking about trying to ride in some this year, and I saw that they start at the end of this month.

Ronnie,
I personally have NEVER had a problem with ANY RANGER...But 2 guys I went to sand fest with both got tickets for absolutly stupid reasons one missed his turn so he did a u turn real qiuck and three rangers were on him that quick and gave him a reckless driving ticket...then the second was going north of the north camp on the black top and people were throwing water in the road and everyone was doing burn outs my buddie was at the wrong place at the wrong time he passes the guy doing a burn out and got a reckless driving ticket.. I know rangers have a hard job and IM NOT DOGGING THEM ON THE INTERNET AT ALL... But those tickets were a little outragous...But hay I guess thoughs are the rules...I personaly have never had a problem with one, they've all been pretty nice the ones i've talked to
Shane,
Ya im starting to get the hang of working with it....I have one ? is the topo map built in with the street map... the farther you zoom in the streets start appering.. I took it to tulsa with me and tracked everywere I went then came home and down loaded it on the pc.. It was pretty COOL.. Hopfully I will be takeing a trip to OKC there is a guy down there with an 01 400 for $2500 And I'd like to have it.. Then I will strap the gps to the quad and ride!!!
Ron
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Ron did you get to talk to the other dude that also had a 400 for sale?
Posted by: Spudss
ya I talked to the guy that you had givin me the # for and he had sold his before I could get ahold of him.But he had a friend that had one also for $2700 an 03 model WOW but he had sold his also But he has an 01 for sale too And He is suppose to send pics Mon. or Tues and If it isnt tore up Im going to try to meet him in the City... I guess he live 40 mile NW of the city ....
Ron
Posted by: okbow68
Spudss,
If you have topo maps loaded it will show streets also. There should be an option in your gps menus somwhere that allows you to choose the amount of map detail that you want to show on the gps. This will dictate how far in you will have to zoom in before the contour lines start to show up, if at all. Does that answer the ?, I think that is what you are talking about.
shane
Posted by: Spudss
Shane,
Ya that and on the mapsend software.. But I fogot you have a Garmin... I am still trying to figure out how to use all the features of the GPS..That info will help.. I guess I will have to take a trip to somewhere in the hills to test out some of the features... I did take a trip and downloaded the tracks to the pc that was cool how it tracks it even shows how you used the on and off ramps for the HWY... Im getting better..

Aaron,
I wish I could have ridden today, it was nice out.
You're going to ride in an OCCRA race?? I don't think I'm fast enough for those guys. I would just get in the way. BR>
It would be cool though, what class would people our age (and experience) ride in? Beginner-old-guy-never-raced-before-retarded-class?BR>

Hey guys...wow you all have really been chatting away. I have been out of town in Tunica, MS.
I noticed there has been a lot of talk about the Little Sahara outting and when to have it. Any weekend is good for me. Also, I recently mentioned that I had been speaking with a guy that runs a club in MO. Well he sent me a PM today saying that some of the people in his club wanted to ride Sahara. So, if you guys can decide on a date, we can go ahead and plan it. Then when we have a conclusive date in mind we can tell his club about it.
I think it would be a good move for us to interact with other clubs. The guy who heads up this club is also a the construction engineer that helped to deisgn and build the Chadwick riding areaa in SW Missouri.
So you guys decide when you all want to go to Sahara...also, anyone know where you can pick up one of those flags for a really cheap price?
Bob
Posted by: nukeim
I wouldn't be able to go until the weekend of the 20th. But after that, pretty much any weekend is good for moi.
As for the flags...Rocky mountain has one for $14.99. That's the only place I looked though.
Posted by: WildRaptor911
You can get flags at LS for $20. Don't buy a two piece flag they will come apart and you will lose it,and some of the two
piece flags are to short anyways.
Any weekend is good for me ! It would be awesome if we could get most of the members to go!
Be prepared to get monkey butt (sore ass) !

Hey Spudss,
Not sure if it's in your price range, and it's in KY. But there is a guy on another forum selling a 400EX for $3100.
I figured I would post it anyway...You never know. BR>
If you want the link, let me know. It won't let me post it here.

