If you ride like me you will need gas after China Wall, then you got another 25 miles to go...can someone say Desert Tank..

yea i am always on the gas so that's what kills me,i think this year i will be a little easier on the bike because of the build but who knows..

It's in the 25 mile range I believe, and you can go from Buttercup to Glamis, by crossing the bridge at Gordons Well road. Just be sure to gas up both ways and plan on spending most of your day doing it. It's been years since I did it so I don't have a good refrence on how long it would take on the newer quads, I last rode it on my old 185s in the early 80'.
Funny, now I have a fast well suspended quad, and I havent made the trip!

You should be able to get fuel up in Glamis but don't quote me on that. And yes the bridge over the 8 freeway is open.

What, 2.5. Gallons not enough for that lil' ol' 686. It's not like that mill makes any power.....LOL. I hear ya, if you have a relatively stock quad you can make it up with gass to spare, but you have to remember this too raptor03, you can try but you can't ride all the dunes between Butter and Glamis. If you want to go at a good pace and gave either a reasonably stock bike or a big tank you shouldn't have any probs. Just pack accordingly, rope, water etc in case someone breaks down.

You will NOT make it there and back on one tank.

Didn't think so but had to ask, thanks

You used to be able to cross 8 on the bridge, not so sure any more. From there 17 - 20 miles to Glamis on the eastern side of the dunes. Anyone know if you can still cross the bridge?

They have a fuel tank at the Glamis store by the washes. Ive seen people gas up there when the store is open.
