Boner,
You must be talkin' about Ray & Flo's. They are real turds. I tried to buy a little E-Ton from them at Christmas, but I could not get anyone to help me. I stood in the store for about 20 min., fingering the quad and still, no one came to help me. Oh well, it was there loss. I went to First Turn and bought a '99 Lt80. I hope you have good luck with them. Also, make sure that your pay check doesn't bounce. I know a fella that used to work over there and his was like a basketball.

I would like to know every positive and negative attribute of these tires that anyone would be willing to tell about. I am pretty much in "tire research mode" right now, and I'd like to get some first hand knowlege of the fine points of the Claws. No Vampire comparisons though please, I don't want this topic to turn into a war zone. I just want to know how they do in the woods mainly, and how they ride and steer. I ride more woods than mud, but I want the aggressive 27" tire that will add clearance. I also want to mount them on a stock 6.5" rim. I know at least that you can do it with a 27x12 Mud Bug. It may be possible with Claws or Vamps too then. Only a half inch less than the 7" wide ITP's that everybody has them on.

I saw some again today at a Honda dealer and I think thats what I will get when the time comes. I think I will air up my stocker real big and then go do some donuts on the asphalt so I will have a reason to NEED new tires!
No really, they had a lot of different kinds, and I think that the Claws were the best bet here.

I think I have my mind made up now. I'm not out for a tire to brag on being the best. I just think I found the one that I like the best. Kind of like my quad. Not a big % of people would ever call the AC 500 the best bike ever built. I wouldn't, but I think it suited me the best. If the front differential was a little better, I would have no complaints.

Are you after a good deal on a sportsman? I have this feeling that you still secretly desire one. I do too, if they would make it a manual shift.

He is in Louisiana so its swamp city down there. I think he is mainly talking about the majority of those mud runners in the south that take a Sportsman and lift it, thus putting the CV joints at odd angles, and then slapping on a set of heavy 27x12 Vampires front and back. The extra weight and the odd angle from the lift will put quite a strain on any atv's front end, and seeing that it is a Polaris dealer, the quad in question would be a Polaris. The guy is just covering his own butt really. He can pretty much do this in context, because Polaris's website claims that you shouldn't even add big tires. But then again, that is like riding with a passenger or talking on the phone while driving a car. Its not really something that people give a hoot about. If I were adding big tires, it would take a message from god to keep me from doing it.

LOL-yea right.... That's a bad dealer. I hardly see a stock a tire on Polaris 4x4's around here. Sure if you put a lift kit and 28" vamps on a Sportsman, and then try to ride it like a Banshee, something is going to go. But that's no different from any other quad.

I rode an Sp 500 with Bi/Tri-Claw Magnums today. It vibrated up to about 10 mph on the cement but after that it was a great ride. Maybe tommorrow I will ask the boss if I can ride the Sp 500 with Vamps.
P.S- I got me a job at the local Polaris dealership.

Andy,
YOu know I want one. But only as a 2nd quad. I was thinking of getting a sp 500 for muding but my boss/dealer voids the warranty with different tires because of all the damage they cause on Polaris quads.

Andy...I'm searching also...can we ask also if bigger sized tires created any clearence problems with fenders? Also rim mounting facts would help.
Sorry to butt in...Bill
