Posted by: out18law18
it is trail riding with several mud holes and some technical sections. prob about 26 miles of trail total.
Posted by: Jamesh921
"Where is it..."
From OKC go about 50 miles east on I-40.
Take exit 200 and go north for six miles until you reach the stoplight in Prague (there's only one stoplight in town).
Go east 3 miles until you see a big green sign that says "Prague Lake".
Go north 2 miles.
Turn east and go 1/2 mile and you'll see the parking lot on your left.
Cost is $3 per ATV per day.
This is the last weekend we can ride there cause they're shutting the trails down to ATVers as of May 26th.

Sorry we will miss you guys.... We are going to Houston and ride a place called Bustin Loose with the Texas Quad bunch. ( at least the ones that aren't racing.) We need to go to Mena, or Broken Bow sometime soon. You guys pick a time and we will meet you there.

Am I going Monday?
I doubt it. I have to do some paperwork in the office on Monday. But, if I get it done earlier I may be able to make it. Just have to wait and see.
Gordon,
It'll be a few weeks before I can get that far from home. Right now my schedule is on a week-to-week basis. But things should sort out soon and then we can hit the mountains.

Didn't rinse my quad after Prague, that'll learn me. The Clay and Sand mix concreted around my drive shaft brakes and CV Joint boots. Had to spray let soak, spray let soak, then I could finally break it up with a screw driver. Shewy.
After many washers and zip ties, my quad is again like new, ready for the weekend.
Remember it is ok to:
TOW YOUR QUAD and HAUL YOUR QUAD!!!!
NEVER PULL YOUR QUAD, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE OUT WITH A BUNCH OF SMARTASS'S. Or you'll be the center of all jokes all weekend.
See you guys this weekend.

I've been on the Cimarron a few times, its just hard to find places to get on. I've gotten on by Guthrie and been run off by Dolese and also gotten on by Kingfisher but there is lots of quicksand. I'm also from Edmond and try to go ride as often as I can. We'll have to hook up and ride.

well i drove up and around guthrie to try and find a spot to no avail. i went up the 74 and came back down the 77. Does not appear that u would be able to ride far do to the river cutting back and fourth. I have a predator and i am not to sure about its water crossing ability. My wifes scrambler 500 i have had up to the seat in water with no probs. Seems that most ppl ride the n canadian so i would like to try that out but not sure were to go. But i you have some idea were to go i would deff be interested in meeting up with ya sometime.
Posted by: bearaf
My wife and I ride the south canadian at Purcell quite a bit and you can drive right out onto the river to unload. Last summer we went about 25 miles S. down the river before turning around to head back, and have ridden almost back to Norman from Purcell on the river. You can usually ride as far as you want to go down there.
Posted by: Seven77
Well were would you recomend to get on. You mentioned a place but could you give me directions. I am trying to go riding this weekend even if it is a short one. I have the bug!!!
Posted by: bruteforcebob
take 35 south to purcell, go to main street in purcell and head east, town ends at the train station, follow the gravel road to your right then across the tracks, you'll cut back north, and just find a spot that you like.
Posted by: Seven77
well thank you for that. Might be heading out there tommorow.
Posted by: bearaf
You'll go back North past the train station and youwill see what looks like a big entrance that turns east towards the river, go past that about 100 yrds and you can drive easily onto the river.
Posted by: Seven77
Just want to let you know you saved my sanity!!

Blew out a stabilizer muscle this weekend, due to old age and stupidity. I Don't think I'll be going quaddin for awhile. Meaning I won't be going to River Mist in the morning.

where is rivermist from edmond??? If a couple of ya are meeting out there i might be able to meet up with ya.

Trip 7's,
Rivermist is about 20 Miles South of I-40 on highway 99 (us377) located at Mile Marker 200 on I-40. It is about halfway between Seminole and Ada. You will come to a 4 way stop. Go about 1 Mile and cross the river bridge. Then Make illegal U-Turn in highway and turn off to the right BEFORE getting to the bridge. You can park under the bridge.