Probably won't get many guys that are off the hook on V-day. BR>

Mike, I think all the classes start at the same time, they just keep track of you by your number. I haven't decided if I'll go quad beginner, over 30 , or utility(polaris is automatic w'reverse). Your z is fast enough to compete on the trails, it'll be a lot faster than my sport, your 200lbs lighter!! I raced 80's and 125's motocross growing up, never any cross country but I allways wanted too. Just swapped to quads so what the hell, If I'm in the way I'll scoot over!
I can go to little sahara any weekend but the last one in Feb. Lets Go!
I doubt my wife will let me off the hook on Valentines day.
I'm thinking about taking Friday off if anyone's off and wants to go ride. let me know.
Aaron
Posted by: nukeim
I'll ride Friday. Where do you want to go?
Posted by: Bluegoose
Guys,
My favorite place to get a flag is Jim's Sand Toys (1/8th mile north of the North entrance).
Here is his web page. http://www.jimssandtoys.com
His flags our guaranteed for life. He has replaced one for us. Dakota hit a tree limb on the trails. No questions asked, just handed us a new on. They run $14 or $15 no more than $20. It has been to long since we bought them.
I will try to create a picture page today of our last trip to Little Sahara on Thanksgiving weekend. Should help to get eveyone in the mood. Also try the pictures on HoundDog06. Matt has some from Little Sahara on there
Ronnie

Bobman...I lost all the info on the club...could you send it to me again, sorry.

Brent,
Happy Birthday and to your wife a very happy birthday. Your wife and I now have two things in common. We both have a V-Force and we have the same Birthday.
Bob,
We are planning on going to Little Sahara on the weekend of March 13th(BJ's bithday). You didn't hear it from me but it is rumored that she will be 2 years short of 50.
March 13th is the beginning weekend of Spring Break for all Oklahoma schools, colleges and univeristies. We always try to go the first weekend, then if the weather is bad, we have the rest of the week to try to get there. We always go on Easter weekend. It's a 4 day weekend for us. We are past the hunting easter egg stage at my house.
Ronnie

Happy B-day Brent...How old are you? Is The weather any good in March at LS? Dont guess Ive ever been there that early in the year..
Mike,
Thats for the hit on the 400... Im still talking to this one guy in OKC 01' for CHEAP and he still has it.. Suppose to talk to him at 7:30 to see if he can send some pics of it... If its nice Ill be headed that way to pick it up... As long as the wife hasnt been to wal-mart yet.. lmao...

Mike,
It is kinda spooky, weird . All these of us having the same birthdays. Sure glad it's not Friday the 13th. Wow wait, it will be Friday the 13th this week.
What do you guys think of the Avatar that Matt made for me? That is a picture of me driving my buggy at Little Sahara. It is not easy to get that long wheel based 4 seater up in the air like that, but it can be done.
Okay, Ty wants to know if anybody has the same birthday as him(Feb24th)

march13 ?
march 20 ?
march 27 ?

All those dates sound good to me, lets just throw all the $hit in the truck and lets GO!
FYI my old ladys B-Day is march 14 and for two months (my b-day is in may) i get to give her hell because
she will be 6 ya 6 years older than me!
PLEASE DON'T TELL HER I SAID THAT !!!!!!

Wonder if I could just go to Walmart or Toys R us and get a flag for a kid's bicylcle...it may be cheaper there.
Bob
Posted by: trailride
I like the 20 or the 27 myself.
Just dont know how cold it will be early in march. I plan on camping in a tent i dont really like to freeze my ass off . Plus my 2 year aniv. is march 15 , but we could always celebrate it at little sahara OL>Brent

