I'll try to be there, but no guarantees. I'm about 1 bike length behind that black rappy but I'll eventually catch up I wouldn't doubt that the ultralites he runs pulls him that one extra bike length ahead of me. At that time I was running some pretty wore out 20x10x10 9 paddle haulers. I've been wantin to see some of those Sparks bikes run, I bet they'll beat me but I don't mind tryin Hope to see ya there!!

If you go out into the open dunes at south and stay to the left following the out of bounds lines you'll eventually see it. There is usually lots of people sittin on top and the bottom of the hill is located next to a large island of trees (kinda near the dune rental entrance) with a large mound of sand from where people take off racing.
Posted by: RoostItUp
Comp hill is steaper and maybe a little longer with a really short takeoff. South Jetty (The Face) has some bad whoops and a long takeoff before the hill.
Posted by: RoostItUp
I ran into some bad luck and think I spun my crank bearings. I might have it fixed by that weekend, if so I'll prolly be down at Winchester too.
Posted by: rc3
I wish that I could go, but one of our quads was stolen from Coos Bay over memorial day weekend, so that could put us back a little bit!
Posted by: rc3
HEY SANDMAN 430 - I just returned from Horsfall, and I was at the KOA bsing with the sparks guys. If you go down there tomorrow stop by there camp in the KOA on hauser road. They will be there. They hope to see that 650 down there!
Posted by: rc3
I would just like to say thanks to the sparks guys at Coos Bay, they were very friendly, hope you guys had a great weekend!
Posted by: rc3
10-4 that is why they said to stop by there camp is that it was suppost to rain most of the day so they would probally hang out there.
Posted by: rc3
Here we go again, just what is it that you ride that beats up on them and how come you did not do it at four stroke wars, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA JKJK
Posted by: rc3
taftraptor, how are you doing? I am the one that stopped by and visited. Thanks for having us in. You guys were great I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip! Have a great week!
Posted by: rc3
taftraptor- we have not got out quad back yet we are waiting a little longer then we are probally going to have to go finance one , as we need to be out riding in this nice weather. Where can I get a copy of the 4 stroke wars
Posted by: rc3
I will say that you might be able to compete with them, but like everyone says the guys from cali that actually had there stuff built by sparks, for one are really friendly people. And there bikes do run really good, I hope sometime you get the chance to meet up ride with them and maybe compare quads. You would have a blast.
have fun
Posted by: rc3
you think I should look into a lawyer, anyways we will definately meet up with you guys the next time you come up, just let us know. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay. Well that is pretty crappy the law enforcement will not do much even with all the info they got.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
should be a few runners there after memorial day it gets exciting there. maybe i'll try for a day run
Posted by: SANDMAN430
comp is the place to show what you have even if it is shorter
Posted by: SANDMAN430
when are you guys going to be there, i have to make a 4 hour drive and would like to know the best time to meet up with you guys.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
post where your at, i can go to coos bay, boxcar not to bad to race on
Posted by: SANDMAN430
probably the 5th for me and in the afternoon.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
that would be cool spin i have seen you in over a year.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
i'm sure from what i've seen you guys know how to hang with the ds's
Posted by: SANDMAN430
sorry to hear that there was a lot of people there this weekend then to hear that is sad.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
i think parker has the itch but business may be in the way. rob is still healing from surgery and gary is always busy. i'll call on thursday and make plans with you, for metting up.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
i called and checked with my friend there said it was raining hard and it's to far to ride in the rain.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
wish the weather had been better, with gas prices i don't want to sit around camp much.
Posted by: SANDMAN430
well i don't know a lot about sparks stuff, nothing offered for the ds(that i'm aware of) but this i do know, just because a machine has a pipe that says sparks doesn't mean it is a sparks machine. i have even raced a raptor that said he had a sparks 690, only to find out that it was what they called a clone. when you run into a real one you will know what you have found. oh and there are a lot of those pipes out there.

250r4life-Where at florence will you be drag racing, comp hill or south jetty?I dont know who will be there there on the 5th of june but there are some very fast local raptors and yfzs so you will have some competition for sure. There is a black raptor that runs out at comp hill that will give you a good run regardless of what four stroke you are on.I will probably be there but only as a spectator as far as the drag racing is concerned but i am having my raptor built up to where it should hang with most four strokes that i will run into but that will be a week or two after the 5th.You may also find a ds or two hanging around that will surprise you.
Posted by: duneittilludie
bigslim78-I sent you a pm with all the specifics on the build i am having done and it should be a real runner this time.
Posted by: FarmStud
I'd like to go, but I don't think there's any way my bike will be done by then.
Posted by: taftraptor
Where is comp hill? We were at south jetty, the staging area year before last.
Posted by: taftraptor
Just looked at your pictures, nice bikes. Looking forward to meeting you. Don't know if we can hang with those big D.S.'s, we'll give it a good try though. Duneslider and I will probably slide in on friday, at the KOA, Northbend. If you get in early we are towards the back by the cabin, in a weekend warrior, blue dodge pickup. Think that black raptor will be there also?

Sparkskiller,
So you are coming down to the Coos Bay area the 12th Of July, and you have raced Sparks guys before. You don't mention what you are riding, but you have beat them before? You are probably from Washington. The only person from Washinton, and has a hard on for Sparks, is Airraptor. Are you still in denile from the butt whipping you received at Glamis, oh yea I was there and saw it. Have no fear Big Tony and his 727 Sparks bike will be there for the Dune fest. His bike got second at fswlll this year, 250r4life will be with him. By the way all the bikes that were at horsefalls last week were dune bikes not drag bikes.

