You'll do fine. Went riding with a friend and his wife a couple weeks ago to Little Sahara, Ut. Neither one had much experience...both bikes only had 9 miles on them. Both did great. Just don't expect them to do what some of these sport bikes do. It's pretty bad to crash a sport bike that weighs 350 lbs. It's really bad to crash one that weighs 600-700 and more. Go and have some fun now!

One of the guys in the group has a Kodiac 400. His wife loves running around Pismo Dunes one itThey are running mud tires on it and there is no hill, she can't climb in 4x4he's a mad woman out there on itnd with your rides being 700sook out

I havent personally done it but on my trips to silver lake I always see 4X4s running around all over the dunes. I dont see them jumping the dunes as much as the sport guys do but I have seen the occasional 4X4 get some mad air ( followed by the ambulance ride to the hospital) but I have seen it.

There is plenty of trails and bowls and hills your 700 will do excellent out there and you will have a blast. Just lower your tire pressure and get the flag I believe DAR sells them for 13 for white and 15 for colored. Its been awhile since I had to buy one.

No, you do not need paddles. You'll do just fine at the dunes. Just set your tires around 3psi and buy a flag at the dunes ($20.00 I think).

I don't know what the sand is like in Mich. but out in Oregon we have taken a 500sp many times and it does just fine, of course my eiger always beat the polaris when we would race but you still will have fun. A fun thing you can do with a 4x4 at the dunes is race in reverse up hill, you won't see a sport quad do that. And I never had a problem running 2.5 lbs in my tires wile in the sand.

I have never rode at the sand dunes and would like to add it to my experiences. I have an 04' sportsman 700 EFI and love it, what do I need to ride the dunes? can I stay stock with my wheels and tires or is it like a manditory thing in the atv world to put paddles on. Do I need an orange flag on the back of the quad? any help would be great thanks.
