Hey guys...im new to atv racing. I went and practiced for my first time on Saturday and cased it on a double. and my aluminum airbox crimped my rear brake line and shot all my fluid out. Now i got my rear shock stiffened up and my fronts softened up. Is there some tricks to jumping/landing/anything you can think of. Please help us new riders.

i've only been riding for about 5 years now. Have hit quite a few jumps...but never real track jumps. I live in town so there is no room for a track. But the track i have a membership for is only like a mile away and has open practice, monday, wednesday and saturday...I've already lost weight...and my quad isn't going to lose any weight... I'll just name the ONLY stock parts-
Swingarm
Brake Disks
Rear Brake Caliper
Engine internals ***not for long***
rear brake petal
yeah i think that's pretty much it

land on the gas...... and crazy, when your trying to do a no hander lander.... i find its better to land on all four tires at once and stand.... but not fully... just so you dont kill your back on the landing.

never case a double, never overjump and nosedive excessively at the same time, whatelse.... oh yeah, dont get hung up on ruts- cuz thats just embarassing when you have to get off the quad to get it unstuck.

Wear full gear, dont drink/smoke/inject yourself b4 races

dont sit down? attack position offers more control....
dont show off, i dunno, its all common sense

just be safe, try hard, and dont be stupid

stayt in shcool and dont do drugs

oh yeah, another good thing to do is for both the quad and the rider to go on a diet.... if you both lose 50 lbs, the performance gains will be amazing

avoid nose diving... just panic rev it instead- sure when you land, the chain could snap from it going from 70mph to 25mph in zero seconds, and your axle and swinger could break.... but those things combined are still much cheaper than straightening out and/or replacing your front row of teeth

BTW you say you're new to ATV racing, are you new to sport quads too? or have you only trailridden? Do you have your own "backyard MX" track? you might want to try building one, and you can learn a lot as you get better- start on 20f tables, then move to 30f tables, then 40f then 50f tables, then 30f doubles, and then 50f doubles. Then you should have enough skill and know-how to be quite competetive i would think.... i dont race competetively, just against my friends on our little tracks (most jumps are under 40feet and some small doubles

when ur gonna jump a jump dont look at the facing look at the landing...smoother landings
