Some friends and i rode the river and it was way to high for sport quads and a little to high for the Fatcat. Only got to go about 4.5 miles down stream but still had a good time . 1 drowned out suzuki quad racer and I almost lost the Fatcat to quick sand as i was helping the quadracer out from the hole it was it. There was sand over the rear tire and with the angle that the bike was at the bottom of the back of the engine was gettting ready to be sandy. That stuff is bottomless!!!

Well I'm selling my Red 05 Brute 750, has 27' mudlites on C series, DG5 module, Black/Marron springs. Only has 350 miles and 50 hours on it. I will make a very good deal to a club Member.

I purchased a GNCC racer Brute with everything already on it. I don't need 2 of them.

Just wanted to thank every one that helped out with my dad and let every one know that he is gonna be alright. He dislocated his hip. Dr. said wasn't a serious injury but one of the most painful next to getting stabbed or shot. Hope the rest of the ride went better and the cookout was good.

Andy,

Glad to hear that he is doing OK. The dogs you left were good, but BruteForceBob bogarded the mustard until after he washed the Brute and played in the shower. I didn't get to ride, but I did get to help with the food disposal My compliments to the chef (HavinSomeFun) on some dogs well done. Next time, I'll actually contribute something other than smashingly good looks.

Guys,
I have some really bad news. Mike Waldron who posts as Suzukiking on this forum lost his dad in a motorcycle accident this past weekend. They had just left for Sante Fe, New Mexico, got about 90 miles from home when the accident happened. Mike was riding with his father at the time.

I know many of you guys know him so if you want to send your condolences his email is myr1150@hotmail.com

James

Posted by: medic52

Yes we found the the lilly pad pond that thing is pretty cool to look at.

Kevin I would love to go but am booked solid this weekend. have a good trip and be careful

James sorry to hear about the accident.

Brent I need to get with you to give you your strap back.

Ang

Posted by: HavinSomeFun

Andy, I did have the sale lined out before I offered on the other one. I was just hoping a club member would take advantage. It is now at a dealership and they will make the profit on it.

Kevin

Posted by: trailride

Andy S.

Yea I do need to get with ya before next thursday . I will leave for LS on Friday morning and will need the strap then.

Where is old Mike waldron @. He sent me an e-mail a few months ago and told me to delete his info from the mailing list. Then I havent heard from him since. I wish the best for him and his family. I know how it feels to lose a family member to a bike crash. This weekend will be my first bike ride in 2 years since i gave it up . I had lost 2 many friends and family to bike crashes to ride them any more. Most of my ride will be in a large group, so it should be safe. If anyone is interested in riding in the poker run this weekend give me a shout.

Brent

Posted by: medic52

Brent I would love to go but I dont have a bike anymore either so unless you have an extra I'm out I eill get your strap to you before you leave.

Well, Dave and I attended our very first ATV Rodeo tonight in Kansas, Oklahoma. Yep, that's right - there's a town in oklahoma called Kansas - population: 685!!!

The ATV Rodeo was hosted and sponsored by the Outlaw Rebels ATV Group (they prefer to refer to themselves as a "group" not a club). You can find them on the web at www.rebeloutlaws.freehomepage.com

We had a great time getting to know some of the members and contestants. Dawn (one of the group leaders) is a wonderful person with a very bright personality and we really enjoyed the short time we got to spend with her.

One of the reasons we went to this Rodeo is because Dave and I are contemplating hosting our own ATV Rodeo within the next couple of months and we wanted to see what we would be getting in to. In short, EVERYBODY had a great time and we feel this is a great way to promote our sport.

In their Rodeo, they held three racing events to participate in - Poles, Barrels and Flag races. And let me tell you, it ain't as easy as you might think. These folks worked very hard at winning their events and I was impressed at the competition. It was absolutely amazing at how well these guys AND girls were able to ride. As a matter of fact, one female rider turned in one of the BEST times in the barrel racing event. I was impressed.

Anyway, Dave and I will possibly host one of these events in the near future and the Outlaw Rebels have offered to help. We've not yet decided when and where to hold it, but we're currently looking at the Seminole rodeo grounds or possibly even the Agriplex Center in Ada, Ok. And we haven't set a date yet. We're just now starting to gather the information we need - that's why we went to this event in Kansas, Ok.