Bob there is heigth requirement on the flags,If I am right it is 10 feet from the groung to the flag.
Raymond
Posted by: Bobman
Ronnie,
yeah 10 feet from the ground...I will have to do some reasearch on the bike flags...
Maybe I can just strap it on some kind of extension or something..hahaha
I may just buy the $20 flag and stop spending 14 hours to research and save $3
Posted by: nukeim
Good call BR>
Something else to think about....Are helmets required at LS?
Posted by: Spudss
Ray,
I just talked to the guy with the 400.. (lives in kingfisher)He said it was in good condition.. He is supppose to send pics tonight or tommarrow and if it looks good I will pick it up either wed. or this weekend (hopefully!!!!)Getting excited
Bobman,
I had bought a two piece flag when I went to sandfest...It came apart and I didnt even know it...And I was SOL I will pay the $20 and buy the liftime garrenteed flags they sell at LS they are spring loaded at the base.. So they are almodt unbrakable... Plus The flag has got to hit there height wire..So just from my experience I would spent the extra couple bucks and buy the liftime flag I know I will when I go back
No helmets are NOT required RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Ron
Posted by: WildRaptor911
No helmets are not required BUT I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU WARE ONE !
Raymond
Ron beat me to the helmet thang.
Posted by: Spudss
DONT FORGET YOUR GOGGLES FOR SURE!!!!
Posted by: Spudss
We need to get a chat room going with all the members in here right now
Posted by: trailride
I have a 2-piece flag and all you do is bring some black tape and tape her about 3" up and down. But i would suggest getting a flag with a spring mount
Brent
Posted by: WildRaptor911
I hate this place i cant say $hit without using this $ !
Posted by: nukeim
I was just wondering, and throwing it out there in case it was required. Some of these guys don't own one.
Don't worry about me wearing a helmet , it's on before I swing a leg over the seat every time. It's saved my head on more than one occasion.
I have an extra (slightly used one that I will bring in case someone needs it.
Posted by: Spudss
Where is bob he can get that Instant Messeger chat room going.... Unless someone else knows how?
Posted by: Bluegoose
I talked to Matt when he came through earlier and he said the flags were $15 at Jim's Sand Toys, see earlier post for web site and they are guaranteed. They must extend 10 feet above the ground and you will have to drive under a height bar to get in. If it doesn't touch the pipe you don't get on the sand.
As far as weather goes, I have seen it 75 degrees or it can be 15 degrees in March. The best weather begins about the middle of April.
You guys pick a date and we will try to go. We always go on certain dates but we have been known to go back to back weekends when the weather was good.
Bob
I really don't think the flags from Toy R Us or Walmart will be any cheaper when you break them. They are made for bicycles not quads. There is a big difference in flags. I would hate for you guys to purchase something and later regret it.
Ronnie
Posted by: nukeim
Yeah...Bicycles don't do 60.
.....Wait, neither does Bob.
Posted by: Spudss
Ya like Ronnie said Id pay for a good on once instead of breaking it and shelling out another 15 again.. Plus those flags take a beating going across the sand ...really bad just going down the strech of woops just trying to get to the dunes... Thats rough
Ron

