Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Camp. I recommend never buying anything you cannot lay hands on.

Buying things off ebay is ok, just make sure and pick quads that are within driving distance and go look before you buy. If they wont let you come and see it then forget that one and go on to the next. If you find a quad that you really want that is out of driving range, ask to come and look at it even if your not going to. Right then you will know by their response if it is a bogus sale or legit.

I've been looking at a few different quads on Ebay and saw some with "PayPal buyer credit". Anyone ever use this? Opinions will be appreciated.

I would never buy something I couldn't inspect, or at least get someone else to inspect for me. As for scams, 5 people are trying to sell me the same ATV(see Yammie forum) for $1100, an '04 YFZ450I E-Mailed ebay about it, but they continue to come and they all want my userID, which they would have to have if they really were the sellers!

Camp, did you get your money back somehow?

I guess the question is, Did you get any compensation from eBay?

Personally, I wouldn't buy an ATV or anything that would cost over $500.00 on Ebay or any other auction site for that matter. It's too easy to scam loads of money for things like ATVs and anything auto/bike related. You also want to make sure it's safe. If you really want to buy one off of Ebay then do what rldbobcat suggested.
