Are you trying to start up a new ATV club in Louisiana? If you are I would be interested in joining. Also, do you go to LA Dunes much? I haven't been since Thanksgiving weekend and I've been itching to go up there again.

We usally dont camp out but like i said it is only a hour and a half drive for us. If i was making the drive yall were i would make it a two day event.
Should have been there for the ATV Jamboree, had to shut the gates down people were parked all the way down the gravel road and onto 165. IT WAS PACKED best three day weekend i had (on a atv). The events got screwed up but you know LA dunes a lot of drag raccing raced all night and all day man i hope they do it again.

i havent seen or heard of the turbo raptor out there would love to though. 800 twin (800 twin snowmobile motor in a POlaris trailblazer frame) was out there though. They did have the tree setup but the orgainzed drag raccing didnt turn out good. They have showers not sure if they are hot water but i will check in two weeks when we go and let you know.

Hey Mr. MXBUBS1, I guess you realize you have just opened yourself up for some unpopular responses with your "simple-minded" comment. First of all, there are plenty jumps along the back side of LA Dunes you just have to get plenty of speed to get some decent air. Maybe thats why you don't have your quad setup on your post - are you not proud of your quad? Secondly, If you have been to LA Dunes, you must live somewhere in the vicinity. If this is true, you must know that there are not many Dune areas to choose from so we all make due - this is the state of Louisiana. Is that why you didn't fill out your profile? Finally, if the dunes were so flat, how come there is always a large pile-up at the first hill?. I guarantee you it's not because it is flat. I know you've heard the saying that if you dont have anything good to say then.... hope to see you at the dunes my friend.

La Dunes suck.....no jumping at all.....flat ground is for girls.

They are in Alexandria, LA. I am not sure how many acres, its not huge by any means. I didn't have much for jumps the few times I have been there, but fun people and fun riding.
Sporty do you think we could post pone it a week I have to work that weekend? How often do you go?
Posted by: Ward660R
Ok I work every third weekend. I will make time some how to get there some time soon, maybe I can get the weekend off. I will let ya'll know tommorow.

There are at least four of us going on the first weekend in March. It will be two Raptors and two 400exs, maybe more. The last time I was there it was packed, yes chicks too. This was a holiday but I don't remeber which one. There were even a couple of buggies. The first time I went I saw a scrambler 500 with all 4 paddles. I have also been on a Sat. when it was almost empty.
Sporty do you recomend camping?
Posted by: Ward660R
I have seen pictures of a raptor with like 16 paddle haulers and a turbo at LA dunes is that when it was there? Did they have the tree up? I haven't seen it up but heard about it. I am also glad to hear they are dragging it now.
I have made it twice as a one day event and twice as a two day. Its only about five hours. I stayed in Alexandria when I stayed. Thats why I thought about camping, but I sure do like those warm showers.

Hey guys, what up. Im kinda new to the connection, but I have been a member for quite a while over at BT. Anyways, I am currently making a list of as many of the Louisiana based riders as I can, so any helpfull info would be great. The more organized we are, the better we can represent ourselves. P.S. - If you are interested in the limited info I have so far, than email me at erickjenny@yahoo.net

Heh. No, not really. I just want to get to know some new ppl from my area that ride and stuff. A new club would be cool thou. I myself went to ride the Camp Clailbore area a couple of weeks ago, but havent been to the dunes since the Holloween Weekend. Looking to go back soon thou. Got an itch that only sand can take care of. lol
