If you plan on riding in the sand much, sand tires are a great investment. Go ride the first time. I will beat money that you will be looking for a set of sand tires for the next trip. Expecially after you have to undig your quad a couple of times. As for psi on stock tires drop the pressure some it should help give you a wider foot print. Maybe to around 5-7 psi.

no you will be ok with stock tires. if you are on a budget then just go ahead with stock tires. the sand tires just help you move easier and faster. my sand sharks came with my old honda so that was nice!! what dunes are you going to?

when you have paddles on i was told and i have my psi down to 3 psi on the paddles. being that i am from washington and been riding for over a year i have been told that beverely and moses lake are not great dunes. i guess moses you dont need paddles an dbeverely you could use them and would be helpful but that beverely is a very small place. if you want to hit some dunes you need to drive 6 hours to florence and hit those dunes......awesome place with huge hills. going down next weekend!

dingo you dont need paddles but you will WANT paddles for the big dunes. i would never ride florence without paddles. i love to race on comp hill and climb the big hills. if you are just driving around slowly and putting around then stock will do the job. but paddles is the only way to go if you ask me. i love to race and climb hills so it all depends on the rider! post a msg on the puget sound forum and ask if anyone has paddles for sell!!! someone might sell you a cheap set.

Well there is a diference between a need and a want. Sand tires are a big help, but if the dunes arent big you shoulnt have any problems. If you were going to bigger dunes like florence, dumont, glamis, sand mnt., and little S. then I would opt for paddles

If you're riding in the winter here, stock tires are ok. Paddles will always be better. On stock tires I run 11/2 to 2 psi in my rears and 2 1/2 to 3 psi in front. Take a tire pump and play with it a little.

I have been to florence, It's great. I cant get sand tires because my dad wont let me. If you can use stock tires on the dunes you dont need sand tires. You dont need something new if you can use what you have. Thanks. So about 3 psi for stock tires. Thanks.