Brent,
How is the graphics for the shirts coming.. Got anything yet?
Posted by: nukeim
Yeah....That.
And how complex can the graphics be? I have been playing with a few pics, but they are much more involved than just a hand-drawn quad...Not sure how they would translate to silkscreen.
Posted by: Spudss
Well what is it? picaso...lol This is an ATV Club not the bird watchers club.
althou we could watch birds from our ATV's
I Was just thing an atv logo would be appropriate with an atv club ...
Posted by: trailride
Well i have just one concept so far that i kinda like. Ill try to devote more time to it soon. I want to have 3 concepts to choose from on my behalf i think everyone who wants to make one feel free we might put more than one together , thats kinda my idea is to merge a few others to have one that everyone agrees upon.
Eaton is a hydrolics company we make hydrolic motors for bobcat and other big machines. Its mainly a big CNC shop.
Brent
Posted by: Spudss
Brent I agree with that.. A fair idea.. you want to give away any details? Please please....
Posted by: trailride
Im not very good at this graphic arts stuff, if i had a program on my comp at home i could do some neat stuff. Its pretty basic right now. I will have something by the next meeting, speaking of meetings , are we going to have a feburary meeting say like the 28th. Like i said at the last meeting , i think we should have one every month till we get tired of each other OL>Brent
Posted by: nukeim
I'll try and upload a few in the next couple of days.
What I'm doing is along the lines of what some of these guys are doing. Only with better source material, and I guess I could put a ute in there as well.
Posted by: Spudss
how often are the meetings... I thought they were every month... I guess I just thought that with the monthly news letter
Posted by: Spudss
mike,
Thats a sweet pic...thats along the lines of what I was thinking about.. For that matter you could have on for the sport quad riders and one for the ut riders...?
Posted by: nukeim
I was going to make several...One of each, and a couple with both on them.
Then see if we wanted to go with a couple of shirt options, instead of only one.
Like I said, that pic isn't mine, but it would look somewhat like that. I can't access my pics from work, and I don't normally spend much time on the PC at home (except to do homework) but I'll try and get a few done soon.
Posted by: nukeim
Here are a couple quick and dirty ones.....Maybe they will give you guys and gals some ideas.
I havn't looked for pics of utes yet, so the only ones I did were sport bikes.
Put this on a white shirt.
On a black shirt.
Like I said, quick and dirty. But if I take some time, I could probably do some better ones.
I would also rather use pictures of us, from a club ride, instead of other people. (Especially because I didn't ask permission to use their pics )
Posted by: Bluegoose
I finally got some time this morning and have submitted the pictures for my page. Should be up by this afternoon. Now all I can think about is going to Little Sahara.
Bob
Start practicing your jumps. I got a new digital camera and it will 2.5 pictures a second. You said no one ever posts any pictures of utility quads on the sand dunes. Now is your chance. I will even make it a 8x10 or bigger and get Miller's to hang it on the wall in the cafe.
Ronnie

The only "Jumping" I have ever even considered is jumping off of the thing when it is about to roll over backwards onto me.

I like the one on a white shirt thats what I was talking about the rainbow shape over the pic... Thats sweet.. It would be cool to get club members on the shirt...

You guys were talking about helmets the other day. I have a like new Camo helmet is anyone is interested. It's a Bieffe MX-Sport camo colored ,size large, been wore 3-4 times by my nephew when he was visiting. I can take some pictures if any one wants them.
I'll take $25 for the helmet. I bought it two or three years ago and never wore it. Since then I have switched over to the V-Force and am using a Fox pilot helmet.

Hey Ronnie,
What's up with the UFO behind your buggy in this picture? Did you pi$$ off Marvin the Martian?
Posted by: Bluegoose
Mike,
We don't know what that is in the picture. We had four pictures show up like that. I got in such a hurry to leave that weekend, that I left without the digital or movie camera. The pictures that weekend were taken with a dispoable camera that we happen to have in the camping stuff. It is really weird because they aren't in the same spot on each picture. Maybe the developing.

Ron,
They are Skat Trak Extreme Haulers, they are nine paddles. Send HoundDog06 (Matt) a PM and ask him where and what they cost. I think he got them from Jim's Sand Toys. They hook up great. Matt can't wait to try with the longer swingarm. Maybe the front end will stay down now.

Hey guys, let me know about those pics I posted for t-shirt suggestions....Is that a direction that we want to take?
I don't want to waste a bunch of time making them, if ya'll hate them. So let me know. I'll make more.
Of course, we probably wouldn't want those goofy comments at the bottom of them

Of course you liked it, you suggested it BR>
No shirt for the utes yet, I wanted more input before I spent more time on it....And I'm not sure what kind of pic I would use for it either, most of the really cool utility quad pics have 3/4 of the quad under water, so you wouldn't be able to see it.
Posted by: trailride
Mike
I like them also. I dont think we need to have a ute one. But if more people want it then we can go that way. We just need a goodlooking quad on it and the z fits it good. My pics are not even that elaborate. Mine so far is just a symbol with the state in it and our club name around it. What if you cut the pic into a circle and put C.O.A.C. CENTRAL OKLAHOMA ATV CLUB around the circle with a est. 2003 somwhere in the pic. Then the pic would be a combonation of both mine and yours. Anymore thoughts on this? I dont know how that would look but in my mind i think it would look ok. But sometimes my mind dont work so good duhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sounds cool, I have class tomorrow morning, but I'll try and get a couple more done in the afternoon.
I didn't think of having the shape of the state on there....That would be

Had to add a few pics. Couple from Little sahara. Just playin around, too much time on my hands!
Aaron
Posted by: bearaf
How do you add the camera icon?
Posted by: nukeim
I think that the mods have to approve the pics first, then it gets added.
But I may be wrong.