WHAT IS THIS "MAKE ILLEGAL U-TURN" CRAP????? You should not be encouraging new members to do something illegal. I am disappointed in you Jason. You of all people should be encouraging us to follow the rules and not do something illegal........ OH that's right, then you would be out or work. ( I could not resist busting your chops.)

I know some good places closer to Edmond. Yell at me when you go to the river, I'll meet ya there, I know all kinds of spots to get on at. Not much of a fan of driving all the way to Purcell. I live in Norman

there is 2 good places just in Norman to get to the river. I just heard that there is a place to go just off of Bryant in OKC.

00700r00 that is also where i go to get on at norman. i usually park behind the apartments in that field.

I usually just take the whole truck and trailer to the riverbed. I also get on at I-44. Theres a few other spots that are a little less known too. The water is getting really low, trucks are starting to travel it. I havent made any runs between the bridges this year yet but that is a good ride. The only good thing about not getting any rain is that the river gets low We'll have to set up some rides b4 long.
Posted by: Brink74868
Had a blast yesterday at the ol' rivermist. Took Meathead and got stuck on the way to the bridge. Had to pull the Mountaineer/trailer out with the Grizzly. Other than that, (and the dead dog I parked next to) I had a great time. When the sunburn heals, I will be better than new.

I am trying to get hold of the guy that told me about it and hopefully get him to show me some time this weekend. I live in moore also, close to the big walmart. Still healing, finally went to docs, he couldn't believe how sore I was still, so X-Rays, He supects I Broke, cracked or bruised some ribs. Tests and Good Drugs. Hopefully Weekend after this I'll be able to RIDE. =-)
Be cool if someone new of a River Access point for me off of May and Memorial. LOL
L8R!!! Everyone have a great safe riding weekend.
BTW, I am a little curious about taking your switching your tires back to stock for the river, just cause stock runs better in the sand?
Posted by: out18law18
Yea Mike, mud tires just dig a bottomless pit when in loose sand plus the big lugs offer more resistance to have to push around. I am not sure that my stockers are gonna be great but i am sure they will be better than my bugs. BTW my stockers are actually off a polaris and i think that they are radial carlisle badlands XC tires. I think that Brent has had good results with his Bighorns as far as sand riding goes, but you would have to ask him about it..
Posted by: TheSuzukiKing
Since I pretty much just have to stay at home, anyone care to share their weekend riding adventures so far? Live my weekend thru yours.
Thanks.
Posted by: Brink74868
Raptor Chief,
The only riding that I know of at Eufala (for sure) is below the dam. Just go to the dam and on the south side, go down below. There are many trails above the river bed and if you get there before I think 11:00 (when they release water from the lake), you can ride the river bed.
Jason
Posted by: RaptorChief
Thanks for the info Brink, I guess we are going to look for somewhere else to go. We got ahold of someone out there and they said there is not much area for riding...not a full weekend of it anyways...now we are looking maybe AR. anyone got any ideas...ready to ride and looking for somewhere different this weekend for camping and riding....
Posted by: Jamesh921
Mike,
We rode at Holdenville Lake this weekend. Hope you heal up soon so you can go play again.
Raptor,
You can get a full days ride below the dam at Eufaula. I don't know how far down river you can go, but I've been at least 15 and there are trails and hills in various areas. Course, some of them are kinda hard to find unless you know where they are. Even still, there's plenty to keep you entertained.
If you wanna go to Arkansas, you can hit the trails in Mena. Mountain trail riding is pretty good there. There is a campground near there called "Wolf Pen Gap". They have cabins and RV hook-ups for rent and you can ride to the trails from camp. Here's a link to their website

