Nerf bars, do they need the heel guard too? The factory one is insufficient?

AS long as the nerfs don't have a foot sized gap between the stock guards, the whole thing should be pretty safe. If you have any doubts, the aftermarket stuff is generally sturdier, but oem stuff seems to offer a little more protection.

The stock ones should do fine if you don't beat on the quad, or step on the heel guards all the time. The aftermarket ones are really for people that beat on there machines, because they can hold up to the abuse better.

I believe you are the one asking for the family, so I'd recommend keeping the stockers.

Yeah I agree, happened to my friend and my fiance'. Took 20 minutes to get my friend untangled from the rear axle.

heel gaurds just get in the way ur better off without them anyway in my oppinion i never use mine everytime i get a new quad i take them right off and just buy nerfs with race pegs...the kind without heel gaurds

When i left the stocker heal guards on, i had to cut them to make enough room for the new nerfs. i don't knnow if Suzuki's are the same way or not.

I see some come with the heel guard and some come without. The atv's I've been looking at have the heel guard already there. They look like they just need something in front of the peg. Is the one on there from the mfg no good(we're looking at suzuki's)?
thanks,

I thought it looked OK with the stock setup, but I would like the extra floorboard of the regular nerf w/o the heel part.

Thanks

Yeah, these will be for my kids and I. I just want the quad to be as safe as possible. There will be enough bumps and bruses as it is. They'll have ful gear, including boots.

Thanks
