i think that for mudding your going to like a 500 over a 400. i have loved riding the eigers i have but i think for mud a 500 would be better than a 400. but it has alot to do with rider skill, or even the kodiak 450 has a bit larger feel to it and has the front diff lock like someone already said would be nice but all of them are going to do what you wanted

Howdy everbody. I am new to the forum. I am considering the purchase of either a Vinson, Eiger, Kodiak 450, or Honda AT. I do around 50% mud riding and 50% trail riding. Nothing to hardcore or anything. If I get the Vinson or Eiger, which tranny? Open to suggestions as to other atv's.

I go through some pretty deep water sometimes and was wondering if the Auto could stand up to that? Some of the holes at Windrock go up to the racks. Would the Auto start slipping?

I'm 6' 3" 190lbs. I hope that helps.

I think the Eiger would be the atv for me. I have heard too much about the frame cracking on the Vinson. I got a question. Why is the frame cracking on the Vinson and not on the Eiger. Also, what is a reasonable cost for a 2005 Eiger Auto 4x4 right now. I saw one site that had them marked down to $4883. I am also going to get a winch and the extended warranty.
