It sounds like you may have a bind somewhere. Make sure your cable is as kink-free as possible. Are the two ball bearings in the knob assembly sticking? If so, this may be keeping the knob from locking in place. Beware that these two bearings have a tendancy to drop out upon disassembly so be careful. If their sticking spray some silicone lubricant and lightly press them down with a pair of needle nose pliers until they free up.

Need help with warn 424 select. I can pull the knob to disengage but as soon as I let go it pulls back in. I have tried to adjust the cable but it does'nt help. Any help would be great.