Ohh I see, guess I could read the rules, but what fun is that!

------------General Posting------------------
Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the last meeting it seemed to be somewhat of a concensus that we would have meetings once per month.
I know that Brent and Mike usually have to work nights during the weekend. I asked Brent to select a date that would be good for him and he suggested Saturday, February 28 at 7:00 PM. I told him I would post it and see if that date worked for everyone else.
The meeting place will again be the Broken Spoke as most people seemed to think it was an adequate place to hold the meeting.
So if no one is opposed to Feb. 28 then that night works fine with me.
If that date is not possible or would be a hassle for anyone please let me know and we can seek alternative dates if need be.
So once again, your input is valued. Please let us know what date works for you.

Atleast thats a good time for your weekends to start. Would a sunday work better for anyone, sunday night i mean.
Brent
Posted by: nukeim
Yeah, there are only two of us that can do....well....what it is we do...So if he takes a vacation, I get zero days off, and vice versa....We had to agree on a rotation for the weekends, and his boy plays college ball, so he wants winter weekends....Works for me
Posted by: Bobman
I just wanted to say that any night except Wednesdays are good for me.
I have insurance school on Wednesday nights and we all know how wonderfully interesting and entertaining that can be.
Bob
Posted by: HoundDog06
I think we could manage a night ride come this summer. We all seem to be night owls.
Thanks for all the feedback on the shirt design guys.

Hey everyone,
Going to go riding this Sunday again. Supposed to be good weather. I start at Overholser/10th and ride to Rockwell. About a 3-4 hour ride roundtrip. Lots of sand, hills, rock crawling and whatever. I live next to the River so plenty of parking. I am going with 3 others people and have room for as many as want to go.
If interested PM me and I'll give directions.
Kevin
Posted by: nukeim
Hey Kevin,
Is it something that a sport quad could do?
Posted by: HavinSomeFun
Hey Nuk, I started most of the trails on that part of the river with my kfx 400, So Yes sports Quads do great there. I usually run across a group of 5-6 riders all on white z 400s when I go down on the river. I was going to stop them this time and ask them to join or at least look t our club.

Hey HoundDog
Thats a good looking design maybe you should put it on your picture page here.

Whats up Bobman and all you other clubbers?
Bob, blacksheepsix, is alive and kicking I heard him on the radio a while ago. Dont know why he hasn't posted much, but I am sure he will. Talk to you guys later.
shane
Posted by: Bobman
Shane,
Glad to hear that Blacksheep is alive and well. Ye olde board has been a bit quiet the last day or so. Newsletter comes out tomorow (I know you all have been on the edge of your seats waiting for that).
Everyone check your mailboxes tomorrow...Hahahahaha
Bob

Hey Everybody, I'm still here, Just been busy lately. I did get hounddog to send me a pic of the t-shirt design. That looks pretty sweet to me, When are we gonna get em printed up?
All these tech-savvy guys and their computer t-shirt designs pi$$ me off. I can't even add a pic to an e-mail without calling tech support three times!Anyway I like the ideas though.
Shane, I like your new pic over your name, that's pretty sweet.
See Ya'll, Mike

