Glamis! if your interested we have a 4 day trip planned for Presidents day weekend, Feb 15-18th. E-mail me if you want directions to our camp site.

All of your machines will work great at Glamis.

Take the two strokes and leave the EX at home. The sand is the one place where the 400EX feels pretty underpowered, especially if you're trying to keep up with Banshee's, Zilla's, Raptor's, etc.

SilveLake, MI is a lot closer to you, but small. Little Sahara, OK is a lot bigger and a pretty nice place to ride.

At Silver Lake, you have to pack your stuff up and leave each night. At Little Sahara, you can ride right from your camp site and ride 24 hours a day.

I would choose a 2 stroke over a 4 at the dunes.

Iowa sucks, I'm moving west.

Little Sahara Utah and Saint Anthony's are much closer to you by about 12-14 hrs. They both have everything you'll ever want in a duning experience. Glamis is bigger, but has nothing on either of these two places. If you wanted to hit both May is a good month, because Idaho needs time to warm up. Utah will be in the 60-75 degree range while Idaho will be 55 degrees or so. Copy and paste my Url and you decide.

P.S. Note the pic near the bottom that says Awsome hill.........LOL

You live in a bad state for duning. You can bring the 400ex if you need something to put around camp on but honestly the (real) dunes are made for the 2 strokes. Yep, you could go to silver lake but you need to go a lot further for some real dunes. Like Sandgod said, L.S. Utah or St. Anthony, Idaho are the closest good dunes. It's probably more like 30 hours of driving though from PA, depending on what part of PA you're in.

Check my site for pics and info on most of the dunes in the UT/ID/CO/WY area.

All three will work fine-Glamis in Southern California is the place for dune riding.

I have a 400ex, slightly modified and a 250r with lots of mods, and my brother has a lt750, i was wondering which one would be better for the dunes. and if anybody knows a good place to ride the dunes please let me know. I will travel to ride.

I think Little Sahara in OK. is your best bet. It has good facilities(24hr showers, bathrooms)also has 2 pretty good parts stores in camp(will have everything to fix your Honda's if need be),also a good conv.Store in camp(gas,grill,flags,ect).1500 Acre's of mixed dunes and trails.Parameter fence all the way around the dunes and trails(hard to get lost)On a busy weekend their will be anywhere from 2000 to 10,000 people. Everyone is very easy to get along with(I have never heard of any problems amongst the Campers ,It is a fun atmosphere. I personally have met dozens of people from all over and all are their for the same reason, to have fun with their families and friends.Enjoy!

the one thing Silver Lake has going for it is its only about 7 hrs from the penn. state line, if you've never been to the dunes it would be an excellent place to try them out, im slightly partial because the only place i go is silver lake, mainly due to the fact that my next choice would be st. anthonys, however silver lake is an hour and a half away, and 30 hrs to st. anthonys, if you just want to try the sand, silver lake would give you a chance to see if you like it, but be forewarned it is small (about 500 acres you can ride on) and on weekends and holidays you need a pass to get in, ive never went on the weekend so im not sure if you can get them ahead of time ( its always fun to take a day off from work and get paid to ride in the dunes) where ever you decide as long as its got sand its good enough
