Great weekend, HOT! never been to pismo when it was that warm, still beats the heat of Glamis. Some fast bikes out there, Seems there was a group of sparks quads, and another group of ESR quads. Some fast 450s. They had a 450 in a drag frame, although I never saw it run.

slowbanshee00 is correct, it is a CRF motor in a drag frame. I didn't see it run, it spent most of the day in the back of the truck.
The few stock 450s where easy for me to to beat. But the modified ones, I was not even close! I am currious how much work they have done, if much at all! For all I know they could be all out race motors or just pipes and jetted.

I saw one 400ex that was smoking, it was up there with the fast 450s. There were not that many fast banshees, your usual piped ones, but nothing that was worth mentioning. From what I saw, the 450s were king that weekend, in the drags that is!
Do you know what the FAST 450 are running? cams? high comp? big bore?

i went down and raced on the beach front for a couple hours or so. Its about the only flat place left out there anymore.

well if you can get away with it the beach front is the best place to drag race. The tide keeps the surface incredibly flat and its nice heavy sand. If you go out in the flats as long as its a big holiday where they drag the flats smooth its a good run to get into 5th on a banshee, 5th on a honda as well. Its a good 250 yards long bottom to top minus the shutdown

Heading out Friday and Saturday. Park RIGHT next to Pole 4, Red Ranger XLT and a lifted white Chevy. Otherwise, look for two guys doing high chair wheelies down the beach

Well how about being hassled for doing donuts in front of my camp site. The ranger picked up speed like there was a terrorist attack and stop right on me. jumped out and pointed out that even though I wasn't speeding or wheeling that my actions were endangering others. The fuzz is always watching.
P.S. no ticket just a sceen and a stern warning.

The CRF450 was already fast in 400ex frame now lighter and streched out I think it will run good. I know he is still working on the suspension. I was just curious what other people saw this past Sat. I talked to the owner SAT night and he said he is pretty happy with it. He sounded like he thought it had more to go. I have never seen it run in the drag frame.
So do you guys think a pismo drag banshee can take it?

I don't know who he was with but there is a yellow 400ex that an older guy rides and is pretty fast it's a 416 on meth. Maybe a few TRX450R's that are pretty fast too. I want to know how it did against the 2-strokes. Most 4 strokes can not run with him.

da beech is it safe for a top end bike to race at pismo or is it just to short of a cutoff at the end, i have no reason to go there if it aint to race, but i may just go for the hell of it..to putt and kill myself when i pinned in 4th and the fence is a coming..

ill be there, heading out tonight (thurs) and staying till sunday. i have a black raptor le, and have an 18 ft sandpiper (sand pimper) and drive a durango. will have a couple of cr250's in camp too, tho they cant ride very well BR>
settting up camp at the 5 marker, as close to it as possible, probaly see me passed out right under it.
oh yeah, coo site you have, gunna bring any of them dune or river chicks out there!?!?!?!

How was everyones trip?
I had a ton-of-fun till I stripped my left rear hub at the farthest possible dunes from camp. Then limping back with only 1 wheel spinning (what a f**kin pain!) proceeded to round off every tooth on the axle!! DAAAAMN!!!! after getting back to camp and downing a 6-er of corona, tried to retighten the hub nut and cover it with epoxy. when the epoxy set, i got about a 2 minute ride before it all let go again, oh well. i am dropping off the rappy at the dealer and hoping the the Y.E.S. warrantee will cover it, because, after all, it wasnt my fault BR>i missed everyones reply to this thread so i didnt know where everyone was camped, maybe next time.

i was unfortunate to stage against those 450's, and after the first 50 ft i realized they were not of this planet. i couldnt believe how freaking fast they were!!!
Were you also talking about that silver drag bike with the 4 stroke in it on saturday? it was veeery fast, as was his buddy with that yello 430 drag banshee with the big twin pipes.
i really wish they would bulldose the start line and move it to the back fence line, i hate the short track, almost went thru the far fence a couple times.

ok, now i get it!! i didnt know he had a crf motor in it, never had the chance to rap with him. the suspension did look soft thru the whoops, if thats what he is trying to dial in.
did the stock length EX riders also have crf motors stuffed in them too? i was curious how they were so fast.

just be careful of the man in the white humvee. i was warned twice for going over 15 mph on the shore line, and a different time asked to leave the entire pismo area for doing a 1st gear wheelie and hitting at least a whopping 10 mph, but since the all four wheels werent on the ground i was endangering the lives of thousands of people and animals. i asked him wouldnt that make me the same as a motorcycle???