We have decided a few things though, like which events we might hold. But, we would like your input first and got from there. We're thinking of having 5 events such as;

1) Pole Racing
2) Barrell Racing
3) Sled Pull
4) Mud Bogg
5) Obstacle Course

We're also looking at maybe having

A) Rodeo Clowns
B) Trick Riders
C) Poker Run on the South Canadian River
D) and MANY other kinds of entertainment (asking for suggestions from you here).

I guess what I'm asking is, would you guys be interested in participating in an event like this in Seminole or Ada?

Tell me what you think.

James (it seems like a good idea but you tell me) Hale

Posted by: gsettle081

Ginny and I are in.... Particularly the sled pull. That is a BLAST! James, PM me, I have a guy in Houston that built one for ATVs. Complete with the rider, weight box, transfer, etc. It takes at least a 500 to pull it. The little Hondas like mine won't even get it untracked.
This could be a lot of fun!!!

Posted by: out18law18

A drag race would be nice. Thats all i can think of for now but if i come up with anything else will let you know.

Posted by: HavinSomeFun

The team green brute 750 is in my garage. It was 1800 miles round trip and I think it was worth it.

I'll probably go if its on sunday, sat. is little ones b-day.

Posted by: HavinSomeFun

Well you better go, you were one of the three. Me you and Jerry so far. Yes Sunday and I don't have a clue where to go.

Posted by: bearaf

Hey guys i have a quick question, first I can't find my owners manual (it's lost in the garage),I was told that I could use any 10w -40 in the brute 650. I just changed the oil and used pennz 10w - 40. Is that a mistake or should it be alright. Just don't want to screw up the engine.

Thanks,

Aaron

Posted by: HavinSomeFun

That should be ok. Shouldnt hurt a thing. However, when it gets colder out I would change to a thinner grade.

How are you liking that 650?

Posted by: bearaf

Thanks Kevin, I love the 650, i wish I would have waited and picked up yours! Oh well, it's my wifes and she loves it and she'll finally ride with me now that we got rid of the Polaris. I've been riding the 650 since we got it, so i hope my KFX will still run! We just about have the 650 the way we want it but now I'm looking for wheels, tires and a cdi. Been thinking about the 25" super grip tire and wheel package. Not sure which cdi yet. We'll have to go ride before too long.

Aaron

Posted by: HavinSomeFun

I don't blame you on the super grips, what a deal they are and they look great. I know Brute Force Bobs look great and work great. I would think about getting the 26' set up. They just look better on the wheeler.

Andy "cheaper is better" b.

Sure,
I can grab the sawz all and get the muffler mod done kinda quick except for the welding part. as far as the rack it'll take 20 or so minutes to get it close to perfect. We can straigten the bars as well.

I allready have bars on the way as long as the guy that i am buying them from doesn't get blown away by Rita. What day were you thinking? and hopefully some time late afternoon to early evening.

1). I need to see what kind of work schedule I will have for I am starting a new job on the 4th.

2). After Rita lands, we may have to sell a quad for gas money to get there and back!! BR>

Well, we have a verbal agreement to lease a rodeo arena for Saturday November 5th for an ATV Rodeo/Skills contest, Mud Bogg and possibly a Sled Pull (we're still looking for someone who owns a sled locally).

The arena is located just north of Wewoka, Ok.

Directions from Wewoka: Go north on Hwy 56 one mile to Lake Road. Go west on Lake Road and make an immediate right on the blacktop road. Go north for 6/10ths of a mile until you see the arena on your right.

There are no OU or OSU football games that weekend, so everyone should be looking for something to do besides sit around the house. We're planning on a big turnout.

Events will start at 2:00 pm and run until their done.

Between events, there will be other entertainment such as trick riders. We're even thinking of making that an event in itself. Contestants would be judged by the crowd. So, are there any trick riders in this group???

I'm also "trying" to get a group from the Lawn-Tractor Association to come demo their high-powered, tricked out Lawn Tractors.

We're also looking for someone to act as a Rodeo Clown (possibly even 2 people to work as a team). Basically, this person (or persons) would dress up like a rodeo clown and adapt their comical act to the 4-wheeler crowd. A set of horns mounted atop an ATV has lots of comical potential. Any volunteers out there who would like to take on this position???????????

We're also looking for sponsors. If you know anyone who would like to sponsor this event, please have them get in touch with me ASAP.

There will be a full concession available on-site, but seating is limited. You can back your truck up next to the fence around the arena or bring your lawn chairs. Either is fine, but there are no bleachers to speak of.

Anyone wanting to volunteer to help with the event can email or PM me. We'll take all the help we can get.

