The littel EX is a sweet machine, but it has its limitations. Being shaft drive, it has limited suspension in the rear. It isn't bad, it just isn't up to the level of a full on, high end sport quad.

Dead solid reliable. These things will run forever.

I seen your pic of your 300 Arctic Cat on your last post. Two problems with the AC of that year. AC used big frames and just put different size engines in them ,so even though its only a 300 its a roomy ATV. AC also used that wried toe heel shifter that was hard for anyone to get used to back then. The 250 ex sounds better for her and its shifter is much easier to use . You have a sport ATV so you don,t want her lumbering behind you on some Utility Quad, get the Honda.

I just got my new Outlaw and she is riding my old Arctic Cat. The only problem is that she's 5'0" and maybe 100lbs. She has problems maneuvering on it and shifting. Its a clutchless 5 speed (whatever you call it, no clutch but gotta shift). She would rather have a full auto and something smaller. I was browsing ebaymotors and saw a 2003 Honda 250EX. They look just her size.

She can probably deal with another clutchless manual, just really needs something smaller. What other quads are reliable and ~$2000?

^I agree completely. I have no idea why they put such a small engine on such a big frame. The 'cat looks like it is missing something its so empty underneath. And a lot of times when she's riding I'll see her stand up on the heel shifter b/c she doesn't weigh enough to push it down....haha. I'll have to find a 250EX locally and see if she can test ride it.
