does anyone know where you can rent a quad? I have a buddy that wants to go to the sand but he has nothing to ride. he was asking me if you could rent anywhere and I told I didn't know of anywhere that you could. does anybody else? or if anyone is gonna be there this weekend with an extra machine they might be willing to rent? he is a very experienced rider. He just sold a banshee, he's been riding all his life. if anybody knows any way to help me out please let me know.

hey Keel I've got an extra DG grab bar that has a flag mount on it but I don't know if it will bolt up to your frame. If the ass-ends of our frames are the same you might have the same bolt holes I have. You are welcome to use it if it will bolt on. I will try to find out if the grab bar off an ATC will fit a TRX.

Well here is my report everybody. the dunes were great up until the point that I locked my motor down. at about 9 saturday morning my 2-stroke had already had enough and she said "screw you I'm done". I was very disappointed that it had to happen so early after I thought that she was running so well. other than that I guess everything went fine. I don't know if it is the motor that locked down or just my kick starter. I haven't pulled anything apart yet but I really hope its just the kick. she sputtered to a stop and the kick turned over once and then froze when I tried to restart it. I'll welcome any advice that anyone might have. it looks like it might be awhile before I get to go back. contrary to what I have heard on here Jimmy and Trisha seemed to actually be very nice people. I got the chance to meet and speak with them both and wound up not having to pay a dime to ride. I don't know what they could have done to other people but they really seem fine by me. the rules were not unreasonable and the treatment I recieved from the management was definately not what I had expected after reading some of the things I have seen on here. Hope to go back as soon as possible its just a matter of money and time now getting my ATC fixed. hopefully yall will see me plenty this summer if I don't have to have a new motor. any advice on how to tell if its locked down or not without pulling the whole thing apart? I wish better luck on everybody else with their toys. I guess thats what I get for wanting to ride something that hasn't been made since '86, huh? lol. all in all I was more pleased with the dunes and the new rules than I thought I was gonna be. I'll be back! Later All.

It would come to being shut down etc. If you have such problems with them buying it why didnt you buy it?. Hence you are a "concerned duner" you could of made all your changes to it put your rules to it. Since you didn't buy it you have to live by the rule sput in place by the people who did buy it. Cant blame him for buying it charging etc. One thing that will happen with all this the place will be cleaner and in better shape. No more people going out there trashing the parking lots with beer bottles. Dunes will be safer.....I cannot say on the part of them cussing yall out but if so. One thing that makes me mad at you personally.. Is you have a 100k+ rigs 50k+ rail. But you are pissin and moaning about 7 buxs.. Which would cost you only 14 bux per day to ride and go about your business ride on the actual sand without risking trouble. If it pisses you off that bad offer to buy the dunes from danny if your a really true best interest is in the dunes and preserving it for others for years to come. His land and since it is his land hell do what he wishs with it. If i like you like it or not. Id rather pay my 7 bux and ride on the sand anywhere out there without the hassle of somone trying to ticket you or what not. If your in it for the dunes and other show it. Try to work with danny between the lands and get somthing worked out. So we ALL can ride together and forget about this mess we got here.

I am very concerned about Kermit!!! I have to admit that I don't want my children on the dunes with a hot-head with a gun. How did Mr. Zumwalt know that these people were a threat? How did he recognize riders with helmets on? Even if the intent of these men were to purposely trespass, why was the answer a gun in the dunes? I can't trust that Mr. Zumwalt wouldn't mistake one of my teenage sons for an enemy. What if an arm band came lose and was lost? Is Mr. Zumwalt going to shoot at everyone without a KSI arm band? Especially if they are big guys? What if one of the KSI customers had been hurt in the dunes and the two men were riding up to notify their group or to get help? How did Mr. Zumwalt know what their intent was if no words were spoken?

the law states that trespassing is only illegal if there are signs posted close enough where you can see from one to the next which there is not, or if the property is fenced which it is not. i know this because i saw the winkler county ordinance. A group of us try to hit little sahara and glamis at least once a year just for the different ride.
little sahara is okay but a little small. its all about speed out there. you don't have to be a
great rider because the riding isn't very technical. you have to have skill at kermit. the dunes
change too much. even staying off ksi land, there is more sand to ride at kermit than at
little sahara

Hiya all went to kermit sunday and rode for the first time since the new Parking lot was built.I dont like it you cant see the dunes the lots to small and it overall sucks, you cant see anybody riding no place for kids to play around cause you cant see the dunes you have to ride over to the dunes across the scrub brush and the perimeter trail to get to the good sand.The parking lot needs to go back where it was. there was about maybe twenty people out there on a sunday this is crazy Ksi needs to sell out and let someone run this the right way.Get the parking back where it goes and work something out with the state on that corner parking area.That parking area was donated to the state for public use!!!! Im not sure the city even had the legal right to even bulldoze the parking area this spot was donated to the state for public use the city or county should not have bulldozed an area designated for public use jees this is turning into a nightmare for us dune lovers I think its time for KSI to go!!!!!!!

Heya avareage duner,who's side are you on here KSI'S ,or or us criminal's,and criminal trespass means with intention to do harm!! this would get thrown out of court in about two seconds. 'accidentaly crossing over onto someone's land' cannot be classified as criminal intent,If they had a fence up and you cut it down and crossed over on their land,that is criminal intent.These bogus charges wouldn't hold up in any court in Texas,No damage done to their property or perminent or temporary building's,fence's ETC,there for no criminal intent was done. I couldn't agree with you more. Isn't it amazing that one fool can do so much harm amongst a group of devoted duners who for the most part are really nice people. If you saw the news, you know that JDZ continues to lie about the truth in his little fantasy world, where he can do no wrong and he thinks everyone is out to kill him. Well guess what, no one else is foolish enough to fire at someones' back. I hope justice is done in this matter.

Boundaries are hard to know if not marked. Who in the world could justify shooting people in the back for going over an unmarked property line? The one who could cross that line will likely pay the price! The line must be imaginary or known only by the guy with a gun!
How sad that people can get shot at for having fun and riding the dunes. Riding on sand does not seem to justify aggravated assault with a deadly weapon! What is this world coming to?
