A Warrior would not be a bad choice, they are very reliable and very fun to ride. However yamaha and honda are supposed to be coming out with a new 400 sport quad vey soon , it may be worth it to wait.

I think a new honda/yamaha 400 class sport quad would be too much for this guy.

The 250ex has a centrifugal clutch, that means you shift w/o having to use a clutch. The 300ex and warrior both have fully manual transmissions. If you really dont want a clutch, you can look at the polaris sport quads. They have a 2 stroke automatic trailblazer 250 and a 400. Both of those are very nice quads as well. The trailblazer 400 is just a rebadged scrambler 400 2x4. Another option is the blaster 200cc 2 stroke.

The 300ex will have the best suspension setup of all quads in the category. The trailblazer 400 will be the fastest, followed by the blaster, but at a distance. The warrior is faster than the 300ex and 250ex, but i dont know about the trailblazer 250, because it is a 2 stroke. All of these quads are fairly comfortable if you are under 6' and less than 250lbs.

If you want something maintenance free, go with the honda lineup. Warriors are farily hardy as well. The 2 strokes require a little more work, changing jets and mixing gas, if you dont have an oil injector. Actually, the new 2 strokes I listed all have injectors, so you dont have to mix if you dont want to.

If you want to really get into riding your gonna need to learn the clutch. Once you've u get used to it you'll never go back. Get a warrior.

hey long name boy. you asked wich one not why. so dont expect details. dont go giving atitudes to everyone. you wont last long here.

Posted by: snowbuster

i think you should create a page on this forum and post that for all to read.lol

whats that supposed to mean... BUD J/K i meam only useing your clutch for startting and stopping. shifting?down shifting?and using it so you dont stall. arent those just as important to do as using it to start and stop, other than you have to use it to start.

the quadsport 400 does have a chain, also liquid cooling. the exact price is $5699. but for little over 3 you could get the blaster. 200cc. and manual clutch. just learned how to use onr the other day. and i wish i had one.

Ride what ever you like ''long name boy'' dont let the clutch thing stop you form getting what you want
the clutch is only used to start off any way " if you kick it , it will shift " ............. BUD

How about a Warrior..........BUD?

"Long name boy" is easier to type. From this day on "Aguywhocanneverbuyagoodquad" will be referred to as "Long name boy".

get a 300ex, there great for trails, better of jumps than a warrior and they handle a lot better. but if your looking for top speed get a warrior, yet they only go around 3 mph faster than the 300ex. don't even think about a 250ex, i've seen them and they are just like a utility, and they only go around the same speed as your rancher. hope i helped and again go with the 300ex, ride red!

forget about everything else. buy something new fast reliable and really well specked. gas gas 300 or 450.

Now I'm very very very bad at clutch! I have a Honda Rancher 350, and I want to buy a sport quad so i don't break my utility quad(i jump it a lot). Now I'm either deciding a 250EX,300EX, adn a Warrior, also I am 15. I would greatly apprecitate it if you would post your opioion(sp?).

I think best quad for you bud for only being 15 is a z/kfx400. great power and 400 chasis, dohc, great suspension for jumping.. learn clutch and and u'll love it

Hi,
I think Honda makes a really good ATV. The Honda has a great suspension. I've had the ATC 185S THREE WHEELER , two racing 3 wheelers250R, A CR 125 BIKE, and I just bought a new 03 Banshee by Yamaha. I've already had problems from my Banshee. I never had any from my Honda. If you like speed you may want to get the 300 EX. As your abilities GROW you'll want a little power to play with.

Have you looked into a Kawasaki Mojave? I just recently purchased a 2003 Model, and just love it. Quick, fast, and easy to maneuver. It has a clutch, and is very easy to use. After a day of clutching, it's like riding a bike, you just take it for granted.

Bottom line, don't let the clutch be your deciding factor, you can adjust to that. I have not ridden any of the other quads mentioned, so I have no opinion on them. I am sure they are fine machines as well.

Comfort for you is the deciding factor. Have fun and enjoy.

There are two quads that i believe are the best sport quads for trails and just ripping...
However it depends on the money you can spend.

The Suzuki QuadSport Z250 is a good choice... MSRP $3,899
The reasons being, it has a drive shaft which is very low meintenance, won't have to deal with a chain.
There is no clutch to deal with, it also has reverse.
Best of all it has 8.3 inches of ground clearance which is almost twice as much as its competitors... 250 ex, 300 ex, warrior...

All of these Features are really good for trail riding and dune ripping.

If you are willing to spend more money you could also get the Suzuki Quadsport 400, this has a clutch, but it is 4 stroke, with a drive shaft. Also has a lot of ground clearance for a sport quad.. You will have to spend $5,000 +++ to buy this though
