Get her a polaris sport 400 it is fast, cheap, and automatic. what else could you ask for?

But if she can work a clutch go for the 300ex

Honda would most likely be the more reliable of the two being a shaft drive and auto tranny. Warrior has it beat in every other department except that. The 250ex would probably get boring pretty quickly.

The z400 hasn't been proven totally reliable and the z250 (I think) isn't actually on the market yet(?). Sure they have updated technology, but reliability and price may be a big factor here.

Don't get a Warrior!! I rode one for years. They are way outdated, big and clunky

I have owned a yamaha warrior for three years and its been rode very hard and it still runs like new i have run over trees and had it burried over the fenders in mud. My suggestion to any one with a warrior is put oin a pipe, jet kit, k&n filter, and a 1 tooth bigger front sprocket the it will hang with stock 400 ex's

I was thinking about getting a warrior or a 250ex for my wife. I was wonder what every one thought about the two the pros and cons. which one is the best

Thanks for the help. So the 300ex is about as fast as the warrior. And , yes i was going to get a raptor sould she change to a diffent atv all together. We won't be racing but i dont want her to be to far away. and she has never rode before.

Thanks for the help coyotechasler . I dont know how much im going to spend on a atv for her. I mainly want to get a good atv for her. JUst a question what do you think is the fastest stock atv.

The polaris sounds real good but i'm not a big fan of 2 stokes. Does anybody now when the 2004 atv comes out?

I think that it really depends on her experience with quads and where you'll be driving. The 250EX has a shaft drive and a semi-auto. While the Warrior has chain and a clutch. The top speed of the 250EX is somewhere around 52mph and the Warrior is about 61mph. I think the 250EX is better in the tight woods and the Warrior is better in open spaces. Although the Warrior can be used for trail riding. The 250EX is lighter and more agile. If you're considering the Warrior then why not the 300EX? It would give her a little more power but still be light and agile. If you're driving something like a Raptor then she might want something with more power so she's not left in the dust. -Or you could just ask her if she likes blue or red.

I think that the stock 300EX has a top speed of around 55 so the Warrior is a little faster. But in the woods the 300EX handles a little better than the Warrior. I think that a stock Raptor's top speed is around 71 mph. Do you think she'll be alright with a clutch? Maybe she should start with a semi-auto like the 250EX or new Z250. No matter how fast the quad is if she can't use a clutch then she'll fall behind on the trails. If you're getting a Raptor there will be times when you just want to stomp it. You'd have to get a pretty fast quad to keep up with a Raptor all the time. But if she's new to atv's it would probably be too much machine for a beginner. Just because she has not ridden before, I think a semi-auto or even auto would be good to start on. Lakota, 250EX, Z250, are sport semi-auto's. How much did you intend on spending on her quad?

It sounds like the KFX700 is the fastest stock. I think they just made it a little faster than the Banshee and Raptor to claim the title. I think the KFX700 could have been faster but the companies like to limit things.

Pothead42o, Some companies measure ground clearance at the foot pegs while others measure at the rear end. Example: The 400EX and the Z400 both have chain drive and 20x10-9 rear tires. But the 400EX has a listed ground clearance of 4.3" and the Z is listed as 10.4". (400EX at rear axle and Z400 at foot peg.) The measurements of the 250EX and Z250 are the same idea. Yamaha also measures at the rear.
Have another smoke.

the warrior and the 250 ex only have 4-5 inches of ground clearance..
You should get a Suzuki Quadsport Z250
Drive shaft, automatic clutch, reverse, 8.3 inches of ground clearance, perfect quad for just about any kind of riding.

Im sick of everyone talking about how "good" honda, and yamaha sport quads are..
Suzuki Quadsport Z250 or Z400 would be so much better...
with a honda or yamaha sport quad you will bottom out on every rock you try to go over...