Good luck,

this is kinda late, but sunday me Jed and brian went to lake murray, hit some killer holes. I've never been as muddy as I was sunday and mud is my main course of action! great ride. Jed bent a tierod about 10 minutes into the ride, but I took it off and beat it straight with a stick (caveman style) and sent him to oriellys to get some car tierod clamps to strengthen it up and we were off again. brian got to break-in his new kitty kat 400 in some pretty nasty holes. for a 400 that thing is super in the mud! I ended up finding a spot that was an inlet full of cat tails and looked like a swamp and decided to try it, about 30 seconds later I thought I was going to lose my bike it immediatly sunk to the fenders in mud, got winched out and decided not to do it agian. later we found a really sloppy hole and decided to try it, all 3 of us got stuck, pulled out and tried it again. played there for probably 2-3 hours slinging mud 30ft in the air. good times. too bad andy wasnt with us!
Posted by: TheSuzukiKing
Thanks for sharing. Almost like being there, but not quite. Hopefully I'll Quad soon!!!! =-)
Thank You guys.
Posted by: RaptorChief
Thanks James, we got told they only had about 5 miles there to ride...that Wolf Pen Gap, we checked into and really want to go, but they are full this weekend...darn!!!! Thinking maybe Clayton Lake or somewhere in BigFoot territory! Thanks for the info!!!!

Sounds like fun. Only thing it is the wrong weekend. We are hosting the "Smith" reunion at our house on the 17 th. It will be a party, with ribs, brisket and ham and all the trimmings. Super Redneck food. If you wil let me know where you might be on Saturday night? I might bring you some fixings. Oh Sh*t that will be a week before the gantherin. Well I might just bring you some fixings that weekend too. Just depends on how much KoolAid I get to consuming.
Later,

Hey Ronnie,
Feel free to bring your "Kool-Aid" and fixin's with you and stop on by "this" saturday (June 10th).
We plan on camping at Justin's place (about a mile downriver from Hwy 99 bridge where the boat sticks out over the river). Don't know yet whether we'll camp down on the river or up on the bank next to his trailer, but we'll be there somewhere close and easy to find.
We'll ride most of the day and then set up camp late that afternoon. Hope you guys can make it.

The one we ride at is
[http://www.redrivermotorcycletrails.com/] It is located in Meunster Texas just west of Gainsville. It is about 2500 acres with about 5 miles of Red River Access. Good place.
There is also Red River ATV park north of Bonham. http://www.redriveratv.net/
IT IS SMALL.... only about 400 acres, and not worth the price of admission in my opinion. There is also a new place in Paris. Hope this helps.
For some reason, I can't get the links to work. YOU will have to type the web page in your browser.

Well, let's see - Mike got an infection in his leg and the Doc won't let him ride the river this weekend. John forgot that Saturday was his once-per-month poker game so he "may" not make it.
It looks like Dave and I are the only ones still going, and Dave has to work until about 2:00 pm. So, I guess we won't be able to hook up with you guys until you get back.

I think the Silver Creek cabins are closer to Broken Bow. We stay at Rebel Hill, just east of Antlers.
Rebel Hill is only about 5 miles east of Antlers. It is close to the trailhead that a bunch of us rode like two years ago. We have stayed here a couple of times since then. Good folks, VERY quite, and peaceful. They also have horses to rent.

Sorry I never made it to the river. This family reunion thing is really getting in my way of play time.
Family reunion + wifes' list of to do's to get ready for the reunion = Ronnie has no time to play!!!!!!! Enough said.
I would be having a fit about no play time, but it is my side of the family that we are hosting the reunion for.
We will catch you on the next ride. After next weekend, It will be do as Ronnie's wants the rest of the summer.

Just thought I would pass this along. We just went to Clayton Lake, it is real nice there. The camping area is good, your not allowed to ride in the camp area, but the trail starts right across the road. The guy that takes care of it is real easy to work with also. Clean facilities as well... The wife took some really nice pictures of the place...about 3 hour drive, but well worth it!!! Had to share that...

James, even mike hanson says he will be on this trip.

