you will pay out the rear for paddles and nerfs from the dealer. get the bike without them and save some dough. check out the aftermarket shops for good deals.

i'm saving up to buy the new honda 450R. my local dealer is sellin it for an even 7 grand, which is $500 above MSRP. the guy said that he'd give me a $500 "discount". when i asked him how much i would be spendin out the door with his "discount" he said with tax, and liscensing it would cost me $7,040. i live in california, and the tax is 7.25%. how low do u think i could talk them down on the price? i also need nerf bars (a requirement by my mother, not to mention i want some ne way, they've saved me more than a few times) and would like paddles. i figure i could pay the MSRP and get a set of nerf bars thrown in for free and maybe half off a set of paddles? does this sound un-reasonable to anybody? if there are any dealers in here, can you possibly give me some tips on getting the best deal? any help or advice would be awesome, thanx.

i realize that paddles r expensive and i know nerfs can run as much as $400 (on the extreme end). when we got out 300EX and 250EX we got both brand new, nerfs for both, gloves, helmets, goggles, for 3 people, and a trailer for under 15 grand. my mom had to do a lot of negotiating, but the dealer has given me some killer deals on aftermarket parts. ie: $140 skid plate for 90 bucks. i think i'm jus gonna talk the dealer down on the price, and then go to my parts guy, he can get me some paddles for about 20% less than the MSRP, and same for nerf bars. thanx for the input.
