id say 1st quad to look for something to leaarn on not whaat your lookin at but when your ready a honda trx450r

Posted by: UltimateAussie

DS 650 they are fast as he!! and you can definatly feel the acceleration. if you are big enought to control the ds you should have no problems with you being a novice

All I know is that the raptor does good in the mud for having a 2x4 drive, it's fast, has great acceleration, has reverse for trails, good suspension, may not be the best, but it's comfortable! If you want any quad to be reliable, you have to maintain it every time you ride it. Like cleaning the air filter/check the oil, etc. The reason I sold my raptor, if you are wondering, is because I need another MX machine and the raptor doesn't have the acceleration of a 450, but again, the 450's don't have reverse, and the torque of the raptor! Think about it, we are here to help you!

PREDATOR 500

I'd just wait to get the 700R. Fuel injection will sure be nice. I think anyone 15 and older will be able to handle it.

One of the 450's sould be your choice for jumping, the Honda if you want top end speed but forget the 660 get the 700R!

Honda Rancher4x4ES 350

hey go with the new raptor 700r is fuel injected and going to be a beast... nothing on the marker right now can compare to it

If you want a good engine and want to feel the acceleration I'd definately get the BF 750. Not only will it beat alot of sport quads but its good at speed, mud, and water. I havn't even had to use my winch to pull myself out. It has been used to pull out alot of other 4 wheelers

You're going to get a hundred different opinions on here... none are wrong or right. When I was looking at buying my quad just 2 months ago, I was down to either a Raptor or Predator. I chose the Predator TLD because the stock package was so much better than the Raptor's.

Handling on the TLD Predator is great. They have the Fox adjustable shocks with reservoir and the Polaris PRO front end. It is a great stock machine and has already won 2 Sport Quad of the Year awards. However, I think you should take any advice with a grain of salt... I own a TLD so it's obvious that I think it is a great machine.

Other choices... the Z400/KFX400 is great and maybe take a look at a hybrid since you want to do mud and water.