If I have healed by then, I'll be there!!!! I guess I can always wrap my leg in PLASTIC. LOL. New tires and wheels are supposed to be in by the end of the week, be awesome to get to try em out. Hopefully if this happens, I'll be able to stay on my quad this time without injury. Maybe put a roll cage on it. The ribs have healed nicely.
Gonna do my best. My car is not capable of making it down under the bridge without getting stuck, so I park on top on the other side of the river. Someday when I grow up I want another truck.
Hope to see you guys there. =-)

Ronnie,
We looked for you. Sorry you didn't make it - we had a heck-of-a good time saturday. A bunch of people from several different camps got together and took off on a midnight ride that night. Somebody was passing around some moonshine, and as you can imagine, there were more than a few people who got pretty "toe-up". We finally went to bed around 3:30 or so, then got up on Sunday and did it all again. I'm looking forward to camping down there again soon.
Brent,
Man I'd sure like to go, especially after the weekend we just had down there, but I promised my wife I'd take her to Eufaula Lake this weekend. Gotta keep the wife happy you know.
James
Posted by: Bluegoose
James.
I bet I can name at least 90 percent of the people that went on the midnight ride. I have been on that kind of ride before. You were camping in my backyard. Glad you had such a good time.
Brent,
If my kinfolks will got home on Saturday, I will be there. I haven't got to ride in over two weeks. I never go more than a week without going to the river. I'm starting to get depressed and am thinking about running away from home. Only thing keeping me from running away is I know I will have to come home and face the wife. Just let this family reunion be over.
I really need a trip on the river.

Hello all,
I am going to be a newby to the oklahoma city area the end of this september. On my way out there I will be stopping by the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree in Richfield Utah to ride for the week. Is any body from here planning on going up there. If so maybe we can hook up and ride some so atleast I will know someone when I get there to OKC. Should be a fun trip.
Take care
Posted by: TheSuzukiKing
went to the I-44 bridge yesterday. WOW, it's a sand pit quorry also, it rocks. When the river is low, the guys said you can ride all the way past Tuttle, or all the way to Norman the other direction.
River was very high yesterday, but there are enough trails to ride on to have a great time. A guy high centered his truck, while I was getting stones to get him unstuck, rock hit me in the ankle bone, so I guess I'm accident prone. Not fair as this time I was helping this family get unstuck.

LMAO, I've got today off, so I went and drove around I-44 and the Oklahoma River, thinking to myself "where in the hell could this guy be riding?". It didn't even occur to me that it might not be the OK River.

Brent,
I wondered what happened yesterday. not really! I was so worn out from the familly reunion and still had some kinfolks here until this morning, I didn't go to the river again this weekend. That is 3 weekends in a row that I haven't been to the river. Watch out next weekend I'm going!!!!!!!
Let me know when you all are going and we will try to ride with you.
Ronnie

It's the bridge on I-44 is Paralled by a train bridge. Since I am from the north, I have to cross the bridge, turn around on the frontage road, cross the bridge heading north bound, as soon as you get to the other side (North Side Northbound lane), look down you can see a road. The exit right after the bridge is 149th street where JR's and the I-44 Speedway. If you get to 149th exit you've gone too far.
While we were down there, 5 people that had never been there before showed up. Awesome riding. I have heard that from time to time there is vandalizm that happens. =-(
When I first got there, a family was camping under the bridge. Everyone was really nice, had a great time.
Pretty cool having someplace close to ride, when everyone else is busy. I went down there by myself, but rode with a bunch of people once down there.
Sorry can't be more specific, it's a river that runs under an interstate. Always seen people riding down there, finally checked it out and was very impressed. And it's so close. There was a bunch of guys with Jeeps, bitchin cause they lived 8 miles away, always wondered how to get down there and never have. One of them stuck his jeep so bad, took em all day to get it out. I think at first they didn't think that was gonna happen.

Has anyone rode @ purcell lately? I was thinking of maybe going there to ride this sunday , if the river is too hight @ rivermist. I would hate to get all the way there and the cops run us off or something.

One option if you go to River Mist and the river is too full, Big Red's is not too far away. I'm waiting on some clamps in the mail before I can ride my quad. Hope they came in today, if not. Looks like a Street Bike weekend.
All parts have came in quad is back together ready to ride. For Sunday just need to know where and when.
Also one of my buds Birthday is Saturday, we'll all be at Bricktown Brewery around 8PM if anyone wants to come out. Waffle and Pistole Whippin Ike are the bands playing. Gonna be a blast.

