Anyone have info on buying a custom Golf cart. Cant find much on the internet

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

The younger guys just dont understand do they. Wait ten years till you have a young child and you'll understand. Cant quite put a 1 year old on a quad or Sea Do. Cant put 4 people on either of those either.

Been th Glamis?

If so you'll understand.

Cant put much more money into my bike so on to something different.

We were all young once. For some of us it may have been longer ago than others but we all understand where youre coming from on this issue.

Dont take everything too serious.

Its all in good fun. Everyone here obviously has different tastes in bikes and what fun means.

Thats the great thing about it.

Have fun ride what you want and see ya the next time youre riding wheelies in the sand

The more toys the better, and if someone can afford it why not. I for one like being able to take the wife and kids on a little putt around the desert or the dunes. Nice little family time!!

Posted by: LTZ

SeaDoos, no thanks!! Been there done that. There's more crazy, drinkin', partying stupid people on the water then there are on the dirt and sand!! I'll stick with the dirt toys!!

Posted by: LTZ

I know of a few putt putt golf carts that would give a few quads a run for their money!!

Posted by: LTZ

I've seen a few with CBR 900 motors in them that can haul A$$!!

Posted by: LTZ

That's the fun of it!!!

ExactlyNo different then throwing money into a banshee or raptor. When we go to Pismo, we take 6 quads with us. They range from a Z400 to a Honda 70 (look at signature) When we just want to hang as a family a long the beach, we can ride down there together, kids can walk along the surf and I can run as buffer between them and the crazy maniacs that have no common courtesy.

Bottom line, to each his ownhr>

or follow the rules!! No racing, wheelieing or donuts on the beach! That's what the dunes are for. Not saying I agree with the rules but they are there for a reason.

doesnt someone on here have pictures of a golf cart hauling @ss?

I know this thread is a little old, but thought I'd toss my 2.3 cents in here.

The golf cart is a cool little thing. It's not meant to be a true duner out carving. It's a little transportation to get around.

Rescue is right on the spot. With the kids he can take them all down at one shot. Don't have to worry about sheaparding the ATVs down, then watching both them AND the kids in the water. I've also had the pleasure of giving rescue's shoulder a workout (sorry 'bout that. ) and he has a good reason. Some people get a little advanced in age, and due to injuries and what not, just can't keep hitting the hard stuff all the time. Golf cart is a way to sit back and relax.

Everyone has their own toys that they sink money into. Some of us it's quads. Most people just can't see sinking $15K (or more!) into a quad. I can't see how these people sink so much money into buying a truck, then lifting it up really high. It's unstable, a PITA to get in and out of, and makes towing not the best of things.

Plus, you can get the golf cart street legal registered so you can drive down the beach out of the OHV area and into town a little bit if you need something. Try taking a quad north of Pole 2 at Pismo....

rescue...forgot, I think there's someone up by LJ who does carts. Seem them sitting in front of the shop/house/whatever on 49. Might ask him. Nothing as fancy as that gorilla place...but you never know what some guys can do till you check it out.

I don't know where you are located but my buddy just completely custom built his cart. he will be taking it out to Little Sahara for sandfest this week. It's been completely redone. Undercarriage has been completely painted(not spray paint). . body has a custom paint job. . blue marble look with skulls in the paint. .tons of stainless steel cut into flames. .rool cage all silver vein powdercoat. . custom interior. . stereo. . and a huge lift. .with polished aluminum wheels on a big meaty atv tire. . looks great. . he's a neat freak. .he's talking of selling it soon. . probably after this big weekned at the dunes. . if u are at all interested i'm sure i could get you pics of it. . we're in Springfield, Missouri!!

the rhino is the overall choice.

Golf carts do have there place for a lot of people. At night going to the hill with a few people and just crusing around. They are great down in Mexico or anywhere on the beach. I have one with the 24hp honda that is in the garage that needs to be out of the garage. PM me I can fill you in on carts. My last one went 70 and climbed any dune out there. Intense carts did my first one. They do a lot of nice carts but they will run you some $$$

Posted by: EAB

Check out this one.

