Unclerayray, we have a 700Vforce and have to agree with you. The suspension sucks and they handle like s**t on the tight trails. We have ours for sale. Hubby is upgrading the 400ex for now and plans on getting something with a manual in the future.

uncleray, if you are talking about a stock mojave doing 67 then you should get your facts straight, and take off at least 10mph.

the mojave has a bigger displacement of 249cc, the honda only has 229cc, honda wieghts 349 lbs the kawi wieghts 379 lbs. the honda says it has a automatic clutch, not sure what that means, kawa says nothing about a clutch. what would be a longer lasting, better built quad. not looking for top speed but more important is reliability. what would you guys suggest, oh and the price for the kawi is $ 4,099 and the honda is $3,899.

ok well since the honda has a better rep im leaning that way, but i dont like the idea of autoshift. i like to control the trans, and dont like a push start. i have been riding for a few years and learned to ride on a kick start and manual trans. so what would you guys advise for a kick start-manual trans with good realiability. i would think with the fancy trans and push start theres more things to break.

k man a mojave is a potent 250 i can beet most 300 and even a warrior on mine. if you eventualy want to get a bigger quad in thew future then you better get used to a clutch. the kikstart is reliable if you no when to choke and when not to it will start first time.

The latest edition of Dirt Wheels says the Honda is faster but just two months ago the Z was faster. Go figure cause I don't. Hmmm...............maybe Hondas footing the bill this month.........lol! Either way they said they only do 50 mph...............................................

To be honest, I never ran against either but I would like to. You and I don't agree on much but I think you'll agree that the Ozark is SUPPOSE to be slower than a Mojo. As far as the 56 mph, that was taken from my buddies Eiger speedo and I know they're not accurate. I don't mean to sound like I think my Ozark is the schnittzz but it is quick for what it is and my whole point here is the Z is even faster.
Let me get some riding time on that chick's Z and we'll head for some twisty trails and I'll take your lil money, boy!.........................

look, that mojave is not in the same universe for reliability if thats what your after. the 250ex and the recon are probly most durable atvs ever made. there is just nothing to them. i have a 02 250ex (see pics) and i don't ride it unless i'm on two wheels. i have popped that shifter everytime i have ridden it since the day i bought it. i have turned it tit side up 2 times in deep water and completely waterlogged the engine. i have rolled it twice (on my second handlebars). if you buy the 250ex and put $300 in it, pipe, jet, filter, it will out perform that mojave hands down. also its freakin' shaft drive, same brakes as the 400ex on front, reverse gear. in 10 minutes you can have it down to motor and chassis. if that is the type of bike you want, the honda is the way to go.

yeah, you need to listen to "yamwarrior101". i'm sure he has lots of experience with both bikes. just do a little research on past shootouts and forum posts and you'll find "yamwarrior101" is spot on. kawi mojave? get real dude. fartman wants RELIABILITY. call the atv rental places at pismo and ask them how many mojaves as opposed to 250ex's they have on hand. man this isn't even close.

ok first we didn't need all that info most of us should know but thanks let me some it up if your a newbie to atvs i would advise u to get the 250ex its very reliable if your not a newbie get a mojave a mojave is a manual clutch they r hard to start off on but they get easier and have a kick starter and they drive on a chain it is faster than a 250ex a 250ex is an auto clutch meaning all you have to do is shift and is electric start meaning u press a button to start and they drive on a shaft less Maintenance 250exs' r quite slow for a sport atv but the better overall better atv is the 250ex its very reliable and should last u a while i hoped i helped some

i have rode a mojave and a 250ex, my friend has a 250ex and he hates it if you don't mind a clutch and kick start get a mojave a 250ex is a good quad to hop on and have fun but you'll get bored of it.O and also CatsMeow look in the new issue of atv rider and they have 250ex last!!and a mojave 2nd!! but if you don't want a clutch get a Z250 much better than a 250ex but practicly the same thing BR>

the blaster would be great but it matters what kind of terrain you are ridin on. I was about to buy the blaster then I realized I ride on some pretty ruff trerrain and the blaster doesnt have a high enough ground clearence, so I went witht he z 250 no prbs with it yet it is great cant wait till i can get my hands on some mods!

yeah big evil....u got a point about that little Z frame with 250 Ozark motor ramed in it....i mean how could it even keep up with the mojave even if the dude drivin it has ben on a quad all his life....he may get the jump in a drag but it wont matter when the mojave goes flyin by it....now wat i would like to c is a 250EX and a Z250 drag and see who comes on top...

big evil i think ur right about the recon...my one buddy has one and its a pepy little quad for a 250 utility...so in esence a 250ex would def. take a Z250....
i would like to here peoples thoughts on the KFX700 V-force.....personly i think they handle like crap and need a new suspention system.....its a good quad if u like power and size and can tolerate the noise wen u slow the quad down....i still think kawi could of done a betta job with the 700

anybody who owns a mojave and has aftermarket parts on it let me know if the ones u got r ne good on it or not...cuz im thinkin about a dg system...k&n jetts& air filter, and goin from a 12 tooth to a 13

u may think ur lucky but theres no way ur "Ozark" does 56 stock.....and it would never take a mojave and it would be close between it and a recon......but im puttin my money on the recon........

yeah lilred300ex get if u intend on hittin alot of trails n jumpin alot then definitly sell that Vforce and invest in a raptor or YFZ450 u will like em alot better
300exjay...the 88 mojave i bought about 4 months ago does between 65-67..my freind clocked me in a car and he was doin 65 and we were neck n neck....i no the newer mojaves go like 60 but beleive me we had mine 65-67 on a stait road...i recently had it bored and soon gettin a after market pipe i havnt decided wat to go with yet...and i think i will go with some dynojet jetting and top end sprockets...and mayb shavin the head a couple thousants for more compresion..if u have ne ideas about the best mods to buy let me know....

i agree with uncle ray-ray. Get somthin with some kahonas. but if ur into the 2-strokes get somthing with a lil bit more power like a Trailblazer. other wise stick with the Mojave

my buddy has a Z-250 and his 2001 Arctic Cat 250 4x4 kills it. it may seem fast to you but they are slower than a 4x4!!!!!! And the kid i dragged has been riding since he was 5. Mojave eaisally kills yes KILLLS Z-250

ray ray im goin with the 250ex on this one. The 250ex has the same engine as the recon witch is the fastest 250 utility fourwheeler currently. that z250 dosent have a chance. Now if Kawi and Suzuki came out with a Z250 with the Mojave motor that would be worth buyin

Ozark u would loose so bad on the trails to uncle ray rays mojave...i owned it before he did and that thing has incredible handling on trails and he will blow u away anytime anywhere....its got balls to the walls n it will take yur ozark and yur frinds z250 down anywhere dragging trails anywhere
