Have any of you all put 26" MudLite XTR's of a Honda Foreman 450/500? I am considering this modification and when I look at the fit of the stock tires, I worry that there is simply not adequate clearence in the front wheel well for the slightly larger rubber. I would greatly appreciate comments from any of you that have seen this done to this particular rig or have one themselves.

Thanks,
Mike

Any of you viewing, if you have 27" Mudlites or similar tire, I would like to know how that size works with this ATV. I am worried about adequate clearance.

Thanks,
Mike

I appreciate those that have dialed in to try and help. After posting this, I found a Honda Foreman specific forum where this question has been asked and answered a great number of times. The jist of the posts is: Yes, 27" Mudlites and the like will fit OK on a Foreman, BUT, in some, yes, some, not all, trimming the mud flaps and bending the fender support bracket on the front end is necessary to keep the cool tires from rubbing. A number of the posts related that there was no problem or rubbing at all and an equal number reported having to "adjust" the brackets that support the front fenders. Same for the plastic mud flap. So, the 27" tires will work, but one needs to be prepared to make some adjustments to his/her rig to make them run perfectly.

I hope this helps future novices like myself.

Friend of mine has a 2006 Rubicon and he put a set of 27" mudlite xtr tires and ITP rims on his bike. he HAD to lift it 2" to keep from rubbing the front and rear, He also put on some better springs all the way around. He bought everything at high lifter and he loves it. I have an 2001 Foreman ES 4x4 and I'm using 26" mudlites XL and ITP rims 26-10-12 up front and 26-12-12 in the rear. No lift no rubs. There about 3 years old and still have plenty of tread. I personally think there a Great tire. Only complaint, Backing up they want to spin and dig a little.
