All depends on what day ur getting there and what time of day. The earlist i've gotten there is about 2 in the afternoon. only about 1/4 full in camping area if that much. I've sat up on top of the tall dune in the front were you can see the dirt road leading into the dunes and the highway from baker and parumph. at about 8 pm it's just a steady stream of headlites as far as you can see. Quite a sight to see. then when u get up the next morning, u can't believe how many folks are there. A lot of people r riding all night. U just have to be careful out in the dunes. Head on a swivel is what some folks say. Blm rangers are in full force. they'll stop u for any violation. if u don't get smart with them, they usually let u off with a warning. I've been there for 4 t days in a row, always have a good time.

Hey Bob,
Have you been to Glamis? I would recommend it over Dumont. Both will be crowded, but Dumont is so much smaller the sand is soon cut up totally. At least at Glamis you can go out a little farther and still find good riding.
You will not make some of the faces with your quad, either place, but you will have fun anyway.
We were at Dumont one time when the wind blew, smoothed the dunes great, but the dust storm in camp was awful.
I have been to Dumont on an "off" weekend and it was much more fun then.
Watch out for that creek if it should happen to rain upstream.

So Bob....how did Dumont go??
Glamis was hot, in the 80's every day....but good riding. Big crowd.

hi Morewood, yes i have been to glamis and i have dune riden many times , but we are going with some people to dumont and ive never been there, ur right my 700 might not make it up some of the dunes but im bringing my suzuki 400 quadsport with paddles also but i really dont like driving it, i was hoping my sportsman 700 would go up most of the hills with 2 psi in thoughs steal belted radial tires and in 4wd because it goes pretty good in sand, thanks