Brent,
I just got home from the river. You can go any where you want on any kind of bike.
Tyler and I have been at the river all day. We rode to the railroad bridge and it wasn't even a challenge.
We are going again at 10 am tomorrow. I left my 4 wheelers at the river at my friends house. To much kool aid for me to drive and Ty hasn't had enough experience with the trailers yet.
Hope this helps,

FAKE TEXANS...
Bubba Wayne and Billy Bob, who are both from Enid, Oklahoma, traveled to Lewisville, Texas for a vacation.
While walking along a busy downtown street, they see a sign in a store window which reads, "Suits $5.00 each, Shirts $2.00 each and Trousers $2.50 a pair."
Bubba Wayne says,"Woo Hoo, Billy Bob! We could buy a whole gob of these clothes, take 'em back to Enid, sell 'em to all our friends and make a fortune fer us." Bubba Wayne continues, "Now when we go in there, don't you say a word, okay? Just let me do the talkin' 'cause if they hear your Okie accent, they might think we're ignorant, and they won't wanna sell them clothes to us. Now, I'll talk in a slow, fake Texan drawl so's they won't know."
They go in and Bubba Wayne says with his best fake Texan drawl, "I'll take 50 of them thar suits at $5.00 each, 100 of them thar shirts at $2.00 each, and 50 pairs of them thar trousers at $2.50 each. I'll just back up my pickup and......"
The owner of the shop interrupts, "Ya'll from Oklahoma, ain'cha?"
"Well....yeah," says a surprised Bubba Wayne. "How come you know that?"
The owner replies, "Cause this here's a dry-cleaners."

If you pass the bridge South Bound, you can pull off on to the wide shoulder and see the road that leads under the bridge. On the east side. The road starts when the steep hill tapers off. Actually very easy.BR>

Planning on going to diamond head to float the river this weekend but should be at murray the weekend after this one.

Maybe some of you guys can help me out.
My 05 Kodiak is broke down and I'm not sure where to start looking for the problem. At first, my battery went dead so I was having to use the pull start cord to start it. No problem, I figured I'd pick up a battery later and go ahead and ride for the day.
Well, before the day was over I was riding along when it just died. We checked all the fuses and they are fine. We hooked up jumper cables and it would turn over but wasn't getting any fire at the spark plug. Anyone have any ideas on where to start looking?

I think stator also. If you didnt have a good Batt in it, the stator was over worked. Pull a plug , check for spark. If no spark , unplug the rectifier, watch for spark, if it sparks like crazy, then its a 99% chance its the stator.

Whether I get the quad going or not, a few of us are going down on the south canadian at rivermist saturday evening. Gonna cook some burgers and shoot off some fireworks about a mile down river from the bridge. You guys are welcome to come along if you want.
BTW, did you guys know that fireworks are half price on July 5th?

Are you coming to our get together at the river on Saturday? We are planning on shooting off fireworks Saturday night right where you are talking about.
Come early and ride first.
I can't get a part for my hay baler until Monday so what the heck, I'll just have to play this weekend.
Ronnie

By the way, the river is extremely low. I crossed it at Asher today and it was almost dry and at Rivermist it is almost the same way.
Super dry. Watch out, now comes the speed quads. Both of my boys are parking the grizzlies and going to the sport qauds.
Ronnie

Ronnie,
I had no idea you guys were planning a get-together. Are you guys meeting in front of Justin and Al's place? If so, that's where we were planning on hanging out. If not, let me know where you guys will be and we'll hook up with you guys. If we all combine our fireworks, it should make for a great show.
It doesn't look like I'll get my quad running by tomorrow. The guy (mechanic) that was going to help me with it has to work tomorrow, so I guess I'll just drive the truck. We plan on getting on the river about 6:00 - 6:30 pm. I'll be in a red '03 Ford double cab pick-up. Look us up.
If you are going to RC's place, we'll head down there too. Just let me know where you'll be and we'll get together. Should be a blast for everybody.

