1Toby1, I will get there friday night. We will be on the west side of small canal west of main camp area. about 3 miles down almost to the little cross over bridge. Could not find the predator pack. Ready for the next trip. The drags were real interesting, there was so many people there, to watch that the drags. That the drags started about 100 yards before the starting burm and seemed like a mile long. So now we were jumping the burm and racing forever. It was different but fun.

Ok all you Imperial duners, is it just me, or does it seem like dune season is taking FOREVER to get here I am about to go out of my mind with anticipation of the first trip of the year. I have made quite a few trips to the cinders to try to quench my thirst for the dunes but it just isn't the same. How are all of you keeping your free time occupied until that magical opening weekend, and what are all of your plans once it comes??

We usually camp at gordons about 100-150 yards out from where the power poles meet the canal. This seems for some reason to be a great spot for low traffic and dust plus it is easy for people to find.

Well my best friend just went out and bought an 04 predator and I have two more friends going in this week to get preds. Looks like this is going to be a killer trip. Now we all just have to pray that the weather isn't too hot.

3 weeks from today!!!! The funny thing is that I am going to St. Thomas 3 weeks after the dunes to get married and all I can think about is Halloween (oh god, don't tell my fiance). BR>

Well I got some more stuff to make our camp stand out. I just went out and bought 75 feet of red rope light and 75 feet of white rope light for my popup tents. I also went to wallmart and bought a 10 foot tall inflatable lit archway with a big skull and crossbones across the top to mark the entrance to our camp. Leaving two weeks from yesterday. we dont camp where its dusty and every else camps by the entrance to the sand highway right there. usually a little further in towards olds. gecko is the best about dust, but worst about noise and the man. i hate the washes because of the dust. the best camping experience i think is gordons for camp appeal even though it can get dusty, but the riding in glamis is better.
IMO there is no good place to camp at glamis. pick what you want to put up with.

he runs a aluminum cooler rack, so im sure a steel one will work fine. plus you can chrome is and dont have to polish it all the time.

I think just about every other day I tell my boyfriend "I can't wait for Halloween!!!" The Cinders don't quite do it for me, either....as fun as they are. Just isn't the same........

I'll do Olds sand highway on an off weekend....but it's too dusty, and busy for me during a holiday. I'll usually stick to the washes on a holiday weekend....the further back the better. It means a little longer ride to the hill, but who cares as long as your in sand!!!

Yup...wash 14 is great. I think if your looking for the best spot to camp, say with kids and to be dust free, the west side of Buttercup is the best...IMO. I agree, Glamis is the best for riding. I'd like to try Dumont, and maybe Dunefest in Oregon, but with Glamis, etc alittle over 4 hours away, I just don't see the point....LOL.

I've been waiting for Halloween since last May (our last trip to ISDRA). I just got the graphics kit, seat cover, and slip on installed on my bike, so it should be a fun weekend. I am waiting for a raise before I do anymore upgrades...this gets to be an expensive hobby. Here's a pic of my bike:

Leaving Palm Springs/Indio the 29th in the late evening (around 7 pm) and returning about the same time on the 31st, or maybe on the 1st of November if I can get an extra day off. We usually camp off of Gecko Road out in the dunes, I have a grey F-150 SuperCrew 4x4...look for me!

Actually I have done that, when I was 10 years old, and in the process the guy we were doing this to came out so I ran and hid under his truck on the side of his house in the dark. He found me picked me up by my neck realized I was just a kid and dropped me...said a few choice words but by that time I was half way down the block on my bike with my friend.
So yeah...I am leaving for dumont Friday at 1am, I should get there around 4-5am maybe gte a little sleep and I will be riding. My GSXR lt500 won't be done until thanksgiving or possibly new years so I am bummed about that. I do have my 1987 banshee that looks stock except for the toomey pipes, but with the porting, polishing and milling the head it spits out about 70hp to the ground. Unfortunatly my tires have no traction what so ever so unless the sand is still heavy from the rain I won't have any traction for my launch. I need new tires and to get rid of those j-arms...argh

Just got home from Dumont, I took about 200 pictures while I was there I can give you a url to view them if anyone wants to see them, I was there from 6am friday until about 10am today
