Speedy,
I don't believe youBR>
Are you sure your talking about the Suzuki Z400? They are one of the best trails machines out there.
I have to assume like you said in your second post its riders skill that matters.

LOL,
Oh My G''D
I feel that Raptors pain and what a waste of good tires.

I would definately try to ride a few different machines and see what is best for you! I prefer the Rappy but you may not.

the predator is a good trail/sport quad and has pleanty of speed

I like the Z400. Or a Raptor if you want to go big bore (the bike is to narrow for my taste). The 450's will need some time before we know whether they are bulletproof or not.

RapyoryFM660r- Here's something you haven't put on your Raptor. tires

The picture just reminded me of another picture in 2002 Dirt Wheels, Over the Bars on page 10.
It is of a Raptor with 28 inch Outlaws on the back. They also installed a 74 tooth rear Side Winder sprocket. It also had 25 inch Wolf Tracks on the front.
Talk about a Raptors pain.

For trails specifically, I would get a 4 stroke with reverse. I highly recommed the Z/KFX/AC400 as a great all-around quad with mod potential. If you want a bigger engine, as much as I like the Predator, I still believe you should have reverse, so you'd have to consider the Raptor.

the z400 is the best al aroud quad in my opinion

Warriors are great on the trails, but sand and hills kill the bikes power. I am thinking about a DS. I like the Raptor, but the dealer won't let me test driveI could understand if it was brand new, but he has a used one outside.
When I am ready, that dealer will not be getting my money!!

I will mainly be driving on trails and hills. I would like something that will go and also has the ability to have aftermarket parts added for racing and speed and performance gains. What is the best out there right now?
Mercury

ok listen if u want a good sport quad that kick's @ss on the trails go with the warrior it's easily modable and can b bored to i think 430 and yes it will climb ne sh!t and more than a raptor can don't think it has a lack of power it easily outclimbs the Z400.. u don't bleive me get some buddies and find out for yourself ....

well it rider skill too...
Posted by: Speedy2222
i rode 2 warriors a 435 and a 390 both were great in sand but the 390 did seem to lose power hlel the little honda 300ex's i rode seemed to climb better( due mainly to tire design) but they did seem to lsoe some power in sand( i got stuck within 30 secs of riding in sand my first tiem out)

Tough questions...you are probably going to get responses that are suited to individual taste. It would be nice if you could ride a few of the machines you are interested in to see what you like and dislike. I have a Raptor and love it but I haven't had the chance to ride much else so I couldn't give you an honest opinion. Try not to be too brand loyal, there a lot of nice machines on the market.

Hey Speedy2222, I agree that the Warrior is a very nimble machine especially for trails. Those that put them down may not realize that they remain the #1 all time best selling ATV...that says a lot. However, I own both an 03' Warrior and an 04' Raptor. The Raptor is much better suited to me though I still like the Warrior. But to say the Warrior will climb as good or better than the Raptor. Ummmmm...I don't think so. Stock Warrior vs. Stock Raptor....no way. Higly modified Warrior vs. stock Raptor....maybe. Modified Warrior vs. modified Raptor....no way. Raptors are very easy to modify too you know....heard of the Big 727?BR>
I speak from experience. I did a nice back flip down a very steep hill with my Warrior becase it just didn't quit have the torque to get me over the top. I took my stock Raptor up the same hill and shot of the top lip. It is what it is.

You're right Psycho
I think everyone has hear that saying....because it's true.BR>
I gave the Warrior to my wife and she loves it and is very suited to it. I still ride it on occasion, usually when someone wants to hop on my Raptor, but the Raptor is much, much better suited to my riding style and my size.

BTW....I would love to jump on a DS. I've heard lots of good things about them.
I typically buy Yamaha not so much for brand loyalty but because my dad's friend own a Yamaha delership so we get excellent deals. Sometimes it just comes down to $$$.

If you are a trailrider, get the EX or raptor. Personally I would get one of the new 450's, but the $$$ you have to give away is unbelievable!!
Im loyal to yamaha, so go with the rappy
Posted by: TexasPsycho
raptor. get something with a reverse.
Posted by: TexasPsycho
i like the warrior and have thought about buying one for my wife but there is no way it will out do the raptor. no replacment for displacement. i know everyone has heard that saying.

Go with the rappyyou'll like the power