This is going to be really fun guys. Hope to see you there.

James

Posted by: Bluegoose

Brent,
You are planning the Little Sahara trip for the wrong weekend. Fall break for Oklahoma schools is Oct 20-23, anybody that has riding age children or teaches will have a long weekend. We are going up there Oct19-23. I need sand bad. I bent a rear trailing arm on the last trip, so only got to ride one day and then came home. I now have chromolly rear arms, if I bend them I quit.

Come on Oct 19th.

Ronnie (I need to post new pictures of my sandrail) Smith

Posted by: rxrider

Anyone looking for something to do next weekend (Oct. 1 & 2) could always head to Honobia, OK and attend the Bigfoot festival. I believe I heard something about folks bringing their ATVs and going on Bigfoot tours. I also heard that there will be groups riding from Clayton to Honobia on Bigfoot hunts. Also, the annual Antlers Deer Festival will be going on. They'll have an outdoor show and chili cook-off. Last year they had chainsaw artists there.

Who says we don't have classy entertainment in SE Oklahoma?

Shawna

Posted by: trailride

Ronnie, Are you saying it will be busy the 16-17th ? I would like to go both weekends ,but my wife has something going the next weekend. I really expected Sandfest to be really busy, but we couold have came down saturday morning and got a primative site, no problem. I think the gas crunch has alot of people not willing to travel.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I was recently contacted by a liaison for a major television production company. The production company will be working on a project in Western Oklahoma and they are in need of ATV's to transport film gear and crew members to the exact shooting location. They are looking for utility ATV's only. Ideally, they would like to have ATV's with trailer hitches and if possible they would like to have one or two small utility trailers to haul behind them. Also, if anyone has a Rhino, Gator, Mule or other similar vehicle they would be interested in using that type vehicle as well.

Here is where the "what's in it for me?" factor comes into play. They are willing to pay you for the use of your ATV. From what I understand, and mind you this is all extremely preliminary, they will be wanting to lease your ATV for approximately 3 weeks. So if you have your ATV sitting in the garage or shed and would like to put it to use to generate a little extra spending money to take that ultimate riding trip please contact me via E-mail.

I know that last time Central Oklahoma ATV worked with the entertainment industry it turned out to be a very positive experience and EVERYONE involved had a great time. So to recap, we are looking for the following equipment, for which you would be fairly compensated:

4 Wheel drive ATV's - With trailer hitch if available

Rhino, Mule or Gator type vehicle

Remember, you will be compensated for the use of your machine

If interested please mail Central OK ATV Club and I will contact you as soon as I have more information.

Thank you for your time and consideration

I have a ? or three for you guys that deal with Phil's Cycle and ATV. I know that he has a dyno, but is it set up for quads? If so does he do jetting based on the dyno results. If so does he have all the needles, shims, and jets needed or would i have to provide a "dyno Jet" kit or something similar? I know this is somewhat complicated of a question but i would rather hear what his customers think rather than call him up and possibly get a stock answer like "bring it on down and we will take care of it for you" if you know what i mean.

On to my second topic, Kevin what do you have planned for this weekend and does it allow any time to fiddle with my prairie?

Andy "Phew i'm done" bradfield

Posted by: JeffGordonHater

That is a good question! I dont know if the dyno is set up for quads or not yet. He has had it for a while but I was told he had some learning to do on it before he could start using it properly. But Phil has all the parts in the world out there for jetting different quads. Give him a call and ask for Phil, Tyla, or James. They are really great for taking care of all types of atv riders. Everything listed in my signiture came from Phils except the quad.

Posted by: bruteforcebob

yes yes yes... no dont need your own jet kit.

Posted by: trailride

Andy, Why the need for jetting. Are you getting a new pipe?

Brent

Posted by: out18law18

no pipe just going to do the muffler mod and get a uni filter - diamond g racing intake. Just with the intake the instructions say that you need to rejet. Just figured that i would do it the way with the best results with out a lot of guessing.

Posted by: trailride

Andy move the rear mainjet to the front carb , and put a 145 in the rear . Turn the air screws 1-1/2 to 3 turns out each. You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around. Thats what its all about.

Posted by: TyShark9

Hey guys.. haven't posted in a while, but jsut wanted to say I will be in Purcell riding tomorrow if anyone is heading that way. I'll be in a black Z-71 with a black polaris predator. Should be there around noon or 1.