A link for parts like lift kits ect. if you want to do it yourself.

Isnt a stock Rino about $10K? I could build a sweet golf cart for that.

Posted by: rescuediver

In about 2 years I'll be looking for a golf cart to take with us on our outings. You can see some nice ones around Pismo. If I find some nice places around central ca. I'll post for you

Posted by: rescuediver

Here's a place in Carson, Ca. custom golf carts

Posted by: rescuediver

For a guy like me who enjoys being out on the dunes or at the dirtIt is a way I can enjoy it when my shoulder no longer wants to put up with holding onto handle bars for a long period of timeSo, with a golf cart, I can cruise around and still enjoy being mobileIt is also a nice way to bring the kids to the beachso they can play in the surf or collect shellsCan't ride double and they tend to walk a long way

So, you adjust your toys to continue enjoying the great outdoorsSeeing your only 14, wouldn't expect you to understand that.

I hear you LTZ. People can do anything they wantAs long as it doesn't endanger livesEspecially MY FAMILIESWe love walking the beachOne of the unique things about PIsmoBut, you do need to watch out when you do and if it's heavy with traffic, we'll let it die down

Yes you didBR>

I am one of those advanced individualsJust wish it wasn't in the physical ability sense

Thanks for the link, those are some sweet looking carts

Posted by: rescuediver

b&rw, you are right about not knowing until you check them out. There is also a golf cart shop outside of Oakdale, Ca. I believe they recently started modifying carts tooOn the down side, with the new housegetting a cart in the near future is on holdat least until Thanksgiving time

Posted by: rescuediver

TPR, thanks for offering up the picturesrescue

Posted by: DSengineer

Personally I don't really get the whole golf cart out in the dunes thing. Why not spend that money on something that can actually make it to the top of the hill?

Posted by: AZVFORCE

Here you go--www.gorillacarts.com

Great work, I have seen it first hand.

Posted by: UltimateAussie

yeah i agree with x man it would be easier to buy a rhino, but not half as cool. i mean a custom golf cart on the dunes that is just wicked

Posted by: venomaxx

You may just have to build your own.

Posted by: cowlamb

in my opinion the whole golfkart thing is sorta coolBR>I mean a golfkart with like a 6in or more lift how cool is thatBR>any 4x4 lifted golfkarts out there? that would be awesomeBR>I am not saying i would go out and buy one, but i still think they are cool.

Posted by: cr125predator

Ok, no offense to you golf cart guys, but i think they are stupid. Well i dont think there stupid i just dont get the point of them. Can somebody fill me in on what is so great about them.

Posted by: cr125predator

Quote

So, you adjust your toys to continue enjoying the great outdoors Seeing your only 14, wouldn't expect you to understand that.

Actually i very well do understand that.

But what i really dont understand is why would you sink so much money into them. i am not exactly sure how much they cost, but comparing to a quad, they have to be equal or more expensive.

Posted by: cr125predator

But thats exactly what it is, a PUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are better venues to spend money on, for example a sea doo. talk about spending family time, you can fit 3 people on it, it goes fast, and its a lot cheaper if you buy it used than a putter golf cart that YOU have to make better!

Posted by: cr125predator

True you cant put a one year old on a quad, but you can put a 3 year old one. So why would you waste a few thousand dollars on a golf cart when in 2 years, (when they are 3) they could ride a quad, i did. And as for a sea doo, my dad was driving my brother around on it when he was 1. so i dont know what you mean there. and as for not being able to fit four people on a quad, i dont get why you would bring 3 extra people along when they have nothing to ride except in a little putt golf cart? i for sure wouldnt want to go with somebody to where all i could do is putt around. i personally dont find that fun. Also i have been to glamis, and obviously i still dont understand. I am not here to Bash golf carts or start some argument about them so i am going to stop here and i am not even going to look in this thread even if one of you other people in here has some reply to mine, i really dont care, because i obviously am looked at as some stupid no-nothing, imature little kid that is living in an oblivion and wont realize anything about family until i am in at least my 20's. Posted by: cr125predator

what quads are those, a yamaha mini raptor, suzuki LT 80, predator 90, trx 90.

