Not to start a fight, but I've never heard of adjusting the angle of your roost. My Edges (hooked paddles) throw sand UP, just ask anyone riding behind me. Sand Sharks don't throw sand as high no matter what pressure is in them.
If 3 PSI bogs that 400 air up to 5-7 until you can spin them.
I agree 100%. The molded paddles like the Sand Sharks need less pressure because they A) tend to be stiffer with heavier casings and B) because they don't need the pressure to keep the blades straight. Paddles like haulers need enough pressure to keep the paddles from folding back under acceleration.

Yep, paddles drag you down a lot. If you want to win drag races a lot of paddle is not the answer. Knobbies will be faster but of course won't hook up very well.

A properly "hooking" paddle will throw roost at a 45deg angle...if the roost is lower then you have too tall a paddle or too little air pressure...if the roost shoots along the ground you have to much air pressure or not enough paddle
I'd start at 5psi and drop from there
I always run 5-6 to keep the bead firmly in place while jumping
For race pressure run 2-4lbs
Have fun in the sand man...its the best

Exactly. A good sand drag holeshot is one where the tires spin. Not so much that you just dig a hole, but you dont want it to hook right up either.

gear down.

Dumont this Saturday will be my first time riding with paddles . I have Sand Sharks and they are still at the million pound bead seal mark , what pressure should I drop them down to ??
Thanks

Ended up at 4.5 psi , what a big difference compared to just useing my razr 2's . I did notice a major problem tho , at comp hill Dumont (the long one on the right was the most popular last weekend) I could burn up it in 3rd with my razr 2's , now with the sharks 3rd only lasts till mid point then down shifting is in need and everyone flys by me at that point , also 5th gear had nothing , it acted like I was going up hill when I was going straight.
Should I go back to my 13t sprocket ??????

im gonna try this. my R throws no roost (sand sharks with a lot of psi) compared to everyone i beat.