Recipe for a super bottle rocket is a wooden pencil or clear plastic bic pen and a rocket engine.
Bottle rockets were fun to have wars with, or to shoot under water. (not the rocket engine model, kill someone.)

Murray was pretty fun, wish you guys would have stayed around longer or I'd a got there earlier. John was out chasing tail Friday night, he stayed out till 3, so we were waiting on him Saturday morning.
We weren't out there 15 minutes when the first accident occured. John breaking in his new Brute Force flipping it into a ditch completely upside down. There is some good to that and some bad. The mechanics from Altus never tighened his handle bars when it was assembled. Could have been dangerous down the road. Good side of that when he flipped his quad, instead of bending the handle bars then just folded back.
Was very hot, but we went swimming every time we got close to the water. Did some night ridding, Awesome weekend.
Wanted to hang out with Andy, Bob and Jed some more, but you guys were out of there, didn't do I-44, just went home.

Jesus son, your accident prone! you need a bigger pic of the first one!!!!!!!! lmao BTW... I went over the south canadian near Union City this morning and its dried up, just puddles no running water at all! so I dont know how 44 bridge will look.
Posted by: TheSuzukiKing
The first was taken by a female with her phone before the emergency room. The second was taken this morning when it was time to change the bandage for the first time. Seems yes accident prone lately.
I've gotta do something, when this affects my riding, this is way out of hand.

Posted by: out18law18
i took my truck down the river at I-44 today and there was no running water at all, just a puddle here and there. Looks like there are not going to be many enjoyable riding areas until we get some rain or at least less heat.
Mike you gotta stop thinking that you are a teenager LOL.... hope it heals well though.

Went down and rode on the river at Purcell last weekend, water is only about 18" at it's deepest, had a great time, but damn it's hot.

Brent,
I went across the bridge this morning at Rivermist and it is the same as dried up. You will be able to go as far as you want to. There was about 10 guys that went to lake Eufala yesterday and are suppose to be home today. It was just to hot for me to go that far.
I had to go buy the wife a Tahoe Transprt ToyBox trailer anyway yesterday. I can't wait to go to Little Sahara now. My own bedroom, own shower, own potty and she has a complete kitchen, and a place to haul the toys, just can't get any better than this. Well lower gas prices would be nice.
What time are you going to be at the bridge tomorrow, we might just make it.

I went to rivermist the other day about two weeks ago and made it to the pipeline in 20 minutes went at least two miles without seeing any water bigger than a quad sized puddle. and that was before the week of 100 plus degree days so they are probably dry now. man we need some rain bad!!!!!

there are a few of us going to ride the north canadian tomorrow afternoon if anyone wants to come just show up. we will be getting on at Martin Luther King ave. and I40 in OKC. there is some good river riding there and also several trails. it doesnt go dry so should be fine. thankfully they put a dam for the canal and now its got water all the time!

The ride from Rivermist to Asher bridge and back is on for this sunday. If any of you guys and gals can make it , you will have a good time.
Hey Bob, how about taking a day off for this ride?
Andy and Bobby, i know this kind of ride isnt much of a challenge for your quads, but its still a good ride.
Andy S. How about a birthday ride ?
Mike, Has your arm heald up enough to ride?
James, Did you get your quad fixed?
Ronnie will you be done with the hay?
And anyone else. I can give you the details if you wish . This ride will require you to bring some gas and food with you. It will be about 80 miles. I rode 62 a few weekes ago without the gas light coming on, but i will probably need gas on the way back.
Brent

I would like to go but i will be working on sunday. And after about 50miles mine is dry as a bone as far as fuel goes, must have to do with the rejetting that i did.
On a side note i have a pair of diamond plate CV guards for sale. they fit a 650/700 praire and prob on other kawi models. They will need to be "modified" as the back set of mounting holes were not drilled in the right spot, it is as simple as drilling two holes though. Also you will have to provide your own mounting hardware (6 ubolts and nuts with washers) Pics can be provided and i would like to get $20.00 for these. Also I have a red rack bag for sale. It is a pretty plain model but works just fine. $20.00 will take it and i can take pics if anyone needs them.

