desertoasisrvpark.com its ALOT more laid back then sandhills, cheaper, and the folks that run it are nice. the new blm camping areas are pretty nice too.there right by the day parking lot.

Posted by: derbyking

the blm campground has power hookups for $5 extra a night,no water hook ups but there are spickets near by,and no sewer hook ups,but they have a dump station there. i heard they planned on putting full hook up spots in also. gravel parking areas, with concrete pads, there pretty nice and priced about the same w/power as desert oasis for full hook ups.

Our little group is headed to St. A's July 8-14.

It might be 65 and beautiful.

It might snow.

It might do both.

It has been a pretty mild winter so far however, but everytime we head down there when the kids are on spring break it goes bad on us! Right now in Hamilton MT it's like 50 outside and I'm ready to ride though.

A Busa, you a crazy boy Lenny! What chassis you gonna start with on that one?

Posted by: ShadyRascal

Is that a 4 wheeler then or a mini sand car? (forgive my ignorance) My buddy at Armadillo here in town is building Busa motor sand cars, can't wait to see how they run. I would love to do a bike motor quad, kinda been hoping the tranny grenades in our 01 Raptor so I have a decent excuse to start one (Val, it ain't worth fixin' stock!)

go to duneratt.com for all the info you need on St. A's

Morewood, go to duneguide.com
It's a guide to most the dune areas in the U.S.
The Saint A's area has a link to the BLM campground. All kinds of info!

Shady, what's the weather like at Saint Anthony's the first week of April?

Posted by: Crapo85

Usually depends on when snow leaves but officially they open on April 1st.

Posted by: Crapo85

Yes you will ( if they see you)lol !!! You can ride east of thunder too the resort but NOTwest of thunder!!!

Can anyone tell me the name of the newest camping area there at St Anthony's? And what it offers? And about where it is located? Maybe a phone number for reservations?

I have stayed at Sand Hills Resort, and I am familiar with the parking lot camping area right at the dunes....but I have not been there since the third camping area was created, so I would really like some info on it.

Thanks!

Thanks red400exrod and derbyking !!
Great info and great links.
I really appreciate your help.

Do you happen to know anything about the new BLM camping area, by the day use? It must be brand new since it doesn't show on some of these maps?

DuneMe,
I was actually asking for some friends who are going over the 4th of July. Then some other friends who are going the third week of July. I am going to Oregon Dunes in July, so can't make the trip to St Anthony this year. I really like Oregon better than St Anthony's, but I have been out there to Idaho three times. I like to hit Sand Mountain Utah on the same trip.
I'm heading for Glamis again for Pres Week, getting anxious!
