Should be able to get an AC300 for less than that. A friend has one and really likes it. Not the fastsest, but a pretty nice machine.

For a 4x4 you will be held to about a 300cc size motor or smaller. The Arctic Cat 300 is by far the best choice in that class. The next one would be the Polaris Magnum 325 4X4.

If you want a true 4WD, go for the Suzuki KingQuad. It has selectable 2WD. 4WD, and 4WD D/L (differential lock). It has Super Low Range too. And it is right around the $5000 mark. Let us know what he gets.

I bought a 2001 Wolverine in December and love it. This is my first ATV and a good choice for me.
Here is where I need help...my brother would like to buy an ATV but doesn't have enough money or credit to buy a Wolverine.
What would be a good choice?
Here is some background...we will be riding in the mountains, he wants a 4x4, and he would like to keep everything under $5000. (taxes, shipping, etc.), he is a big guy...about 240 lbs. We have been looking for used machines but haven't found anything yet.
I have a couple ideas, but I don't want to tait any suggestions.
Thanks

We have been looking at Ranchers 4x4. There is a dealership here in Denver selling them for $4300. What do you think of them?
I have been reading a little about the recalls, but that doesn't seem like a huge deal.
I love it. I got a good deal on it because of the color...Green. $5000. It was a very good choice. I haven't been able to ride in the mountains because of the snow. Can't wait until summer.