I just got the stitches out Monday. The doc didn't seem to want to take them out after seeing my arm, but when looking at the calendar, he took em out and put some paper strapping tape across them. I asked him If I could start pumping iron again, he said quickly NO. That my arm could be tore back opened, so anything I do especially outdoors will depend on how my arm looks on Friday. I don't wanna do anything stupid this month, as I'm taking my bike to D.C. on the 12th, would suck to ruin my trip. My weekend activities are still pending a close examination of my arm. It's still slightly opened, sure some good river water would do it good. I know, probably be easier to just cut it off, but....

Brent,
No my quad is still dead. We tore it down and tried to fix it last week but haven't been able to find the problem. It sucks too because I wanted to go to Mudstock in Fort Smith, Ark this weekend.
I called the two nearest repair shops but they have a 3 week waiting list before they'll even look at it.
I'd try to explain everything we did to it, but since I'm not much of a mechanic, I'd probably get it wrong. Mike could probably explain it better.
What I can say is that it's all torn down and now sitting in my buddy's garage. I'd pay somebody to fix it (or buy the beer) but I can't find anyone who has the time and knowledge to mess with it.

Posted by: TheSuzukiKing
He was cruisin it down the river, dead battery he had to pull start it. He'd just went through some water when it died. (may not be related)
He has purchased a new battery.
Anywho, we checked all the fuses, ohmed the stator, checked for voltage, even checked the pulse generator, which registered a change. Ohmed the regulator/rectifier. Ohmed the coil, checked for voltage at the coil, showed milli-volts, I believe the input is supposed to be around 14volts, output from 25,000 - 35,000. Output read in milli-volts.
Basically he's trying to figure out why no spark now.
It's a 2005 Kodiak 450 I believe.
Honestly, been a long time since troubleshooting an electrical system on a bike. Been since they had points. =-)
Posted by: bruteforcebob
2 things off the top of my head did you Ohm the plug cap ? I think it should be like 10ohms also did you check the plug wire ? I know its a long shot but I've had several that didnt "seem" to have a spark but it ended up having a crack in the wire and was firing to the frame instead of the cap.
Bob "I wish I was there to help" McGregor

James left with coil in hand, dunno if he had it tested or not?
Posted by: JBC4X4911
does anybody know the tolerances to meter out the coil rectifier and stater for james' 05 kodiak? we tore it down and tested everything, we need to know if the tolerances are good. for example the rectifier was oming out on the 3 legs going to the stater at 1.53 to 1.58. all 3 legs were between those two numbers.

Rivermist to Asher bridge is 26.5 miles. Not the 36 i was told. The ride was great. got to see a good crash, the kid broke his collar bone bad. Thats what you get for riding a polaris. I plan to take the kids down to rivermist soon to ride. Maybe you can get Ty and meet up with us?

Hey guys....
I know I don't post here often and I know I have been kind of a crappy friend lately because I have been lying low and all that...it happens with me from time to time. But soon I plan to get out more and ride more this fall I SWEAR .
I wanted to ask you guys a favor. If any of you know anyone looking for a 2 wheel street bike please refer them to the following link:
http://www.centraloklahomaatvclub.com/bikesale.htm
you can access it off of the club's main page under the "bike sale" link
If you guys can pass on any info to help the seller I would really appreciate it.
That link (Which I can not get the forum to accept) has several pics of the bike.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Looks like the ride had been changed to the north canadian river on sunday. not sure on the time yet but i expect to see brent and andy there, maybe even bobman?

I'll be there, probably about noon-ish. from I40 take 35 north to 23rd street exit and go east about a mile and a half or 2. you'll see the bridge turn south right before the bridge.

Well I haven't been here for awhhile. We went on a 5 state trip looking for show calves. Not much riding time for us right now. Buying show animals and working on the sandrail = well no riding time. Oh well it is hot anyway.
It is bound to cool off and slow down for us sometime. Have fun riding guys.