Mike(nukeim) or Aaron,
Do you guys remember how to get to the track that is close to stillwater. I remember you told me about it, and I am thinking about going up there on monday or tuesday ... maybe there won't be too many people there. Only thing I rememebr is that it is by I-35 somewhere

You bet we can meet up for a ride . We are in camps# 1&2 in the south campgrounds. Silver Z71 with a 16' white enclosed trailer. Just look for the big guy.

You guys leave me some sand to tear up the following Wednesday. Wish I could go with you guys next weekend and stay through the next weekend, but work says no. I need to think about retiring. Work just gets in the way of me playing to often.

Brent,
I have a full set of sand tires and wheels (front and back) for a KFX 700 if you run across someone wanting a set. I sold the V-Force and the guy didn't want the sand tires. Fronts are 22" Sand Stars and 22" Skat Trac Extreme Haulers (straight 9 blades) on the rear, They are mounted on Red Label Douglas wheels. They still have the little ribber titty's on them. They have been to the dunes 2 times.

Ronnie (got to go change my signature=no more V-Force) Smith

Brent, is camp sites #1 and 2 all the way down by the south entrance by the old gift shop?

Posted by: trailride

Sites #1 & 2 are in the private camping close to the heel clicker cafe. Go to www.lspsonline.com and click on "campsite reservation" and you will see the map of the campgroungs. This will give you an idea where we are.

hey guys,
Miss riding with you all. I don't have any 4 wheelers left right now ( sold them both). I bought me a big ol' PETERBILT a couple of weeks ago and have been getting it set up to haul rock. I hope to be back on the trails in a couple of months though. A new one will be in my future this spring. So keep the paint up and get them muddy for me and I will see you all soon.

hey all, well I'm going to start the construction of my snorkels tonight and hopefully finish them tonight... wish me luck!

Posted by: Bluegoose

Okay guys how was the sand?? I'm going up Wednesday until next Sunday and need to know how the sand is.

Ronnie

Posted by: JeffGordonHater

The sand was choppy as hell. All the dunes were rounded off,not a single lip or razorback anywhere and there was still alot of water at the base of some of the bigger dunes. I left today at 4 and the wind started to pick-up so it should be smoother by Wednesday. The campsites were packed but we met some really nice folks from Kansas and we rode for alot of hours despite the rough sand. Couldnt have asked for better weather, the moon was out and made for some really great night riding. Think we are going back Halloween now.

Brent, I went by your site Saturday around 2 but I didnt see any quads so I will catch you next time.

Steve

Posted by: bruteforcebob

THE SNORKELS ARE DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! turned out pretty good too I think, no need for jetting!

Guys
Check this link out. Put your zip code in, and a picture. It will show where you live....

We can do one just for the Central Oklahoma ATV group

By the time we left sunday about 3 or so. The wind was already filling in all the ruts and the sand was getting very smooth.

Out of 17 riders we had only 5 crashes . Not bad huh.

Hey Guys,
We found this place last weekend http://www.home.earthlink.net/~bigredoffroad/ and went to check it out. It's a pretty neat place to ride and we're going to go back on Sunday. Plenty of challenging hills to climb, wooded trails and plenty of jumbs. It's an all-around fun riding area. If anyone would like to head out there with us this Sunday post here and we'll set a time and place to meet.

how were the trails as far as quads go? I saw on their web site that most trails are 49" wide and that is just 1" over 4 feet. not much room for a utility quad , especially with after market tires.

Andy "mine is big and wide" B

Brent,
We "should" have a ruling from the judge sometime this coming week. But, we've been told that before so we'll see.

Andy,
There were a few places that it got kinda tight, but for the most part, we didn't have any trouble getting through. The owner has spent alot of time cutting these trails and has done a pretty good job. I was surprised at how well the trails were maintained.

We're gonna head out there about noon tomorrow. Will probably arrive around 12:45 or 1:00.

We've been at the Street KingsŪ annual "Poker in the Rear" hooterfest. It was held at the following location:

Everyone must be working pretty hard these days. Not much conversation going on here lately.

When's the next group ride? Big Red Offroad Park is a pretty central location for most of us. How bout headin' out there this weekend? A cookout and ride sounds good to me.

Yeah I know the site is kinda hosed right now. I have to sit down some night and call the hosting company and check out all the settings and things like that. I just keep forgetting to do so...I plan to get the site back up by Thursday.

I thought you guys had died..... Let us know where you are going this weekend. We tried to ride in Oklahoma last weekend, but blew a trailer tire, and spent 3 hours at Wal-Mart in Gainesville.

