Well, by the machines you have listed, I would assume that you want the reverse gear.

I'm with 1blazinltz.......go with the Z400/KFX400

If you last rode an ATC250R, I don't think any current quad would be too much for you to handle....LOL

You probably wouldnt be happy with the warrior for long. Its a step back from the performance you had with the 250r. The 300 Honda is a nice ride, easy to work on and reliable. Lots of aftermarket and oem parts available for it everywhere. You may look towards the Yam. Blaster also. Its a mild machine, but tons of them used for a reasonable price and easy to work on. No reverse though. The Polaris machines are great as long as they havent been modified too much. the 250 trailblazer is more like riding a 125. strictly for the beginner. Look for the 400 if you go that route. Its a plush ride and plenty of performance and it holds it's value.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

For the price, it doesnt sound bad. My neighbor has a warrior. And a KFX400. Nobody wants to ride the warrior anymore and it was touched up with some nice accessories. Its a tank. But any bike in the $2000 to $3000 range is good for a 2001. As long as it wasnt beat up. With the 450r Honda out now, you should see alot of used 400ex's out there this summer too.

Good luck.

Before you buy a 300ex or a blaster go and sit on one..
You said you were 5'11''.....
Well I'm 5'9'' and these two bikes seemed alittle
on the small side for me..
They are both good bikes but at your size I'd look
at the warrior ,if it has to be used.
But I'm with the majority so far..z400
I bought my first new quad last year,kfx400
Before that I've always bought used..Love the new400

Don't know about the pics, but if the warrior is in good shape and runs well
it would be a good choice..

go for a LTZ/kfx 400 they are easy to ride and have good power awsome suspention and reverse and VERY reliable i think a (no effence to 300ex owener) A STOCK 300ex would be 2 slow and the polaries scrambler is not very reliable from my past xperences and belive it or not the LTZ does good through mudd and water but ruts it has a problem but its a very very good all around machine adn there is TONS of mods out and u can pick a new one up for like 5,200 atleast thats how much i paid for mine new

YEA KNOWSALOT team effort oh yea by the way the new limited edition LTZ came out...WOAH its sexy! black and yellow and a li ldiffrent exhaust so it sounds niceeee but i mean u have to go with ur instinct on this im only 13.......

Hi.

I'm 5"11" and about 170lbs.

I'm planning on doing mostly trail riding on the weekends. Nothing too serious. I grew up driving ATV's and snowmobiles but I haven't been serious into it for the past 10 years almost. The last manual clutch machine I drove was a Honda 250R three wheeler, back in the late 80's.

I want something with some power, but not too much...and something that looks good and can be made better with some upgrades if necessary.

I really like the look and performance of sport quads and would like a model such as:

Yamaha Warrior
Polaris Scrambler
Honda 300ex
etc.

What are my best options?

I'm most seriously looking at the Honda 300ex or the Yamaha Warrior.

They seem to be the only bikes around here that I can find second hand.

I'd prefer ($$$ reasons) to buy used.

Anything to look for in a used atv???

I found a 2001 Warrior for $3000

I've got some pics...how do I attatch them???

It's a 2001. Upgraded exhaust..hand guards..nerf bars..and it's stickered to death

I had it running and it seems really strong.

mmmm...

Should I buy it???
