The only reason to get the ITP's over the Skats is price. The Skats are lighter and hook up better.

Try the STU Sand Skate pay cut for mix terrain comp cut for only sand it works great on my 525

Looking for some new paddles for the new Outlaw 525. I am not a big drag racer but it will just be to tempting with the new 525. So I am looking for a v-tire that will have the best straight line hookup. I am going to get 10" rims so any opinions about the Edge vs the Sand Star is greatly appreciated.

It has been a while since I originally asked that question and since that time I now have a set of each. I have the skat Trak Edge 20x10x10 on my Outlaw 525 and i have a set of Sand Stars 20x11x9 on my wifes Predator 500.
I would hands down pick the Edge over the Sand Stars. The Sand Stars win in the looks department, but that is it. The hook-up difference is substantial. The Edge's hook up much better and side hill much better. Even though the Edge are supposed to be 10" wide and the Sand Stars are suppose to be 11" wide the Edge tires are wider. The Edges are close to the advertised 10" but the Sand Stars are not even close to 11" wide. The paddles on the Edge's are much more cupped than the Sand Stars.

I went ahead and spent the money on the Skat Edge 22-11-10x7

I spent allot of time researching them out and also regeared my bike for this 3 yrs on tires
Have buddys went the otherway on second set already
Not sure which was more cost effective!
I know the guys complain about following me with Edge they do throw a great Roost
I have noticed side hill difference also noticed hang on when sliding sidways they do grab quick
Have Cheap straight paddles on my wifes bike work ok
It is a tough choice I kind of think personal prefrence
If you have buddys that have different paddles see if they would let you try on your bike
I have one buddy has several sets as he is never happy once purchased

i have both and mostly run the itp sand stars most of the time. i take out the stak trac haulers when im going to the drags.the itp are much better for all around use i think.