Bad as I hate to say this, Gainesville is a HICK town. I would not live there because the customers coming out of Wal-Mart were the worst buch of hicks I have ever met.
Gordon " wish we could meet and ride" Settle

Bobby,
Big Red is located in Macomb, Ok. Macomb is about 8 miles south of Tecumseh on Hwy 177. It's a very small community with only one quick-stop. So, from the Shamrock Quick Stop on 177, go 1/4 mile east to the stop sign. Turn right (south) and go one mile. Big Red is on the left side of the road.

Or, I'm open to riding somewhere else - maybe somewhere closer to Texas so Gordon and his gang can come too.

Dearest Ladies and Gentlemen of the Central Oklahoma ATV Club,

It is with a very heavy heart that I write to you... Last night here in the suburbs of Seminole, a crime of great magnitude has taken place. Sometime between the hours of 2200 and 0730 the mighty Grizzly was taken from my yard. If anyone hears of a good deal on a 4X4 Quad (large) let me know.

I had just got off of 4 LLOOOONNNNNGGGGG days at work and had to pull my brother up his driveway.. I was planning on scouting some deer territory this morning SSSOOOOO, I parked it behind the house just feet from my door and cars.. When I woke up to pee this morning, I thought there was something missing.

Losing your bike sucks!!! I am sorry to hear that. If you catch the guy, bring him down here and we will string him up. No use you wasting good ammo on a creep like that.

Where are you guys going to ride? Lake Murray would be fun. Let us know.
Gordon "my quads are locked in the garage" Settle

Jason,
Man, I'm really sorry to hear you lost your quad to a stinking "thief". I HATE theives and feel they deserve the death penalty just like murderers and rapist. Someday maybe our judicial system will catch up and delve out penalties that fit the crimes. I hope you catch the creeps - and soon!!!!

As far as a place to gather and ride goes, I'm kinda bored with Murray. And Cross Bar Ranch has too many rules, but I'm willing to hook up wherever you guys want to ride. After all, it's more about the comradarie with fellow enthusiasts than the actual ride - right?

James "just tell me where and when" Hale

Well I finally got thru to tech support at the hosting company and they reveiwed the DNS info and checked all of the stuff out and it seems as though the problem was with THEIR SERVER...my wonderfully written code was all correct hahahahaha. So they said it would take a couple of days for them to reset the Domain Name Servers and then everything should be up and running just fine.

I still have to work weekends so I can't ride anywhere this weekend.

Bob "Lolly Lolly Lolly Get Your Adverbs Here" Bobman

Posted by: nukeim

A couple of days to reset a DNS? That's freakin insane. It takes about 1.4 minutes to do it. Most servers boot faster than a lot of peoples PC's do. There isn't any interaction on the part of the lackey doing it either. Turn it off....Turn it on. Unless there's some sort of refresh or update.

You sure they weren't yanking your chain because you're a Street King and they aren't?

Posted by: Brink74868

I appreciate everyone's condolences. I have been in touch with my adjuster and I may actually get enough to buy another suitable replacement, but it looks like it will be either in the middle of or after deer season. If anyone hears of a good 4X4 large quad for sale reasonable, let me know. I am becoming a fan of either a Suzuki like Bob's or a Kawasaki Brute. I may even settle for a Kodiak 450 if the price is right. I don't know if I want another axle breaker like the last one or not.

Keep your ears open & let me know what you hear..

Thanks,

Jason

I think I have found heaven... You have to check out the ATV that I would love to have, the ArcticCat Prowler...

If everyone (100 Members only) would pitch in $40.00 each, I could add it to the Grizzly Replacement fund and just be a couple of grand short. . You can either contact me or Gordon (who should have a pretty good stash from the new guy buys the beer fund) or myself c/o Feed the children (Mine) fund and I will pick one up and bring it on the next ride.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that there is finally a side by side that will kick a Rhino's A$$!!

They even passed a law saying I can't ride a polar bear any more...something about restraining orders, crime and nature...don't remember exactly how ALL the words read... butI think those were all mentioned prominently. I will not be going to SE Oklahoma tomorrow because it is too cold.

Bob "Jason it was.....oh never mind that thought was too bad even for this group" Bobman

So Bob shedule time off from work now so you can go ride with us! If it is as cold as it is now it should be a nice slow paced ride with no one wanting to venture into a stray mud hole. In fact if we dont get some rain or snow there wont be even a puddle to ride through.
