I presume you have the basics, nerf bars and tether switch.
A wider quad is better for MX. Stock width is OK for xc. You will need good shocks regardless altho I raced with stock shocks till I could afford them.
You will need to find a track that ISN'T ama santioned cuz of your age.
3 tips:
watch the pin and you'll win. Watch the gate and you'll be late.
follow at first. The guys in front of you will teach you alot. Next thing you know, they will be following you.
have fun.

What part of oklahoma? There are quite a few tracks around. Most tracks just require a tether and a helmet, but I would suggest nerfs, boots, chest deflector, googles, gloves, and number plates for bike. Make sure the track that you goto has quad classes, look for a beginner quad class.

I want to get into racing and i have no idea where to start and what to do. Here is a little bit about me. I am 14 years old and i have been riding since i was 3. I consider myself a pretty good rider. I live in oklahoma. and i am 6' 3" and 200 lbs (mostly muscle) so i can control the bike. and i ride a dvx400 with a ct pipe, vortex cdi, and other little parts. I really need someone who can help me out and tell me what i need to do to get into racing.
