Welcome to the forum georgiarider123!

I would try 1 3/4 to 2 turns out. If that doesnt help Id guess something is in the carb and it needs cleaning. almost forgot to ask...are you using the stock spark plug? Some of the chinese plugs arent so great under a load.

Good call on changing the oil. I would guess that engine takes a NGK C7HSA spark plug if you want to try a new one.

I purchased a new go cart a few weeks ago. 125cc bullet from www.globaltrailer.net. I have had problems with this go cart since day 1. I can ride the go-cart for about 5 minutes and it gets really really hot. Once I come to a stop and sit for a few minutes, it will barely take off when I am ready. I can go slowly in 1st gear, however it will not pull at all in 2nd gear. Once I park it and let it cool, it is ready to go for another 5 minutes in 1st or 2nd gear. The store I bought it from said to snug the air screw and then back it out 1.5 turns. I tried this last night and still the same result. Any ideas, please help. I would not consider myself a machanical person by any means.

Great, I will try 2 turns tonight and see what happens. Yes, I am still using the original plug. I have probably less than 1 hr on the cart. The only thing I have done is changed the shipping oil and replaced it with 5W 30.

I'll give those 2 suggestions a try.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
