I owned both brand new back to back a few years ago. First I had a new 95 Lakota then I bought a new 97 Wolverine and I will tell you the Lakota is far more fun than the Wolverine. The Lakota is very tossable, a good jumper and has plenty of torque.

The Wolverine is quick though for a 4x4 but in a drag race with both machines stock the Lakota would always win on the top end (however the Lakota wouldn't start gaining ground until about 30mph).

Facts are facts though the Wolverine is more useful because of it's 4x4.

In the long run the Wolverine will be your best bet. There are also a lot more mods out for the Wolverine now then there was when I had mine so you can really make them scream.

The Lakota and the Wolvy should be about the same speed. If anything the Wolverine will probably kill the Lakota. The Wolverine has more weight, full time 4x4, and it's still faster. You get to go pretty fast AND go anywhere with the Wolverine, while on the Lakota you get to go a lot less places at a slower pace. Don't get me wrong, the Lakota is a good trail rider. Didn't they discontinue the Lakota this year?

No comparison man. They arent even on the same planet. Wolvy hands down.

Wolvy is no doubt the best machine.
