is the nankang carcas what is used for ultralights?

1bad is right 8 paddles would work cool! I have 9's and sometimes they are a bit much when the sand is wet.

they make the ultra light and a bead to bead. The ultralight is obviously lighter.
Id go with an 8 paddle with a 71-73 RO. Find the old style if you can as they are 3-4lbs lighter per set.

its a drag tire. You want as much forward drive as possible.
Same goes with any tire, you wouldnt take a slick and put it on the road, one water puddle and your in a tree.

I know i can and i have searched for information on this subject but i would like the most current information possible as i am looking to buy ultra lights soon.I have a 690 raptor that according to my builder should be putting out about 60 HP and i have no reason to doubt him judging by the performance that i am getting. My question is if i am running 10 paddle (regular?) haulers now which seem to work well what would be a good choice in the ultra light? My raptor is used probably 90% of the time for uphill sand dragging at anywhere from 300 feet to about 600 feet in length.Another question i have is should i use the .125 wheels with the ultra light as it is the lightest? And my last question is with the HP that i have how much of a gain should i expect to see with ultra lights in a 300 foot race with all else being equal? Thanks.

Thanks for the responses. Are there a few different kinds of ultra lights as far as weight or a paricular cut as with some other tires. As you can probably tell the ultra light tire is very new to me so some of my questions may seem obvious to those of you in the know but for me any specifics will be helpful.

I was thinking of getting some tires like that but dont they handle like crap though the dunes, like for turning. I herd they pitch you into a roll when you turn hard. Is this true?

8 paddle ultra lites on 125 rims, gear down to pull the high gears if you can, pick up about 3 to 4 bikes ...

I like the 12/42 gearing with that, it carries all the gears strong till 4th where i stay pinned wide open, great gearing..especially with 22 inch tires...
ULtra lites now are made with a heavier carcus, maybe a 1LB heavier or more but not a big diffrence, to the drag racer every litte bit counts...
