yes the limit is 93db but florence is the only place that I've seen it enforced. If you are that worried about it I would suggest riding at either winchester or coos bay.

It's fine, they are only after the excessivly loud people. They would NEVER pull over a stock machine and do a sound test, they arn't stupid. I wouldn't worry about it at all, of all the years I've been riding I got one ticket for being to loud and that was back in 1999. Since then I've had a much louder bike and never even gotten close to gettin a ticket. They also provide an option that if you are to loud and you fix it and show them it takes the $75 fine and lowers it to a $15, which is a great deal!

I'm planning on going to Florence this summer, and I have a Yamaha Warrior, and a Honda TRX450R, both bone stock. It seems like I have read somewhere that my stock TRX puts out about 96db. I also read that the oregon dunes limits the exhaust to 93db. That seems rediculous, considering that my 450R is VERY quiet.

So... I guess I'm just wondering how strict they are about that... I can't believe that they would give me a ticket when I it's obviously all stock...but 93db seems pretty strict... are they assuming that EVERYONE that visits the dunes will go out and buy a hush kit just so they can ride there?

How'd it do out there? What kind of sand tires do you have?

We're heading over there the weekend of July 17th. Anyone else going that weekend? It would be cool to hook up and meet some new faces!

We're staying at the Driftwood campground. It's really nice to be able to just ride to the dunes, without having to drive to an unload spot.

We'll be there for several days, so maybe we'll take you at your word, and make a day trip down to Winchester.

Tree shots/sand trails are one of my favorite things at the dunes. Unfortunately, I don't think St. Anthony's has any... Does anyone know? I'm headinng there in a couple weeks. If not, I guess I'll just have to settle for my Florence trip.

I just came back from Florence in April. My stock 450R was on of the quietest quads out there, so you have nothing to worry about. There are some real loud (usually Raptors, loud and low) out there and I have never seen anyone get bothered.

The 450R did great down there. I have Kenda Geckos on it now but I want to get a pair of Haulers (22x10x10 -8 paddles) before I head down next time. The Geckos are great for ripping and sliding but for racing up Comp and Show Off hill I would lose the hole shot because it didn't hook up good enough. Where are you staying down there? There is a lot of variety in the Florence dunes, I would, however, highly recommend a day trip to Winchester. It is only 25 miles south and well worth a one day excursion for the HUGE dunes.

Trust me, you won't regret a day trip to Winchester! Go to the last staging area, you will be closest to the BIG dunes.

You also need to hit the tree shoot, know as Banshee Hill at Winchester. Straight up the hill through the trees!

Not saying it's a big challenge, but it's a blast to rip up the chute between the trees.

The limit is 93, but they will give you up to 95.
You will be o.k. My raptor pushes 100 and havent been pulled
over once! Have fun. When are you going?
Maybe we can hook up?!
