Hey Snowman.....If I was you....I would get a Honda90..You can adjust the throttle so the kid cant go too fast...It's a 4 speed auto..(shift w/o clutch) pull start......he can't start it when your not around...No matter how small your little guy is..he'll out grow a 50cc in no time....I had a Honda 90 for my son at 11 years old.out grew it in 6 months.....has a Blaster now.....you should be able to find one for about 15-1700 in good condition...if it doesnt start with the 3rd pull....go look for another..they start pretty easy and are indistructable..good luck...have fun....

I am looking to buy my son a small quad. There are so many out there. What should I look for and what is a good brand? I was trying to find a used one to keep the cost down but I have only found 2 used ones and they wanted as much as a new one. How much will I have to spend to get something in the 50cc range? BTW I live in SE MN if anybody knows of one for sale. Thanks

Heya id go with the raptor 80 or the honda 90cc sportrax they are good for kids because of the throttle limiter and intake udjuster

I suggest the 50 Scrmabler X.It's a nice quad,with good suspension,and nice handling.They are on;y about $1,299.Good luck!

i used to have a honda 90, and that thing was awesome. its a really dependable quad, never broke once. i'm 14, now i have a bigger quad. lol....you can get them pretty cheap used, i sold mine for $1200 and it was a 1993
