Ben, I'd like to know your reasons for recommending the Arctic Cat 2WD 300 over a similar Honda (I now regard both as fine machines, favoring neither). The reasons behind your own decision, buying a new Arctic Cat, would provide interesting reading. Thanks. Tree Farmer

I'm an Arctic Cat and Honda owner. I am making payments on the AC right now so you know what I chose for my last purchase. I won't be biased and I will shoot you straight here on my own opinion. If I were getting one of the bigger bikes, i would get the AC 500 three to one over the Honda 450. If I were getting a 2wd 300 class, i would get the Honda 300. Thats all I can say. I think Arctic cat makes the better large bike, and I think Honda makes the better 300 class bike. As for price, I really don't know what they run MSRP. ------------------ Andy Bassham *(1999 Arctic Cat 500 4x4, 1989 Honda 300)*

My friend has a AC 300 4x4 and loves it. If i was choosing to buy a honda 300 2wd or a AC 300 2x4 I would take the AC 300. I like the independent rear suspension. Although the honda 300 is a very good machine it is getting a little outdated. Mud600

I am looking to buy a 2x4, I have been looking at the 300 Honda and the 300 Arctic cat. which one is going to give me the most for the $ and what would be a good price.

I would go with the Honda. It has a proven reliability track record. Not that there is anything wrong with the Artic Cat. The honda 300 2wd's MSRP is $4399. I have learned that Dealer invoice on Hondas are generally 15-16% under MSRP, so invoice price should be around $3739. If you could get it for a few hundred over that, you would be getting a good price.