Could someone send me a pic of the shirt?
Thanks, Aaron
Posted by: nukeim
By the way Aaron,
Thanks a lot man.....I'm sore as he!! today. Stairs are my enemy.
On another note, that pic of you jumping (the last one is a pretty good one.
Posted by: bearaf
Mike, I'm with ya, I'm so sore, getting way to old too fast! My son has been ragging my a$$ about riding.
Have you posted those pics? I've told my boy about them and he just got madder that he didn't get to go! My wife gave me crap about breaking another chain, I've been told that I'm banned from there until I can come home without the chain being broken!
Aaron
Posted by: nukeim
But how will you know that your chain isn't going to break without going??? Sounds like a good excuse for a return trip to me.BR>
No, I havn't had a chance to edit the pics, or to upload them to my webspace, and I will not be able to until tomorrow at the earliest. More likely Monday.
Posted by: Bobman
Mike & Aaron
Well I guess you guys are still alive and well (except a lil sore I guess). Did you guys go to Red Banks or to the Stillwater 500?
I am ready for the weather to get warm. I like to ride but I don't like the cold.
Bob
Posted by: bearaf
Bob, We went to Red banks? Off I35 and 51. The ground was still frozen when we got there but awful sloppy by the time we left. We each probably had about an extra 50+ lbs of mud on our atv's. Mine was so heavy we just about couldn't even push it up the little ramp into the trailer! Nothing like good ole red clay!
Aaron
Posted by: nukeim
We are alive and well, but he is minus one chain, and when it warms up, (and I get off my a$$), I will be out at least $10 at the carwash...It got really muddy before we left. Probably 40 lbs. of mud on each of our quads....At least.
Oh yeah....And I am also minus one 4 pin/7 pin trailer adapter.
Posted by: bearaf
DAMN Theives! and at a good ole boys place too!
Posted by: Bobman
Hey Mike & Aaron...
How do you like the Genius owner that built his house like 6 feet from the track? You know the peace and quiet has got to be ever so present in the spring and summer.
Aaron, what is this the 3rd chain you have broken out there?
I've never ridden there but as I remember that field before they turned it into a riding spot had a lot of nifty looking erosion basins to ride in. Do they still have them?
Bob
Posted by: bearaf
At least I broke it in a different spot this time! The others were all in the same spot!
Aaron

My wife says I can have a kfx 400 so I'll quit tearing up her polaris/ If I can just find somw $$
Posted by: nukeim
We were talking about it, and it seems that there is an apartment-like area upstairs, but the bottom appears to be just a spot for the business side of things....Does somebody actually live there? Is it the cute girl who took our money?

I'll trade you mine for your boys quad....It's probably more suited to my skill level
Posted by: Bobman
I would really like to get a bigger ride...lord knows I need all the HP I can get to haul my lard @$$ around. But right now, I just can't see myself getting a new quad until I pay off my truck. I would like to get a Rincon or a Priaire but unless I hit the lottery rob a bank I will be on the Rancher for the forseeable future.
Bob "Too lazy to work, too scared to steal" Bobman
Posted by: bearaf
Bob, could you send me another copy of the news letter? Next meeting next Sat? If I can get a new chain in or this one fixed, I'll be there. Hoping i can just get master link instead of a whole new chain. I'm finally going to invest in a chain tensioner so this will quit happening.
My wife says she'll start riding if there is anyone who rides as cautious as her!
Posted by: bearaf
Mike you have a deal and I'll even fix the battery cable!!
Posted by: Bobman
Mike,
I don't know I have never really looked at the house except to note how close it is to the track. In the past people always paid at the gas station. I have fueled up there a few times when I used to have a lake cabin on Carl Blackwell (10 miles further east). I wish I still had that place...I had a huge deck would have been a great place to have meetings in the summer...heck I sold it to one of my best friends...naybe he will let me use it some weekend and we can all get together up there. No place to ride but that place has seen its share of major blowouts and if anyone has a boat there is a private dock right there at the spot. I will have to talk to him and see if we can use it later when the weather gets warmer.
Bob
Posted by: nukeim
Crap...I had forgotten about that battery cable until now.
Posted by: nukeim
Here you go Aaron., this is the best one....The chain breaker BR>
I have it in higher resolution of course, but that one is huge.
**Edit**Here is one of me, same jump.
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Is that one of the table tops that you where jumping? If it was did either one of you ever land on the back side of the jump?
Glad to see someone got to ride!
Raymond
Posted by: Bobman
Mike & Aaron,
That's pretty cool the way you all jump stuff. I am going to volunteer Keith's services of lying on his back and having you all jump him. I usually rent him out for $5 an hour but for you all the fee will be waived. Hahahaha