Hey rc3,
Did you catch those dispicable theives yet? They should be hung up and shot. Enjoyed you and your wifes company at our camp. I have to hand it to the people of the Coos Bay area, they were very nice and friendly towards us. I have enjoyed all my stays in the state of Oregon, and I thank them very much for their hospitality. I do hope you get back your bike, it is so hard for a working man to replace a theft such as this. Kudos to the Polaris, and Yamaha guys, both were helpful as can be.
And Sparkskiller, you still haven't told us what you are riding. You had better watch what you say about 14mins, as Craycraft will get jealous. You know that 14mins. is Bobby's bit%h

were going to have 3-4 decent running Sparks YFZ450's, Two very fast Sparks 690's & hopefully a Sparks 727 there on June 5th. I hope some of the fast 4 strokes will show up to play with us at the hill. Were coming all the way from Southern California. I hope we can have some fun & meet some people. Well how about it?????
Posted by: 250R4LIFE
Yeah I was thinking South Jetty, Because that's all I know. But I'll go whevever the majority of the people will be. Which hill is better for drag racing? Which hill is longer? Comp hill or South Jetty?
Posted by: 250R4LIFE
I'll be with Taftraptor & some others. I'll get with them & try to give you a time. Or maybe Taftraptor can give us an exact time. Were going to camp at the Coos Bay KOA, But were going to try to make it over to Florence one day. We figured that would be where the best drag racing would be. I hope were right. We plan to mostly do some trail riding at Coos Bay & Winchester Bay while were that week.
Posted by: 250R4LIFE
Maybe well just meet at boxcar. It would probably be easier for us since we don't have to load the bikes up. We will be there all day anyways for sure. That sounds good to me! How about it Taftraptor? It would save a hour drive for us.
Posted by: 250R4LIFE
There you are Duneslider22!! Yeah we will be at Coos Bay all day, So it won't be hard to catch up with us. I think Sandman430 is in. I hope. It would be cool to meet some people from the North. Well have some fun!!

I think we'll make it to. My Ds is stock but a friend will be bringing a really nice drag banshee..
Posted by: bigslim78
wish i could make it this weekend, but i have work.
duneittilludie, what are you getting done to the raptor? that thing is already too fast for me
Posted by: Kintama
South Jetty is really whooped up this year, I would also take it out to comp. You guys could always race up that monster just south of comp.
Have fun guys, I am going to be in Coo's Bay that weekend. Rented a house with private dune access
Posted by: sparkskiller
when are you sparks boys coming back to the dunes. i will be down at horsfall july 12th-16th if you wanna play.
Posted by: sparkskiller
well if you have beat some in the drags and have gotten beat by a few then i guess you can use that name lol
i am always in the hunt for the fast but they are slowly getting slower than the rest.
Posted by: sparkskiller
i thought airaptor had a hard on for 14mins
Posted by: sparkskiller
ok i have a raptor. its a 105mm piston aluminum sleve, head work done by slipstream in hildenborough, 40mm down draft carbs round slides, solid balancer gears, and some other work. it cost me losts of work to get done and ship there but i have heard they have the most experiance on this engine and make the most power.
its a blue raptor with blue plastic.
i have raced allot of so called sparks built bikes and they were not that fast at all. some of the sparks bikes were even getting beat by 400ex's and mild 450's so if everyone is so hyped about sparks stuff i dont see why.
Posted by: duneslider22
I don't know about Taftraptor but boxcar... sounds good to me.
I am looking foward to dragging with some of the bike from up North.
I also would like all of us to go on a hard ride and mix it up a little.
So we are talking about Boxcar on Saturday June 5th and or the 6th.
How about it........

How is it going rc3, it was nice to meet you and your wife, you and her seem to make a good couple. I wished you could of had more time to visit and go for a ride, we will foresure have to meet up the next time where there. Oregon has some of the best riding I have ever seen. I hope by now you have heard something about your bike. Have you looked into a lawyer? With you having a witness and the info, you stand a good chance of putting some heat on this guy. The law knows where he lives, I talked to one of the rangers. It seems like they are not willing to take the extra step to get this LOW LIFE. Seriously you have a good case. Get in touch with your witness, that is your ace in the hole.
Good luck and keep us updated...

the real sparks bikesi believe are from california, it will be a diffrent story once you get to our dunes.Trust me.

Hey Sandman, I've been gone for awhile and just saw this string regarding this weekend with the Sparks guys. I think it's awesome that our California bretheren are coming up to check out the Oregon Dunes. Where are you gonna park and on what days? I was thinking of heading down to Florence to do some testing of the rocket on the long Florence straightaway, but I could yank the rocket motor off for some general all-purpose hill-dragging and tree shooting. Too bad they opted to stay at the KOA. Remember spring break? I destroyed two sets of extreme haulers on those asphalt rides to the staging area. Let me know what's up and I'll try to get set up to see ya out there. (Give me a call) Any of the other DS guys coming?
Posted by: bready04
South Jetty is longer hill, But the rangers hang out around there sometimes so i wouldnt want to be running back and forth on a loud pipe, comp hill is not really that big in my opinion