Posted by: cr125predator

ok, there are exceptions. But what i am trying to get across is that you have to put a lot of man hours and money to make it that fast, or that much fun

Posted by: cr125predator

well i guess you got me there. but i PERSONALLY would rather spend my money and time into something that can jump far, go fast, and not get bashed like i am doing to your golf cars now

Posted by: cr125predator

do detect a little hostility?

Posted by: cr125predator

a little sarcasim now huh?

Oh really, what are you a little lipy kiss ass 18 year old. And how much more knowledge do you have about money than I. You are probably still living at home with mommy and daddy who are paying the bills. I live in a capitalist society unlike your socialist canada so i think i have the concept of money down. Of course he can spend the money on what he chooses, not my business. But i wanted some personal clarification on the appeal of these golf carts. I see his point of view and hope he enjoys it, and i have no problem with him and what he does. I hope he enjoys his golf cart, but personally i would never buy one. I have no problem with him and his desire for a golf cart, and then you come out and accuse me of knowing nothing and offending people. NOW it makes sense why everybody hates you canadians.

I'm a sport quad rider and i respect you guys and your interests. Good for you that you've foud a way to still enjoy the sand after a lifetime of having your bodies abused. Also for him to tell you all that you are wasting your money when he really wouldn't have an honest concept of that sort of money unless he has one heck of a paper rout to afford that quad he's riding. You've earned your money, you can decide how you spend it. And if that includes a golf cart with a 8 inch lift for cruising the dunes with thats fine by me. Some people I tell ya.

Your right most grade 12's do live with their parents. I'm sure you have your own estate, since you clearly understand money i must have been mistaken. Sorry about that. But you were wrong about my government, I have a constitutional monarchy not a socialist government, thats sweden, we're easy to mix up. Europe...North America, who knew? O, and evreryone doesn't hate Canada, that's why we along with italy, are the only 2 countries left in the world that haven't been hit by terrorists. It seems to me we've had a big misunderstanding.

Wouldnt it be easier just to buy a Yamaha Rhino and go from there.

Posted by: TPR

I have 3k sunk into mine including the price of the 2000 EZ-Go cart. Installed a high torque motor, beefed up speed control, lift tires paint the whole enchilada, I'll post pics later today. They are a kick to run around on after a day of hard riding.

Golf cart --- you bet!!! I built mine, it has a 433 CC Yamaha snowmobile engine, a Kawasaki Bayou front frame clip, will fly 60 + MPH and roost mud as good as an ATV, and still carry 2 people and an Big Damn ice chest in comfort at less than $2000.00.

Posted by: rooster3209

hey i cant believe you guys are tottaly oblivious to the golf kart seen. up here in michigan there run rampent in the dune but they are really popular on farms because you can but an old yamaha kart for like 1000 dollars then throw another 1000 and you can lift it 4-8 inches and put quad tires on them ill try to get some pics up to show you guyswhat they look like.

http://www.strechplastics.com/gallery_of_golf_carts.htm try this web site and see if its any thing like you want i also posted some pics

polaris just came out with a mean off road cart with a 4-stroke 500 engine it comes lifted with huge tires stock. i saw it in the july issue of dirt wheels.

WHATS WRONG WITH CANADA

Posted by: sandchick

Okay, just thought that I would share my thoughts on the whole golf cart thing, since everyone else got too. I do not see anything wrong with it. We go down to Little Sahara all the time and I see people riding around in golf carts pretty much everytime that I am there. I don' think that I have actually seen one on the dunes though, but they would come in quite handy for riding around in through the campsites. I have never had the chance to ride on any beaches but I can imagine that they come in quite handy there too.
