In the May '00 [i]4-Wheel ATV Action[/i], they talk about how the Sand Skate Is on their Project DS650 were [b]comp grooved[/b]. What is comp grooving?

I think comp grooving, is taking a slight amount of material of the carcass of the tire. Making the tire more flexible and supposedly enabling better traction over bumps.