Yeah, it was a 40-50 footer (SWAG, of course). I was hitting it about 5-10 feet short on average, and bottoming out the suspension....I kept getting a bad case of small-balls when hitting the up-slope....I know, I know...It lands sooo much better when you hit the whole thing, but I just couldn't make my thumb grab any more throttle.
If I didn't have an extra 40 lbs of mud on the quad, I might have tried it.
Bob, I'm not sure I would want Keith down there....He would be making faces, trying to make me screw up.....And it would work
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Mike, I've cleared it once but the bad thing was I over jumped it and hit over half way down on the back side and that was the last time I jumped it to, that $hit hurt like hell!
I like to ride at Red Band but Karl never does work it and its always hard packed.
Bob I would like to TRY and jump Keith! LOL
Raymond
Posted by: nukeim
Yeah, I landed about 3 feet shy of the backside once, so when the suspension rebounded, it pretty much made me skip the backside, and land at the bottom....Waaaay too hard.
Posted by: bearaf
Mike, Those pics turned out pretty good. I may actually get the bike washed sometime this week!
Posted by: nukeim
I'm still walking by it with my eyes closed. If I don't see it, I don't have to wash it.
Posted by: HavinSomeFun
Well you all missed another great day of riding on the river. 5 of us went and played all afternoon (none of the club members showed). The river was up a little so it was even more challenging. I did roll my wheeler once and found a few hills that I couldnt make it up. They were steep!! 50 foot tall Almost straight up. I'll make it next time.
Perhaps next time you can make it.
Posted by: Bobman
Having fun.....
Man that sounds like a great place to ride (except for flipping) and its local even better. I really want to go there once the weather warms up. Are you going to come to the meeting on the 28th? IF so let me know and I will sendyou driving directions. We would really like to see ya there.

I'm always around. Where is everyone else?
~HoundDog
Posted by: nukeim
Spending an hour, and around $10 at the car wash....Blowing red mud all over everything within 20 feet.
That's where I have been.
Posted by: HoundDog06
lol... know the feeling. River Mud?
~HoundDog
Posted by: bearaf
Spent about hour washing and I now have a red yard, Man is my wife going to be pi$$ed! Went and got a master link to try and splice that chain together and noticed I also broke about 4 teeth off my front sprocket. Can't wait to take that mess apart!
Aaron
Posted by: nukeim
Hounddog...I wish it was river mud. River mud comes off better than the red stuff.
**From last weekend**
Guy behind me at the carwash was kicking himself for pulling in behind me. BR>
Hey Aaron, I don't know about yours, but my front sprocket comes off in about 3 minutes flat. Easy-peasy-japaneasy. It's the rear one that is a PITA.

Have we gotten any closer to hammering down dates for a March Little Sahara trip?
We should firm that up soon, so we can start making plans with work, girlfriends, wives, etc.
Posted by: WildRaptor911
Not a problem here my wife likes to ride as much as I do
I think March 27-28th would be a great weekend IF the weather holds out for us.
I'm shure the wife and I will go before then, I'm not much for day trips but I will take one when I can get one.
Bob is the meeting going to be the 28th of this month, is that in stone yet?
I'm about to go SANDCRAZYYY.
Raymond
Posted by: trailride
Mike i agree
I like the march 27th date myself. That gives it time to warm up a bit for the people camping in a tent like me. It looks like i will get several others who arent in the club to come also.
My vote is the 27th
Brent
Posted by: nukeim
Make that three votes for the 27th.
Posted by: HoundDog06
We are already planning on going up on the 13th if anyone else can make it. We are taking a pretty big group from around here. Weather permitting of course.
Nuke,
Awesome pic man, keep em comin!

