With a price limitation like that, it is a given that you are talking a used machine. May I suggest you seek out a local riding club, join it, and see if some of the members have a decent machine available for purchase? Just about every club I belong to has members that are either planning upgrades, or have a spare machine in the shed... Most dealers do not want to handle a used machine... so they do not give a lot in trade when upgrading.. so most people just park them. You might find a deal.. and you will get someone with knowledge of the unit. Makes more sense to me.

I have to admit I am not the guy to talk to about that subject.... I avoid the mud as much as I can, as I don't like spending hours cleaning everything. If you are really serious, you need to think about snorkles and extending all the vent tubes to a higher location etc. You will probably need to go through the entire machine and make sure that it is sealed VERY WELL. Mud will get in everywhere and wreak havoc with bearings, brakes, clutches, electrics you name it. You will need to grease it religously too.. and check for corrosion all the time. Especially in your wiring....
Did you sort of get the drift here? Mud can be fun... but there are a lot of maintenence issues associated with doing it... and I am not so inclined anymore. I prefer riding to working on it and spending large amounts of cash replacing parts.

you can get like a used eiger in like four wheel drive for that. but if i were you i would go with a wolverine. they are 4x4 but still fairly sporty
and you could get one of them easily for that price

Hey Im kinda new to ATV's... I've been mudding and absolutely enjoyed it. Im looking to get myself a ATV that can withstand mudding and wading across water and the such.... My limit is about 3500 unfortunately. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks for the help, Im looking at a 350 Rancher to buy.... or a 400 Kodiak..
I want to get serious in mudding(Not as a Profession.. just for fun). What kind of parts do I need to upgrade to keep the engine running good without dying from all the mud? Intake? or what?
Thanks, again.

i'm not sure what you can get for 3500, but i know you could most likely find an eiger for around that, and if your looking for a mean, muddin machine, don't let anybody tell you different. these little things can hold their own. my best friend has one and he goes thru anything my vinson can. maybe not as quickly, but he always gets thru. we ride with alot of bigger machines, and he usually doing the pulling instead of getting pulled.
