I highly recommend the Z400. It's a bike that a beginner can handle, yet an experienced rider can still have fun on it. Handling is excellent both in the dunes and out on the trail. When you are ready for more power, the engine hops up really well with just a few simple mods (like exhaust system, open airbox lid, etc.).
The 400EX is also a great handling machine, but doesn't have the power of the Z.

Sounds like the Z is right up your alley. Also, the new(and improved?) models will be out soon. It is either a good time to get the latest and greatest, or get a good deal on a still sweet '05.

Hey, I'm 16 and 150 lbs and 5'9". I want to buy my first quad and I havent ridden many to find out what the best bike is. I want a bike that can take on the dunes, have tons of power and speed. I would really prefer something with reverse. I want something that can take a little abuse and keep on goin!
Thanks for the help!
