if you are looking at trail riding, the raptor might be a better bet. the reverse gear is high, but is easy to use when you get used to it. its only useless in the soft sand. the ds is a great dune machine and is actually a little faster stock than a rappy. size wise, your friend should be happy on either bike. just sitting on them helps, but test rides are great.

The best thing would be to ride them both. Does he need reverse? How big is he?

I would probably say the raptor because I've seen all size people riding them and from what I've heard they really fun.

go with the DS650, i have 2 bombardiar snowmobiles...i know its not a quad..but they are 1970's and they STILL RUN EXCELENNT, i mean i can smoke some new polaris 400's out there. Bombardiar is a good company. The ds650 is more of a duner quad will the raptor is a little better on trails.. Go with the ds.

just like the title says. which one is a better choice? my friend cant decide. we do all kinds of riding. Fire roads, sand pits. etc.

hes about 6 feet. 250 pounds. Reverse isnt a big deal. I have heard the reverse on the raptor is so high its only good on the pavement and it sucks anywhere else.

he really really loves the ds but the only thing that is getting him is the no reverse for the ds. From everyones opinions is it that big of a deal to stop him from getting it?
