it's kind of fun to ride a 4 stoke thumper and to run with or beat a strong runner (banshee) doesn't mean a thing, it's just how you look at the challenge. run run a dune ready ds and can drag with several fast machines, it's just for fun, no big deal it's getting kind of fun the 2 stroke guys come over and want to talk about the performance, it fun to meet people that way. hey mario i have my 90 pound pilot but he doesn't want to ride the bus what gives, think if i change the plastic to black or red he would change his mindhey did you find some light shocks.

ct you must not have one of these 68 to 70 hp raptors because you dont mention what carbs you are running and if you have stock carbs with a stage 1 cam and they are getting 70hp everyone esle should close their doors and let CT build'em all

if you have an issue use a tissue. guess what most shops bore for the same price and the piston is the same price, you could of had a 690 and i dont care if they used a cam it still wouldn't make 10 more ponies.
tell you what if you ever see me at the beach come by and i'll help you out on dailing in your bike to get all you can get out of it. ebay is a good place to find good deals for less. i have to admit i was on a fixed income and still got around 60 ponies out of a 690.

Madracing- Can you bring them raptors to Dumont this weekend???. It should be very smooth and the right hand side of the hill is long enough to see all that HP shine. My DS is ready for some serious drags. Besides, Franks bike should show good torque on a decent hill also. Are you the one fixing the stroker?
I want to race you. Win or lose I need some good competition.

I knew the #s were more than 50 hp. When franks bike was running alky or gas it showed decent #s on this very concervative dyno down here. But In the real world his bike would not run right, though I did not look @ his power curve closely. I figured it was the cam timing or something major was off, but im no mech so I really dont know. He said you may have fixed it. I will wait till you guys come down here, I wish I could make it to Pismo, but there is really not that much room to open up the bike without skidding to a stop into the fence + the 450 miles one way from here. We will have a feild day at Dumont. Even if it is in a few weeks we can still do some night drags and early morning and evening drags. Heck maybe another cold front will come in.
BTW- my bike is not THAT fast, I just happen to race people that are a little slower.lol

MAAAN!!!!!! you guys have me beat already!!!! I can only lay down a little above 65 hp and 55+ ft lb torque. (on a car dyno) A stock ds lays down 32 hp on this PARTICULAR dyno. Piped and jetted yfz puts down 34 hp on this dyno. 70 is a great #. The dyno I use is not very niceBR>
I still want to race though. I even interviewed a 115lb pilot the other day. Hope he can hold on @ the hill. But, I still pilot my own ride @ 220 lbs.
I guess we will see how they run soon enough @ Dumont. Ive made a few changes since ive ran anyone. I still run gas though. So it will be motor to motor. hopefully near the same weight riders. But its still all in good fun.

Sorry bud, but Im not trying to keep up w/ the "big dogg banshees" I like running other 4 strokes. I already had a alum frame banshee that put out near 100hp and thought I was cool for a minute too. Wasnt THAT fun to "ME". I was doing 68+ up comp hill when I realized anyone can get a drag banshee to run fast as long as you have the money, patients, and a good mech. Some of you guys think just cause a "drag banshee" can do 80+ up a hill your the man, well Im the type of guy who gets a laugh out of beating a 420 alky banshee on my DS 4-joke. Compare apples to apples.
We are not trying to run w/ the fastest of drag banshees IE 450-650+cc...
Dont let your B@lls swell up just cause you have a drag banshee. I am not bothered if a 90hp drag banshee can beat me up the hill, Im in reality.

You would probably need alky in that cr500 if it is not punched out to even run w/ a strong banshee or a strong ds. Last weekend I outran a cr560 dirtbike, I have that on tape also if you dont believe me.

Sam, I cant log on @ planet. The computor that I logged on w/ crashed and it wont let me get new password on other computors I think cause its on the same server or cable modem line. NO YFZ HAS never came close, hes smoking crack, tell him That I will Pay for his gas if he will come to Dumont. Cardiac- Tony is down here and we are trying to figure out where to go(maybe coral pink), Pismo unfortunately is out of the question. Can ya make it to Dumont this weekend? Sam, what color of yfz and what banshee? Its probably some kid running off @ the grill hyping it up. I have not had any probs w/ ANY bikes @ Dumont. faster Dirtbikes let alone a yfz. I mopped a white yfz on alky nitro a few weeks ago. These guys had a radar gun and didnt want to line up on my side.

I just went to the CT website for a little looksee. They seem to do good w/ 2 strokes ( I think) But I was a little distracted by the raptor pipe comparison. From a stock raptor to a raptor w/ a CT pipe kit & K&N It gained a whopping 15.6 hp peak, and all across the board increase. That is really amazing.

If I had the money you wasted I'd have a 600hp long traver suspensions'unlimited sand car. sorry but you conterdicted yourself. beating a banshee with a ds just means you have deep pockets too so dont think your special + Id have to see it to belive it. I dont own a banshee. I ride red. If you were to look at my bike it's not a drag bike its a very fast dune bike. I dont have a mechanic I do my own work.

Good burn. I dont mind losing either. I dont evean have $7000 into my bike yet (cr500quad) I wont be running my bike till october, re-porting and going with a bigger carb and n.o.s. should be pushing 100-110hp. Be glad to race a fast 4-stroke. Every time I race a 4-stroke at glamis they never line up to me twice, evean when I give them a half hill head start. I'm going to the river this weekend in my 750hp jet boat. 110 mph in 9 second's. My faverote 4- stroke, big block chevy. I spend most of summer at my river house at the water wheel.

ctracing why then in the pipe test back in dirt wheels did the ct pipe make the most power and had the best curve when the graydon pipe which is/was the same back then back way less and had a not so smooth curve. the graydon and ct pipe are made by the same mfg.
oh wait i know the answer the pipe test was done at ct racing and all dyno's can be set up to get high numbers or low ones. straps to tight, to low air pressure and so on. to get 50 rear wheel horsepower will take pipe, filter, cam and piston.

wow i didnt think my input would create such a conflict. I dont know what Dyno CT uses. I don't have a big bore.... everything i did to my raptor was on a budget sorry guys if i dont have money falling out of my A$$ to drop into my motor. I bored it not by choice on making speed, i bored it over the smallest amount possible, cuz i had over 400 hours on my stock piston and rings and they were fryed and i had a small scratch in the cylinder wall. I bought the hot cam cuz once again i dont have enought money to buy titanium rockers arms and new valves. Also 77rwh is different from what i was saying 68hp. Also i dont know if its rwh or not? All i am saying is i dont know whhy you guys are boring over 700 if its not a drag only bike. Personally i would never go to a 770 or a 727. I would rather have a 680 or Sparks 690 kit. But i dont have that kind of cash flow. My raptor pulls hard and thats what i like, yeah youve got your big bore and your faster and youll win, but ill still race. Im happy with my motor, until the 666 gets toasted im gonna run it, even on my measley 11:1 comp. Then ill opt for the 680 or 690. Until then il save up for A-Arms, shocks and a swingarm.

yah debeechman i had right around 400 hours the best i could figure without any mech porblem, it still ran good but i could tell it was losing compression, i could have re-ringed and ran it again but that small scratch needing a little honing
