I've heard of a bit less but that's what I paid.

Ramg66 is absolutely right on this - I took a chance on the Eiger instead of waiting for the P360 to come out. I wound up with a 4x4 that goes anywhere I want it to, is comfortable and easy to ride, good in mud, good on trails, tight turning in the woods, solid as a rock and gets great gas milage. I usually run in company with a P650 and the ONLY place that I can't hang with him is whenever we hit an open fireroad. I went from an IRS bike to the Eiger and haven't found it to be much of a factor - except the Eiger powerslides the rear much better.

Sure, there are better ATV's out there, once you shell out an extra grand or more. Best bang for the buck sums it up quite well.

MOST BANG FOR THE BUCKS yah right, no diff lock, no IRS, poor suspension, looks pretty tho.

Can't comment on your U.S. prices but up here in Canada the Outlander has far more features including ind sus, auto, 2&4wd, + visco lock diff @ same $$ as Suz 400 & the Cat with same engine has ind sus, high low, 2&4wd, auto or semi-auto for less $$$.

Posted by: sxr6

RAMG66; Did you actually price an Outlander, How many problems can a new model have??? Old style Bomby's have always been reliable bikes, ( not talking sport bike here ). At 575lbs, I don't think I'd call it a heavy bike, Pol 400's are 725lbs, WHAT would you call them???? At least it has all disc brakes, a front diff that works, & an ind rear that rides well while giving maximum traction all of which your Suz has none of. Don't get me wrong Suz makes a good bike they just took a step backwards when they dropped the semi-ind Quadrunners in favor of the cheaper to make solid axle bike, makes for a good sports bike but marginal off-roader.

Posted by: sxr6

Sorry Eiger, I didn't put my Suz underware on when I got up this mornin, even though I do own one. If you ever pull your head out of your ASS take a deep breath & stick it back in before you learn anything!!

Posted by: sxr6

I can remember when only Honda made 3wheelers & NO-ONE ever saw a Suz!!! Progress is a terrible thing, I guess?????

Posted by: sxr6

First ATV???? What about the Coot, Pengun, Terra Cat, etc,, etc,,, there were about 100 diff brands in late sixties & early 70's , & I can't remember what was out in the 60's, even I'm not that old! & don't consider the Bomby a new upcomer, this company makes Trains & jets & I don't know what all.

Posted by: Ramg66

Thats a good price. $4900

Posted by: Ramg66

There you go, Thats a damn good price....OTD right?

Posted by: Ramg66

You will not regret it, its absolutley the Most bang for the buck!

Posted by: Ramg66

Yea its the most bang for the buck, for $4500 you get a 400 with Auto and 2W/4WD, tell me a better deal! Yea those things you mentioned are nice. Don't just talk smack, back it up, what is the best bang for the buck? Can you get a 400 2 and 4WD with Auto and diff lock and good suspension with IRS for $4500?????? Oh and lets not forget, it has won 2 shootouts on ATV action magazine.

Posted by: Ramg66

I bought the red one, love it. For hunting I really think green is not that much of an advantage, Ive been hunting deer and elk for 20 years on a white jeep and have never had a problem.

SXR6 Well I don't know much about the Bomb, everyone told me to stay away from them, too heavy and too many problems, And I seriously doubt you can buy one cheaper than a Eiger in the states, and as for the Arctic cat it came in 4th place in this months shootout, in ATV Action Magazine, by the way the article was about the best affordable automatic ATV in the middle class, the bomb was not there....too much $$$$$

Posted by: Ramg66

I'm sure ATV action magazine priced the bomb.....

Posted by: Ramg66

Keep it clean.

Posted by: Ramg66

Your exactly right Eiger4x4, I have never EVER seen a bomb in person, and I go to several places in northern california, hell I've never even seen a dealership either.

Posted by: Eiger4x4

Mine was $5800 including everything with a Winch.

Posted by: Eiger4x4

Bombs are the most stupidiest ugliest ATVs i have ever seen, there sports are alright but i kant see anyone wanting a Bombardier. I would recommend going for ONLY the Big Four ATV Brands that know what the hell there doing, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawi. Oh maybe Polaris, i think they have improved alot in the years, i dont know what they were thinking when they made a 2-stroke 4wd chain drivin.

Posted by: Eiger4x4

i have already learned what i needed to know, why is that i have never seen a bomb in person everytime i go to ATV Parks i see everything but them. That was a cute comment too.

Posted by: Eiger4x4

I guess since Suzuki made the first ATV, First Independent Sus, and Diff lock, i guess there wouldnt be no Bomb.

Posted by: Eiger4x4

Coot, Pengun, Terra Cat? And 100 other diff brand ATVS? Hmmm Never heard of and never seen one. Im talking about something that actually Exist today. Honda=First ATC Suzuki=First ATV in the 80s. But imma quit argueing you win buddy.

Posted by: Eiger4x4

Oh and the first ATV was made in the Early 80s I can't remember exactly the date was when Suzuki Founded it. There was no such thing as a Fourwheeler in the 60s and 70s, i dont know where you got your information from but its wrong

Posted by: okierider

Hi I got to lookin around and found a guy that would sell me a 03 Suzuki Eiger 4x4 Automatic tranny for $4499!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is the best price I have seen anywhere even on the forums.

Posted by: okierider

Hell Ya, I had to double check with the guy to make sure.

Posted by: okierider

I saw the same on tv and went and rode one I really like it. It works great for what i rode it. I am going to pick up an 03 4x4 Automatic Tommorow or next week and I think I will really enjoy it

Posted by: thedeerhunter

Buying my first Atv today. 03 Suzuki 400 auto 4x4. Dealer offered it to me for $4599 for machine and $4799 with 4 year extended warrentee. Is this price fair? It seems rather cheap compared to the rest of the 400s around. I see that there is a little concern over the stock tires, is this something I should upgrade right away. Thanks

Hello
If you want to know more about real atvīs (and most of them were build in 60s and 70s, and some still be build) you should take a look at www.route6x6.com there are many of them. Most with 6 wheels some like coot and penguin with 4 wheels and all of them ampibious.
I think atv is not the corect name for a motorcycle with four wheels (quad), cause they canīt drive in "all terrain".
Some quads still have two wheeldrive and most of them have real problems with deep mud and snow not to talk about deep water. (i have a few very nice pictures of a atvs pulling quads out of mud, let me knew if you want some) Also quadīs seems to be more like bikes then vehicles the seat and the steering for example.
If you see it like me atvīs were build since 60s but you were right with quadīs build since 80s.
