After owning a new 00 400ex, there is no way I would own a 400ex instead of a Raptor. The price is too high on the 01 400ex....thats a $3000 quad. The Raptor stock will clown that mild 400ex in a drag and have gobs of trail riding torque too. Make sure the owner has been maintaining the quad correct. ALso, make sure it drives straight and check too make sure the frame is not tweaked anywhere.

time to choose

I sold my warrior....last fall, needed and upgrade

and now i am buying a bike tonight...

the choice is between these two

2001 honda 400ex

full skid plat
+2 dynablu axle
nerf bars
yoshimuru exhaust
k&N filter and jet kit
possible a high compression piston

$4,000

or a

2003 Yamaha Raptor (barely riden, nubs still on tires)

basically stock with nerf bars and possible a K&n

$4500

I am diggin the fact that the 400ex is hooked up but the raptor is brand spankin new practially

and its got reverse which will help for the type of riding i do, trails and all

what should i do..i am gonna test ride them both today at 4-ish Eastern time

yeah..the raptor is stock miunues the nerfs...

that 400 ex has some good mods...

but i can buy a pipe and jet the raptor down the road...so I'm going for the raptor

i can just do more with it..and thats what i want..specially if i'm goinna drop $4500

nice deal... but your also proly had some hours on it.. being that it was modified that much with extras... mine was practically brand new, still had the little nubs on the tires