Thanks! Aaron (Bearaf) took it. Go back a page in this thread there is one of him on the same jump.
I guess I could actually upload it here, and let them host it. Would give me one of those cameras under my name to boot
Posted by: trailride
Dont know about you guys but im going to put in for the 26th of march off to get ready for the little sahara trip. I really think thats a good date for most of us.
We really need a show of hands very soon

Hey Brent, which way are you going? Do you come up I40? You want to form up a mini-convoy? BR>
I will not get off work until midnight Friday, and there is safety in numbers and all that. Especially after not getting alot of sleep, and driving accross the state.
Posted by: trailride
Mike
We can do that , we will be going up I40 so we will have to find a place to meet. Man you have to work till midnight, then if we leave here at say 5:30 that will put us in the city at 6:15 so you would have what 4 hours of sleep. Do you think you could take off early that night? Even a couople of hours would help . I dont want you going to sleepgoing down the road . Or when we got to the city i could drive your truck while you slept, just a thought
Brent
Posted by: nukeim
He!!, just take the 240 way, and we can meet at my house. I live about a mile south of 240 on Sooner.
As far as the sleep goes, I only average 6 hrs per night anyway. With school, and a g/f that works dayshift, I'm pretty used to not getting much (sleep, get your mind out. Don't worry though, I'll refuse to drive if I'm sleepy. Getting there on-time isn't worth dying for.
Posted by: trailride
I dont know how many are going from the club, but i figure we could all meet in the city somewhere and go from there. Most of us have to go that way anyway so at the next meeting we can figure it out.
Brent
Posted by: nukeim
That's cool.
I won't be at the meeting, but my house will be available that morning, and coffee will be on
Posted by: nukeim
Hey, anyone have tomorrow off?
I'm thinking of heading down to the river (Purcell) around 1 p.m.
Anyone want to ride?
Posted by: trailride
Mike,
Every time your off we have to work and when were off you have to work. But soon you say that will change. Im just ready to go ride.
Brent
Posted by: nukeim
Yeah, but they would still have to give me a raise to work during the day. I love this shift.
Weekends off starting on my b-day....Mar 13!!! Sweet.
Posted by: Bobman
I can handle the up at crack of dawn stuff all day long. I don't know if i am goin got camp or not. It depends on how many are going to camp and the weather and stuff like that. I may just go early Saturday morning and stay until dark then come on home. But I will definitely be going up there on saturday AM.
Bob
Posted by: bearaf
Hey all, I'm planning on going the 27th. I'm sure I will stay the night, I will have to have something cold after a long day of riding and that is a long drive back to the city! Hopefully I'll be all repaired soon. I'm ordering a new sprocket and chain tonight. Let me know what time for sure you guys ar planning on getting up there and I'll meet ya. It takes almost exactly two hours from my house.
Aaron
Posted by: bearaf
Mike, wish I could ride tomorrow. I might get frowned upon taking another friday off. Due to wrestling and last friday I haven't been at school on a friday since the first of Jan. This really seems like a long week!

Hey Brent,
You just bought a v force, I'm looking at getting a kfx400, the only places I know of around here are ajax kawasaki and house of kawasaki. Do you know anything about either of them? Is there anywhere else I should look at. I want to go brand new this time. Just looking for a good place to deal with. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks, Aaron
Posted by: trailride
I got the V-FORCE in ada a place called davidson implement co. They are a kawai and bomb dealer.Bluegoose told me about them. They are really nice people. They have a 1-800 number. Plus they are out of the city limits so you only pay state tax 4.5%
1-800-371-2423 ask for brandon. Tell him that ronnie and brent sent you his way.
Brent
Posted by: bearaf
Thanks alot, I'll give them a call. Maybe I can make Little Sahara with a new ride, I'm trying to get my wife to come since in all actuality the polaris I'm riding is hers! She just had a death defying experience and thinks she's a little nervous now!!

I have purchased several wheelers and bikes from House of Kawasaki. They have always treated great and the service dept. has always been great also. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in
