Glamis is great! And the 'gang bangers', or bad egg's only come out on large weekends like Thanksgiving and maybe New Years and they only hang out at the problem spots, like the sand drags and Comp hill at night.
If you have never been to Glamis check it out! And if your coming down I15 you should stop and check out Dumont for a day or two also.

Both Dumont and Glamis will bo cool at night. Currently it's in the 40's at night and 60's during the day. Bring warm clothes if you have a tent!Go to www.weather.com to check weather
For dumont enter the city of Baker, CA and Glamis enter Brawley,CA

Dumont is 2-3 hours from Vegas and about 40 minutes from Baker. Not sure about hotels in the area but there must be some.

I'm in Vegas, Takes me about 2hrs to get from dumont to vegas pulling trailer.
I Try to head up to Dumont on the weekends.
50-60 during the day. COLD at night!
Watch the weather, Dumont doesn't get much rain,
But dam the wind can be WICKED! when a Storm front goes thru.
No ammentities, Pack in Pack out.
Baker is about 35-40 minutes for any supplies ya may need.
I park on the little dunes and ride over by trail to the large dunes.
The Large dunes camping area, can get Crowded real quick on holiday weekends.
I only been there 3 1/2 times. Had a great time for 3 of the trips.

Wyoduner/Wyorider and I are heading that way in mid March. We are gonna stop at Pink Coral also. We need it to warm up a little for Pink Coral, but not be to hot for Glamis and Dumont. Saint Anthonys in the summer and LS, Utah every weekend until I roast!!! Oh... and a few places in Vegas for some beverages.

A friend and I are headed south the first part of January. We live by the Saint Anthony sand dunes. We are going to drive South on I 15 until it is warm. Any recommendations on where to go? We only want warmth, no wind and great riding!!!
Thanks

Is Dumont the place to go in January?
Posted by: RW660
If we just have two days to ride I assume the Dumont is closer to Vegas than Glamis? None of that tent stuff for me!!! Is Baker close enough to stay there?
Posted by: RW660
The 18th and 19th if my buddy can make it. Have you been there before?
Posted by: RW660
March is really questionable!!! The snow might be gone on the south slopes but not the north. I would wait until April and check before you come.

Hey RW660, how early in the year can you quad at St Anthony. Thinking of coming down in late march. Is this possible or is it still to cold. I will be camping in a trailer.

Well, if you have any 3 wheelers, Dumont is for you. If you can look past the gang bangers that have started to ruin Glamis, Glamis is good (as long as you are not a gang banger and you don't have a 3 wheeler).

3cross we are looking to go to dumont on those dates too........email me at davea@lvcm.com, if you have any details to share.........I will let some of my other riding buddies know as well.......thanks......

WOW WOW WOW What gang bangers oh my god is that what people are saying to scare people off from glamis. [i like it if id have known thats all it would have taken to keep everyone one a way from my dunes i would have started these rumors a long time ago]
LOL ive been going to the dunes now for 30 plus years and have yet to have my trip ruined by the gang bangers.there are bad whites blacks and hispanics @the dunes but there are a lot more good whites, blacks and hispanics so chances are you will never run into the bad ones.and moving on if you are in the area and don't stop by glamis you will live to regret it it is the greatest dune exp.out there or thats my opinon which realy dosent matter in the real world .
ps some of the fastest quads at glamis are part of the richards atv gang.and you'll find they are all gang bangers
ps not thrying to start a fight guys it's just the gang banger thing is not a problem.come on down have fun thats what the dunes are for!!!!
