I have Holeshot ATR's, but with them you would be looking at new rims as well. But, they are light and with some light rims, it improves performance.

For the type of riding you do and your budget requirements, I would also recommend the Dirt Devils, Mud-Lites, and perhaps the original Super Swampers.

Dirt Devils are very reasonably priced........and smooth as glass on pavement, if you must ride pavement.

Hi All -- I have a 04 Rancher that needs replacement tires (front and back). I am hoping that you may be able to guide me in the right direction in getting replacement tires....
I am looking for all around use - trail riding and some pavement riding......something that is priced in an "affordable" price range, and something that will last for some time. I am a budget minded person due to limited income, but I don't want to replace tires every year........ The rims are still original from the dealer....
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!!! TIA

If your stock tires have performed well for your riding and seeing you mentioned hard pack surface I would also consider the Kenda Bearclaws, they have awesome tread length from my experience. While they aren't nearly as aggressive as lites, bugs, etc they will perform much better than stockers in the slop.
Dad has a set of Dirt Devil AT's on his griz and they also appear to be a great choice very similar to the bear claws.
I am trying for the first time Mud Lites, so far all is well and since I need a bit more mud capability they show better in the slop than my BC's did or dads AT's..but I can see them wearing quicker for the mostly hard pack rider as the rubber compound does not appear to be as stiff as the other 2 tires.

Just replaced the tires on my Polaris Xpedition with ITP Mudlites, really impressed with them so far and they were the best buy I could find, but because they are 6 ply, they do make it ride a little stiffer, but it sure steers and handles a bunch better than the OEMs. Bought them off eBay.
