The suzuki 700 twin peak is around the corner LOL it's a 700 kawi with different plastic and slightly better crappy tires. suzuki is releasing a 700 single shortly to go with the 700 kawi. Only a few 650 ac here but the guys here love em and the 2 guys I know went king quad to AC650. I like the 700 kawi myself.

I believe the plowing is point mute becuase both will plow snow like crazy. I plow snow with my 650 Kawi and there's only one thing that stops it.. it's the brakes. I never got the kawi stuck plowing and I plowed snow higher than my pick-up truck. The Kawi will pull it's share of work. The irs is I would say is the biggest difference so if you like the IRS buy the cat or wait until next year... if you like the feel of the solid axle buy the Kawi700. The Kawi's weakest part is the clutch (which the AC has too...) but with regular maintance and some cheap springs it will not be a problem. I would make sure the AC is running the 700 clutches not the old 650 cluches. A kawi shop has more experince servicing the bike because it's been out for 3 years now. The engine is bullet proof.

I think it would be great if you were an animal hibernating... everyone likes sleeping in. 64cm of thick fog and still counting in 24 hours.

the ac IS basically a prarrie

i was having this dilemma to. I bought the P700 and a p400 for the girlfriend.

Tough decision! The Cat looks awsume and should run pretty good with that big Kawi twin but the Prairie is the sportiest ride you can get on a ute and leave them all in the dust..........................I'd look hard at the Suzuki Twin Peaks. Its just a Prairie 700 with sportier looks......................

You will have a lot more fun on a P700 and it will plow great too. IRS is over-rated for most conditions. Also the 700 is quite a bit more powerful than the 650 from every side by side comparison of the 2.

I have a polaris 700 and if I was going to buy a new atv It would be the ac 650 Its got everything- the complete package . If your pushing snow I think It would do the job better out of the 2.the kaw is more of a sport atv the ac is a working atv.

Dose the kaw have low range

The only thing prairie on the 650 is the engine, everything else is pure Cat.

I love your bad machine! Same interests here. I was wondering who makes to box on the back? I am pretty sure I am going w the P700 also. It just won 4x4 shootout in 4-wheel atv action mag. Look forward to joining the ranks of big bore atving.

Gravelgordon, A friend of mine and I bought our ATV on the same day at the same dealership, He bought an AC 650 w/Kawy motor and I bought my P700 camo(In my pictures). I had got all kind on ATV in the past and knew the P650 reliability. I owned an AC too back in 2002 but had all kind of problems, so I trade it for a Demo Grizz also in my pictures. The reasons why I went with a straight Axle in the back / not IRS is because I feel that the independant suspension are too high and too tippy. If I would like to be that high I would probably get myself a horse. The P700 doesn't have the Ground clearence like the AC, polaris or Grizz but it's a true working horse and also fun to play around. The ground clearance doesn't do any good when you loose control and flip it. All of the new ATV's are reliable these day's an no ATV's are better than another one but I can assure you that If I would have to buy another ATV I would get the same... Even After trying my friend's AC 650.

If you ride in VERY deep mud or over LARGE rocks then go with the AC. I have the P700 and wouldn't trade it for any other quad. It is really a blast to pull up next to sportier bikes and then just blow em away (or at least keep up with em) then be able to climb any hill, tackle any around the farm chore, do tail slides, and ride power wheelies until you are content.
At least you have settled on a great powerplant. Remember to do the NyRoc muffler mod and (if it is the AC) re-jet ASAP. The AC is jetted 21% leaner than the Kawi.

Enjoy that v-twin rumble and keep the shiny side up.

Keep us posted.

I could not agree more with DaRiot.......I have a P700 and love it. If I had to get something other than the P700, it would be the AC650. I ride in very deep mud with other guys that have polaris's, griz's and AC's, and I go through everything that they do. I have 28" ITP 589's and a 2" lift as well. I still drag the rear end sometimes, but the front lock just pulls me through with all of the power I have. And when we get on some dirt trails, I have to wait for them to catch up, even one guy with his new EFI SP700. We draged raced the other day on the street and there was no comparison. The griz is still faster than the EFI SP 700. But, either way, you really can't go wrong with the KAW P700 or AC650......Good luck and let us know what you get. (Poor-o-larris = "The way out .....with no way back" LOL)

My friend and I are in the market for new quads. He's an AC man and I ride an older suzuki. We narrowed it down to the AC650 or the prairie 700. He's buying the AC for sure and is pressuring me to buy the AC, because we can save $400.00 if we buy two. (Right noe the price is the same for the Kaw. or the AC). I'm still not convined. I need a machine for 75% snow plow/yard work and 25% playing. The AC should have a better ride and the Kaw. should be faster. Does any one who owns one of these machine have pros or cons about either.
